  1. While the top 10 coach part is correct (Oats), I guess that Eichel, Reinhardt, Skinner, Dahlin are talent-less players in your eyes. That top 10 coach also graduated UB's equivalent of Lemieux (CJ), Messier (Perkins), Chelios (Carruthers), Shanahan (Harris) and Mike Ramsey (McRae). The talent that remained was 2 sophomores that played minimal minutes during their freshman year, a senior defensive star, a junior who had always been the 3rd/4th option (who was great at it) 2 transfers who hadn't played for UB yet, a few bench & walk ons, and a recruiting class that was gone. The sophomores from above have improved over each of their 2 seasons, the junior from above has been leading the way strongly of late (as the team has beaten 3 top teams in the last 3 games), the recruiting class that was gone has given this team Mballa (a top 10 player in the league who has gotten better each season, Hardnett who has clearly improved over his two seasons, Nickelberry who has gained a solid role of late, Fagan/Brock (the bench players from above) also have a solid role of late. Yet somehow, the coach that is here has had a 20 win and now a (defacto) MAC East title (2nd overall) in his 2 regular seasons. Yet several here want him gone. These results are hardly a fire-able offense. Probably would actually be lauded by most.
  2. Well that didn't age well, but they still got the W by 1 in OT. Let's hope for 3 wins next week! Like the men's team, when they are playing well, they can beat anyone. When they're not, it can be scary.
  3. Women currently leading by 20 on BG. Nice!
  4. Absolutely! (in addition to the current squad)
  5. The critcisms are very quick on here when something goes badly, but the praise when things are good are few and far between. That goes for players and coaches. Most of this year, Graves has been considered the new Grant and Whitesell has become Ralph Krueger (or even Freddy Krueger). We all want to win, and in perfect manner every time, but unfortunately athletics doesn't work that way, unless you're the Globetrotters and facing the Generals. In D1 athletics, The other team is made up of good players/coaches and they are trying to win also. Let's just hope our pulse can hold steady for the next week and our guys (and ladies ) can put together a big 3 game stretch.
  6. Your source was pretty close to nailing it. Hope the banks are paying dividends next week!
  7. Right, for all we know, we won't even play. Craziness!
  8. Not bad, winning 8 of the final 9. All this considering their coach should be fired and all their players make countless mistakes and miss shots (according to many here, repeatedly). 12-5 in league, not half bad. "They can't beat good teams", just rolled up double digit wins in 2 of the final 3, and the other were in control big until the end got tight. I think some credit where it's due is needed. Good job coaches, players. Now get a little payback for last year and roll Miami!
  9. If I only read this thread and nothing else, I'd estimate UB was down 20 right now.
  10. We are leading, right? Just finish off these last 8 minutes and move on. That's it. Not the Toledo final 8 or Akron final 8, but a normal, even or better, final 8.
  11. Bivens is the only walk on who's played, only was in for 5-6 min and was "+" in his time out there. What's wrong with it?
  12. "Justin Turner was really good for Buffalo, and Ishibi, I forgot his first name ". Dookitch is such a clown.
  13. Do we know if any of our current roster is actually leaving? Doesn't everyone get another year of eligibility? Maybe it will be the same roster. Unlikely, but who truly knows at this point? Maybe everyone leaves, whether they graduate or transfer. Only time will tell on that. All I know is this year's team has a shot at finishing 12-5 and that's pretty solid to me anytime.
  14. If we are cancelling games and can't have fans come fall, then just end everything.
  15. Wtf. This is just so brutal (and a norm at this point).
  16. My question was sarcastic, but your 2nd line is true. #0 didn't look like herself (or maybe still not 100% or rusty or both). This team is really good though. They can win the league, but like the men, it will be a challenge to do so.
  17. What are the odds on all 4 games played in 8 days without cancelation? Based on recent history, I'd call it a toss up at best. It'd surely be nice to see, if it takes place.
  18. The Bulls need to just play. The recipe is correct, but being able to get on the floor with opponent would help too.
  19. I saw that there was a new post here. My thought is, "great the game is canceled". It's a relief to not see that, but it's still many hours til tip off.
  20. Why bother planning for games anymore? I'll fall over if there is a MAC tournament or ncaa tournament without cancellation/forfeits based on the frequency of these postponements.
  21. Yes, he, along with Roddy Gayle were big time prospects both from Niagara Falls. Both took the prep school route, with Lightfoot leaving early and Gayle leaving more recently.
  22. Well, he's from Niagara Falls, so that surely helps. Still good to be in the mix, gotta be in it to win it!
