Jawaun Daniels juco out of Odessa, the bulls have interest but no offer apparently per verbal commits
Not ranked in the juco top 100 on the prior pages but was included in the honourable mentions
Am I missing something but doesnt the season usually start the first week of November? And isnt the hall of fame in Massachusetts?
But that sounds like a really cool event to be apart of. Not to mention being able to recruit and just have the schools name out and about in Toronto.
Winning the Mac should still be a realistic goal.
We are losing 5 seniors but the returning players have a lot of talent. Including 2 that should compete for player of the year
All we are really missing is depth at the 4 and 5 spot. We get the juco's re committed and the Bulls will be very dangerous come March once again
I'm kinda shocked he didnt get paid more. His resume is solid. His last head coach job was his first coaching job in division 1. Since then he has coached with steve lavin, rick Majerus and nate oats
Hopefully they are putting the money saved to good use
The contract might be the reason whitesell was hired.
Assuming any coach rumored to have interviewed would have commanded 500k plus.
The ones interviewed weren't 200k plus better than whitesell
Whitesell's weakness is recruiting. It wouldn't be the brightest idea to go away from the brand of basketball that ub has been playing. This style will make recruiting easier
When it comes to recruiting buffalo has a few things working for the program. Winning and tournament appearances, fan support, and if whitesell keeps the same system the style ub plays.
I wonder if one of the reasons for the length of this process was about keeping hodgson on staff somehow. Maybe just weird timing but hodgson releases his goodbye to buffalo right before whitesell is named head coach
Jim Whitesell in my opinion is a great choice, especially if he can get a top recruiter to be on his staff
With that said why did it take so long? It comes across like you settled for someone you didn't really want to hire in the first place
As the roster currently stands it kinda will force the next coach to play a similar style as we have played the past few years
Small fast and aggressive
Reading his bio on Boston college's web site he has a good amount of experience. Has been on successful mid major programs including time in the Mac with Ohio but bc has been a disappointment while he has been there.
