  1. From the Governor's website: More details: https://www.budget.ny.gov/pubs/archive/fy24/ex/book/briefingbook.pdf Looks to be a big win for UB in general, especially with the new funds for the endowment. University Advancement expects to hit the $1,000,000,000.00 goal in the Boldly Buffalo campaign this year. They need about another $80,000.000.00
  2. That is not the whole schedule. The set dates are the first four weeks only. We are playing same schools as last year. When each game will be played is TBA. The only news in that release is that we are not playing Old Dominion. We are playing at Louisiana the week we were scheduled to play Old Dominion. Louisiana comes to Buffalo on 9-21-30.
  3. After the Baylor football game on a Friday night you came out against beer sales at UB games. Prior to the game you were all for it. Why the switch to beer sales again? Please explain, especially since the sales seem to have little to no impact on ticket sales.
  4. Jessika Schiffer (Rider) Games 20 Min Per Game 32.5 Points 9.1 FG % .364 Reb per game 2.0
  5. Not yet a conference game. Oklahoma is still in the Big XII.
  6. She also had to build a team from scratch in about a month. She ended up with one player from the entire roster from last season. That is why it is heavy with fifth year players.
  7. Greg Know has moved back to Mississippi State as Senior Offensive Analyst. https://hailstate.com/news/2023/1/20/football-arnett-rounds-out-coaching-staff.aspx
  8. I was unable to see the game, so I will not comment on the officials last night. That being said they are NOT MAC officials. This is not football. In basketball officials can and do work multiple conferences. They may be "approved" by the MAC but they are not exclusively MAC officials. Last Saturday, Gene Steratore's (CBS' in house ref) brother worked the UB game. He has also worked Big 10 games. He has worked games played in the Ivy League. There are officials that will work multiple games in a day and up to four games over a weekend if geography and game times work.
  9. Clearly he has one or else he would to be able to transfer. I do not think he would have a second year. Next year wlil be his fourth playing. Unless the NCAA changed their rules over 2020, he does not get a COVID year because the Ivy League did not play in 2020.
  10. Check by the wrestling area on the ground floor. There is a 1978 National Championship trophy there.
  11. The President of UB when football was dropped was not Robert Ketter. It was Martin Myerson, who went on to become President of the University of Pennsylvania. Acting President Peter F. Regan in charge on the day football was dropped. The decision to drop football was made by the people who funded football. The, students. Football was too warlike and the vote to drop football was in part an anti-war action. UB would not have dropped football as they had three games set to be on ABC that fall and lost all of the TV money. It was Robert Ketter who behind the decision to bring football back. when it was brought back it was still funded by the students. For the first few years the budget to run the entire program was $25,000.00 ($121412.08 in 2022 dollars according to the Minneapolis Federal Reserve's CPI calculator). When football was brought back all sports that had been at the Division I level were dropped to Division III except baseball which remained at Division I and ice hockey that remained at Division II. Within weeks to months there was already talk of trying to bring all UB teams back up to Division I. It took a while, but eventually it was completed. History lesson over for today.
  12. Basketball was never dropped. Then how do you explain the support for the Bills, for 20 years of missing the playoffs? Not winning a title for 57 years? The Sabres for being 0-History?
  13. He does have another year. Working on a masters. I forgot what it is in, but it is something impressive.
  14. Especially since combined they hit 0 three point shots the entire season, combined.
  15. Based on post game I do not believe that Coach Mo rubbed him the wrong way. The two met, along with a number of other players, after the bowl game. It was clearly personal and I will leave it at that. Also unless both 2017 and 2018 do not count as years played, he is out of eligibility. He has already played in six seasons.
  16. Got down to Montgomery on Sunday. It was a very quiet town. Most likely because of Christmas lasting two days. Outside of families there were very few UB fans in town because many were coming on a second plane with the band and cheerleaders. Met up with a couple of other 1958 Society members, two made it on the first plane and two drove in from the Carolinas. Had a great time with them over dinner. I can confirm the Hines quote, as I asked him the same thing. The cold weather had impacts across the south. My reservation for Tuesday night after the game at a hotel at the airport in Atlanta was cancelled, as the area where all of the airport hotels was shut down because of water main breaks. 17. UB would want Syracuse recruiting players from Western New York, why? It would be a Notre dame home game, as part of their Shamrock Series, like when they played BC in Fenway Park. So you wanted used broken seats to be put into UB Stadium. The lights were updated nearly 10 years ago for TV standards.
  18. Last year she played in Turkey. I believe this year she is in Egypt.
  19. May be not increase his stock, but fatten his wallet through better NIL opportunities.
  20. The only schools that will be safe from entering the trasfer portal or sitting out bowl games are the schools in the playoffs.
  21. That depends on the contract. However, I do not believe that here is a contract that gives a bonus to a coach for losing a bowl game.
