  1. Loved Hurley. Class guy all the way when not in the midst of a game. Crazy man during the game. He thought he was playing, unfortunately no one can see the game the way he can. He's not coming back. I still don't see this staff the way some of you do. Sorry, they're not Nate. He's not coming back either, but these guys aren't nearly as bad as you make them out to be...not by a longshot.
  2. Worry about this year. Next year doesn't matter. With the portal as it stands, every year is a 1 year thing moving forward.
  3. Agreed. Poor final quarter. Effort was high at times (very high even), and disappeared for a step and paid for it, each time.
  4. Yeah, sort of like Segu or Williams' development from year one til now. Even Mballa went from a nobody (at another school) to DPOY last year.
  5. Wow, back and forth game between two of the top teams. One team has a poor 5 minute stretch and all of a sudden they're horrible and coach is called out. I really would love to know your accolades in sports to be able to critique the players and coaches. Yep, it was a stinker final 8 minutes, in every sense. Still doesn't mean the team and coach are trash, sorry.
  6. The refs need to stop over officiating. Ruining a quality game. Not one side or the other, just too many whistles. Gonna be a tight one in the 2nd half!
  7. Yeah, no replay during the broadcast, so couldn't really see exactly what or how bad it was. She never came back even to the bench, so that's worrisome. She's been playing well, and we never want to see anyone get hurt, starter or last one on the bench. If She's out for a while, it would be a problem. Jordan has had a few minutes the last few games, but She's no Ade.
  8. Any update on Adeyaya who went down during the game?
  9. I just named him since they came in together. I don't care where anyone is from, as long as they can play!
  10. Also remember Kambi Laleye. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose on the recruits.
  11. I don't disagree with the point, but I'm not going to make a big deal about it either. I'm just happy they won (relatively handily) and have a 4 game streak heading into a challenging pair of games next week.
  12. God forbid they had something to smile about. I'd wager that was Segu's first ever alley oop (receiving end) in his college career. It might be his only. He's like 6', 160lbs, plays his behind off always, on both ends. I'd let it go. Could we have done without the pull ups on the rim? Ok, that's a bit excess. In the end, who cares, they led from pole to pole and win by double digits, now 4 straight wins. Enjoy it guys (and gals).
  13. The masks stifle a lot of the noise (what little noise there is). I think that hurts a lot of the emotion that the crowd wants to provide. The lack of band and students is a joke. The fact that the school can't get any students to attend during a break is embarrassing. I know that when I went to school there, I attended pretty much every game, break or not (not asking for a pat on the back or anything, but there was literally a completely empty end zone last night). Fingers crossed that they'll have a bigger crowd (and maybe a band) next Friday against Ohio.
  14. Just got up after being at a game, where UB led the whole way and wins by 13, yet nearly every post in this thread has a negative tone. Really? I guess even double digit wins aren't good enough anymore against what has been considered a "rival" for years. We must have perfection evidently. Sorry that it wasn't. Spoiler...next game won't be perfect either, nor will any following it. I, for one, enjoyed my time at the game tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed the win over Kent. Tough week ahead. At least a split would be good. Winning both would be very big.
  15. I guess my feet won't be on your seat tonight!
  16. It's the "look at me" times. Everyone loves to showcase themselves in any way possible. "Final 10", then "Final 5", committed, re-opening commitment, new final 5. Maybe 1% of these guys in the portal and many of the seniors/Jucos actually look at the schools. It's only aboit the sport, and if everything isn't perfect, they'll just leave the next year. If it's too perfect, then they'll be "too good" for the school and leave as well. It's quickly becoming big news if a guy stays 4-5 years to completion. 5 years from now, those guys will be the unicorns if the current system still is the same.
  17. And even after signing a NLI, they can still go elsewhere penalty free. We'll see what the team looks like in August.
  18. Packed house tonight of around 100. Yeah, I'd hope for more on Wednesday! The short bench gets me nervous, especially if we get a whistle happy crew. It's definitely a tough team and hopefully they can keep the winning ways!
  19. Well, I guess we won't get to see if they'll keep improving, since Tuesday's game is cancelled. Insane
  20. Nope, only allow to say that the staff should be fired, certain players suck, and there is no roster/recruiting going on. Even after 3 straight wins. Apparently UB has to be top 25 or bust. We all want to be undefeated, play pretty, play against top notch opponents always. We got spoiled with the big run over those couple of seasons and now if we don't get that, we must "throw out the baby with the bath water". This team is good, analyze the whole season at the end and don't nitpick every little bump in the road, because every team gets them, it's how they respond that matters. We're at a mid major, not a blue blood, as much as we wish otherwise. It's not always going to be roses, unfortunately.
  21. They're struggling right now. They don't have the go-to guy this year. Lots of stars, but no CJ at the end of the game. They have the talent to turn it around and go deep though.
  22. 2 guys who aren't seeing the floor currently, yet the "doom and gloom"-ers say the cupboard is bare after this year.
  23. C'mon Chet, are you expecting 20 point wins every night? They've won 3 in a row. Take it and move forward. If they win the next 3 in a row in close fashion, will we still be hearing that you're not excited? Oats has lost 2 in a row and has lost to a MAAC team this year. Maybe he should be shown the door. Should we all be dancing in the streets after these wins, maybe not, but 3 wins in a row is 3 wins in a row. There should be some happiness/excitement with it. We've seen Skogman come of age in these 3 wins, along with Curtis being a viable option. Even Brewton, who people here hate, has had some good defensive stints over the last 2 games (less the poor foul at the end of today's game). That's 3 more options than we may have had over the first few games of the season. That's something to be excited about, combined with the "big 3" and a solid Jack, that's 7 options that I'm not afraid of having on the floor at any time in MAC play.
