  1. Well that was less than was heard in my office during the Akron game.
  2. ESPN has UB in Boca Raton Bowl against Southern Mississippi on the 20th or Georgia Southern on the 27th in the Camelia Bowl.
  3. If UMass dropped football, who did I see UB play in Amherst, Mass. in October?
  4. What is the problem with shadows in a stadium? Shadows are great.
  5. We have not been getting "home calls" since at least 1976, 1977 for football.
  6. When I go to a game I go to see a game. Being at a game live is different than watching it at home. I have never once nor will I ever decide to go to a game because of some side show that goes on during the game. If I want music I would go to a concert, a bar or a club where music is the attraction. The food offered for sale at a game is irrelevant as well as to whether I go to a game. If I eat at a game it is some sort of junk food, popcorn or a pretzel. As for when the conference games are played, they are Tuesday and Saturdays. The Friday conference games are for TV. The two Friday night games are on CBS Sports Network and ESPNU. Possibly a Saturday could get picked up for a national broadcast, and then TV will dictate game time. When I was at UB about 15 minutes before a game we would leave the dorms and walk over to Clark Hall and watch the game, regardless of game time. Did we cheer? Yes and without a "student section" The way to get better attendance for the on campus students is to black out the games in the dorms for streaming and on TV channels. If you want to see the game they would be forced to actually go to the game.
  7. Akron working. Bowl game going, regardless of where it is.
  8. Coach Leipold signed a new contract this week. Some Details courtesy footballscoop.com: Now it has been a long time since Kansas went .500 in a regular season, but this is an extension to a coach who is 8-16 for two years. To those who do not understand why UB gives coaching extensions, when they do not like what they see on the field, it is just standard operating procedure.
  9. The next team on the APR list is UNLV. Further update: It is actually New Mexico State that was going to appeal. They now have a 12th game, They are hosting Valparaiso on Saturday. If they win they may be bowl eligible. It would given them two wins over FCS schools. They will need a waiver to go to a bowl. That being said they may have already been granted the waiver. I would think that it would be unlikely that they would schedule a game against a FCS school if they were not told a win and they are allowed to play in a bowl game.
  10. Anyone who puts a team other than one from Michigan followed by Toledo and Bowling Green in the Quick Lane Bowl does not know what they are talking about. They are selected to get people to go to Detroit the day after Christmas. Ditto for anyone during the season picking a conference leader to go to the Bahamas. Anyone going to Detroit for the conference championship game does not go to the Bahamas Bowl, equipment gets shipped before the championship game.
  11. Never even got in for one play. Nor did he make the media guide.
  12. Regardless of your thoughts, if they win they will go to a bowl game. The will need two 5-7 teams to fill all of the slots in bowl games. The first slot goes to Auburn based upon APR. Not sure who gets the second slot. New Mexico is appealing to be taken at 5-6. They played 11 games because a game against San Jose State was cancelled because of the death of a player on San Jose State.
  13. Will not be Detroit or the Bahamas. Eastern will go to Detroit. Miami is in the Bahamas. I think we will go west, Arizona or Boise.
  14. As opposed to them winning the East? If they won and Kent State won they would have gone to Detroit. So you think they were tanking to to keep the East title away from UB?
  15. For what it is worth, the issue is not confined to Alumni Arena. It is an issue across the entire campus. It applies to both Main Street and Amherst.
  16. UB beat Ohio 3-1 to advance to the semi finals. They play Bowling Green tonight at 7:00 on ESPN3.
  17. Field house is too small to play a real game. Not enough room on sidelines or at the end of the end zones. If fine for practice, but not a game.
  18. From the more post quoted above: I guess the game will be played if we need a win to become bowl eligible. If Ohio and UB win next week the game will not be played.
  19. Postponed indefinitely. https://ubbulls.com/news/2022/11/19/akron-at-buffalo-football-game-postponed-indefinitely.aspx
  20. Per athletics they will try to play Sunday. This would not be the first time that a game was moved to a Sunday in the regular season. In 2006 hte Miami game was moved to Sunday, because of snow.
  21. This game has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled..
