  1. Good luck with this idea. Before this can even begin they will need TV deals with guaranteed airtime on real channels ass opposed to streaming. Even with ten more teams, eventually, are they going to get bowl slots of their own. No existing conference is going to give up a slot. There are already 80+ teams in bowl games, Is there room for more bowl games? Bowls expand only of CBS and Fox create new bowl games for CBS Sports network and FS1 and FS2. Are they putting up the money for new bowl games? Will they sell enough ads to cover expenses and make a few dollars. Is there a small move that makes sense geographically or financially? Do we replace Nebraska if they go back to the Big XXI? Do we replace UCLA if the California Regents votes down the move?
  2. Make sure he knows that kickoff is at !!;00 local time.
  3. It will vary from school to school where they put a section for visiting teams. Call the UB Ticket Office.
  4. This is why the transfer portal is not a disaster for the Group of 5 schools. Some will go and others will drop down.
  5. Official. New position on his Twitter bio.
  6. Barring a blowout loss they were in. If not they would have to jump Alabama over Ohio State, to avoid an all SEC and an all Big Ten semi final (rematch) set up. How do you jump Alabama over Ohio State when neither team played? Speaking of rematches, with the Big Ten getting rid of divisions, do they really want Ohio State - Michigan on back to back weekends?
  7. I think this not as bad as not playing so as to not hurt your draft chances. That is really quitting on your team.
  8. Flights booked. In and out of Atlanta. After hearing how short the drive is, it is easier to drive from Atlanta, especially to get a flight home on Wednesday morning to go to work.
  9. For those who think that UB should have changed conferences, what conference do you think would have worked both geographically and budget wise? In doing so remember that the only Power 5 conference that took G5 schools was the Big12 which was headed to oblivion after losing Texas and Oklahoma. The only move to a P5 conference that makes any sense geographically would be to replace either Nebraska or UCLA in the Big 10. However, unless we get a full share of the media deal from day 1, it will be a disaster budget wise.
  10. For the second time in three seasons the Bulls are headed to Montgomery, Alabama to play in the Cameilla Bowl. This time against Georgia Southern, led at QB Kyle Vantrease, who was UB's quarterback in 2022 for this game. Game noon EST on December 27, 2022.
  11. Ojong (DBs) is rumored to be going to Charlotte. https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-charlotte-adding-rod-ojong-to-staff
  12. Well that was less than was heard in my office during the Akron game.
  13. ESPN has UB in Boca Raton Bowl against Southern Mississippi on the 20th or Georgia Southern on the 27th in the Camelia Bowl.
  14. If UMass dropped football, who did I see UB play in Amherst, Mass. in October?
  15. What is the problem with shadows in a stadium? Shadows are great.
  16. We have not been getting "home calls" since at least 1976, 1977 for football.
  17. When I go to a game I go to see a game. Being at a game live is different than watching it at home. I have never once nor will I ever decide to go to a game because of some side show that goes on during the game. If I want music I would go to a concert, a bar or a club where music is the attraction. The food offered for sale at a game is irrelevant as well as to whether I go to a game. If I eat at a game it is some sort of junk food, popcorn or a pretzel. As for when the conference games are played, they are Tuesday and Saturdays. The Friday conference games are for TV. The two Friday night games are on CBS Sports Network and ESPNU. Possibly a Saturday could get picked up for a national broadcast, and then TV will dictate game time. When I was at UB about 15 minutes before a game we would leave the dorms and walk over to Clark Hall and watch the game, regardless of game time. Did we cheer? Yes and without a "student section" The way to get better attendance for the on campus students is to black out the games in the dorms for streaming and on TV channels. If you want to see the game they would be forced to actually go to the game.
  18. Akron working. Bowl game going, regardless of where it is.
  19. Coach Leipold signed a new contract this week. Some Details courtesy footballscoop.com: Now it has been a long time since Kansas went .500 in a regular season, but this is an extension to a coach who is 8-16 for two years. To those who do not understand why UB gives coaching extensions, when they do not like what they see on the field, it is just standard operating procedure.
  20. The next team on the APR list is UNLV. Further update: It is actually New Mexico State that was going to appeal. They now have a 12th game, They are hosting Valparaiso on Saturday. If they win they may be bowl eligible. It would given them two wins over FCS schools. They will need a waiver to go to a bowl. That being said they may have already been granted the waiver. I would think that it would be unlikely that they would schedule a game against a FCS school if they were not told a win and they are allowed to play in a bowl game.
  21. Anyone who puts a team other than one from Michigan followed by Toledo and Bowling Green in the Quick Lane Bowl does not know what they are talking about. They are selected to get people to go to Detroit the day after Christmas. Ditto for anyone during the season picking a conference leader to go to the Bahamas. Anyone going to Detroit for the conference championship game does not go to the Bahamas Bowl, equipment gets shipped before the championship game.
  22. Never even got in for one play. Nor did he make the media guide.
