  1. Nice to finally see announcement on http://ubbulls.com/sports/mbkb/2018-19/releases/20190710g5q7dc. Hopeful the waiver is approved.
  2. This is a work in progress - but here is a start. 2020 UB Recruits.xlsx
  3. Not sure if any additional schedule news will come out prior to official release, but schedule was released last year on August 1st. Thought this would help with expectations.
  4. So five-sixths (now six-sevenths) of comments in this thread have nothing to do with the topic... can we change the topic or should we start discussing? Or just say...please refer to 2019-20 Schedule thread to discuss and feel free to skip the 'dick measuring contest' content.
  5. There goes his sixth man of the year award!😁. All kidding aside this is very cool!
  6. Thank you for the information. Thought I would share a bit more information: Curtis Harrison IV - 6'6 (or 6'7); 215 lbs PF/SF http://verbalcommits.com/players/curtis-harrison-iv http://www.hudl.com/profile/8740165/Curtis-Harrison-IV Some solid prospects receiving offers yesterday.
  7. Here is schedule for Lakers. I will be checking out how Perkins does. https://www.nba.com/summerleague/2019/schedule?team=lakers&league=vegas
  8. Here is the schedule for Brooklyn. I will be tuning in to see CJ. https://www.nba.com/summerleague/2019/schedule?team=nets&league=vegas
  9. Let's hope so! Would be great start to the week!
  10. This is an exciting prospect. Let's hope he follows in CJ footsteps. I know I am reaching here but did you notice tweet that preceded offer tweet stating he will commit in fall...just merge the tweets...I will commit in the fall to Buffalo.😀
  11. Most of work was done on the site. I haven't fully researched how they are estimating ADJOE and ADJDE for upcoming season, but suspect there is consideration of expected roster. Another place on that site they have expected contributors. They are still including Rojas, Allen and Caldwell for Bulls while not including Skogman or Gallion or TBD? So subject to change. May be tweaks to other MAC teams as well. More to come. http://barttorvik.com/team.php?team=Buffalo&year=2020 Entire view of MAC http://barttorvik.com/trankpre.php?conlimit=MAC&state=All&year=2020&sort=
  12. I used data from barttorvik.com to compile the attached two graphs. The first graph shows high correlation between the difference (DELTA) between Adjusted Offensive Efficiency (ADJOE) and Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (ADJDE) based on sample from the MAC for past three seasons. The second chart shows the DELTA for 2018-19 and projected 2019-20 as well as Minutes Retained in 2019-20 from previous season. So what do I take away from these charts from Bulls perspective: The site projects Ball St to get 13 wins. The site projects Bulls getting 11 MAC wins in 2019-20. This projects UB results will be similar to Nate Oats first year (i.e. 10/11 wins in MAC). Remember that UB won the MAC tournament that year Some caveats at this point: almost two-thirds of the Bull's minutes will come from a different source than last year; and the site does not have the roster completely accurate at this point. Also, I have not looked at the reasonableness of changes in DELTA, as I need to start doing my day job, maybe later. My take-away is that the Bulls should be competitive in 2019-20 and have a shot at going back to NCAA tournament. In light of losing all the talent and the coach, I would look at this as a positive.
  13. Miami of Ohio signs James Beck a 6'8 power forward from Oakland. He will sit out 2019-20 and have two years of eligibility after that. https://local12.com/sports/college-sports/miami-basketball-adds-transfer-from-oakland-university-cincinnati-redhawks-college-james-beck-jack-owens Here are his stats from Oakland. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/james-beck-1.html
  14. I am sure Coach W would be happy to accommodate one more guest in his house... Hoping that is real soon (as I am sure we all are!)
  15. Appears to be Coach Whitesell's house.
  16. Not that my opinion matters, we are a great choice even with Oats departure. Would be nice to wrap up the 2019-2020 team.
  17. He likely planned to take the weekend to make his decision. I am expecting something tomorrow. As for OSU, I looked at their fan site and they aren't really talking about Nigel on the site. Just be patient and stay positive. 🙂
  18. Right there with you. https://images.app.goo.gl/gdGTP1oRxkVFkU2C6
  19. I agree with your statement about tempering expectations. I had started to qualify my comment but felt I was getting too wordy. My point was more about how the Bulls may have benefited from another physical player, especially in TT game and getting a player like John will hopefully make a stronger balanced team in next few years. That said I like the fact that Buffalo is a team that is exciting to watch and that we have things to talk about and be hopeful for next season and beyond.
  20. First let me say last year's team was a great joy to watch they were special and I have nothing bad to say. However imagine if we had someone like Nigel John (in his senior year) as a part of that team. Maybe the rebounding differential is not as one-sided in TT favor... Maybe you harass the top 3 scorers (three tallest on the team) on TT a bit more. I am guessing a much closer ending.
  21. Sorry about the video - was all I could find. Agree with you on hope that the players Bulls are brining in develop, and I am optimistic as well.
  22. Here is a video I found and some stats. https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/nigel-john/L-7T3tu2EeiAxKkkK9HIDg/gendersport/basketball-stats.htm
  23. I would characterize the recruiting class as a success, especially if we land Nigel John. While we do not have the 4 star prospects of past two years (Williams 0.9368 and Harris 0.9200), we potentially have four 3 star recruits, and kept roster in tact despite losing our coach. Combine the recruiting with the overall program philosophy, I expect we will be among teams competing for MAC championship this coming year, which should help us out-recruit as UB05 stated.
  24. I agree. I am encouraged with the group of recruits will allow the Bulls to compete in MAC and sets them up nicelyfor the next few years.
