  1. Yeah, $750k per year is like pennies. You mean you don't make that??
  2. Well deserved. Hopefully she continues her success at UB for many more years and we can hang her name up in the Alumni rafters as well.
  3. Good for him and nice to see a local kid earn his stripes.
  4. Correct, I am choosing not to attend due to the ridiculous and unnecessary mandate, as given by the facts in my earlier post. Sadly, I know that I am definitely not alone with this choice, and the attendance will be lessened overall because of it. If desired, I can watch the games on television very comfortably. I don't wish to be berated by game "security" whose job will be the mask police. If it's anything like Cleveland for basketball, they made the game entirely joyless, as you couldn't even finish sipping a drink or chewing your food without someone holding a sign in your direction or yelling to put the mask back on. Even though there was a 10-15 foot radius before coming across another person from outside of my family (much like a weekday evening MAC-tion).
  5. Ok, let's wear cloth masks (that have no scientific proof of effectiveness), outside (where the virus minimally spreads), while vaccinated and generally healthy (.0007% covid deaths of vaccinated people). Enjoy living in your world. Again, if you'd like to, or feel more comfortable wearing a mask, have at it. I'm not going to however, when there is essentially unlimited scientfic data proving it is completely unnecessary outside while healthy and vaccinated. Disappointing to be unable to attend, but it is what it is, so long as unnecessary mandates are in place by UB. The players who are in each other's faces breathing on each other won't be wearing a mask, but those sitting in the stands must, because you know, "science".
  6. Yes, scary. More people have died in car crashes than vaccinated ones from covid. Let's shut down outdoor football games.
  7. I have no problem with you wearing the mask, that's your choice. I, for one, will not be wearing one sitting outside at a game (in a stadium that is generally very far from shoulder to shoulder), especially as a healthy, vaccinated person. Therefore, unfortunately I won't be attending UB football games for the first time in 25 years.
  8. Nope, this was put out earlier in the week, specifically including "ub football games".
  9. Can't make a shot today. It was extremely fun while it lasted. Team won as a team over the tournament but went extremely short on the bench today.
  10. Well, the vets beat up on Xavier last night, hopefully the current guys can beat up on him as well!
  11. When Leonard Tangishaka joins in, then we'll be set.
  12. So does being outdone in mac championship final 2nd halves. Hopefully that won't happen anymore!
  13. I'd be curious to know (it's probably out there and someone on here likely has some numbers) what the annual budgets are for football between UB and MAC counterparts. Also, how much $$ from donors has gone into football in recent years. I am pretty confident that UB has improved their program most in recent years vs MAC opponents on the latter section. UB has added a new football fieldhouse (yes a few here will say it's for all sports, but it's a football fieldhouse), locker room, recovery room, offices, nutrition station and surely more. While it's probably low end conpared to the "big schools", they have to be on the higher end of the non-monster schools. Hopefully "64" and "61" will be the low bar moving forward as the investment has been there (at least in my mind).
  14. At "64", we are quite a ways away from the Boise state level of success.
  15. It's nice to see UB ranked at the top of the MAC, however this league (especially the East) is pretty poorly ranked. There's no reason that this school should ever fall out of bowl bids based on the investments they've made, combined with the ineptitude of their divisional opponents. MAC EAST: UB 64 Ohio 100 Kent 108 Miami 113 Akron 126 BG 128 That's pretty lowly competition. 4-1 should be the absolute minimum yearly. UB is given a 72% chance to win the East and 42% overall. This league surely doesn't strike fear in it's opponents. It's hard to lose a step when your divisional opponents are as bad as those listed above. Not one of those 5 are outside of the bottom 25% of D-1, with UB sitting right at the 50th percentile.
  16. For a select few, for the better, at the expense of the rest.
  17. Nice looking offers so far. Not bad for this sorry staff that doesn't recruit.
  18. It's stuff like this that makes me continue to believe that the "portal" sucks...and I don't think it's going to ever get better.
  19. Do you believe that any football or basketball players come for much beyond their sport? Yes they are in school, but surely the sport is priority #1 for most. I rarely see posts saying "I just got my 4th offer into (insert major) school".
