  1. Not when it comes to athletics. I know people who were working at Stony Brook when they were moving from Division III to Division I. The only thing that has changed is that they get mentioned when they were in the America East championship game. Otherwise absolutely nothing in the media, even with their move to the CAA.
  2. The push to name the flagships campuses was because it is to help with getting research dollars and to expand support education. It was not done for athletics. Also UB has a better chance of getting the necessary support from the community than Stony Brook. Stony Brook is not even a blip on the radar in the area. UB is much more than a blip on the Western New York radar.
  3. He played JUCO, because his first year at Eastern Michigan he was listed a s sophomore. He gets another year because 2020 did not count.
  4. As far as who is new you will fins out on Wednesday. A press release with all of the new signees will be released on Wednesday, National Signing Day. It may also be released again on Thursday (think about it).
  5. San Diego has fewer professional teams than Buffalo. They have the Padres and I do not think the local fan base is as obsessed with the Padres as people in Buffalo are witht he Bills and Sabres.
  6. Who cares? No students live nearby? That's a weak excuse and ridiculous that the students are never around for over half of the basketball season. The apathy is evident. During winter break Alumni is always empty in the student section. Students living off campus just do not come to games during the break. This happens every year and the same complaints are posted here every year.
  7. The Spring Semester begins Monday. The students have been away since mid-December.
  8. Really you would want a guy in the middle of an NCAA investigation? I do not think so.
  9. For all who want to bring Hurley back, how many coaches have ever done as well the second time in the same job as they did the first time around in any sport? Very fwe and far between.
  10. McGovern backed Eagleton 1000% in 1972. How did that workout?
  11. If he is a transfer from Holy Cross, that could be the reason he changed schools. UB plays Holy Cross in week two this fall.
  12. Not yet. The spring semester begins January, 31.
  13. This is not new. Verbal commits changing their mind is nothing new. Nothing is real until they sign the NLI.
  14. Time to move on from Ball State. 8:00 PM on CBS Sports Network plus the radio and streaming.
  15. Game tonight at 7:00. In addition to the radio streams and ESPN3, it will be available on the ESPN College Sports Extra package on DIrectv, Channel 790 or 791.
  16. He would be the third player from City College of San Francisco to come to Buffalo after Khalil Hodge and OJ Simpson.
  17. Silver lining I will not be watching them on my phone while at the wrestling match at Hofstra.
  18. No it has not. The area has 2 baseball teams, two football teams (allegedly), two basketball teams and three hockey teams. It is not a college sports area. It will not become a college sports area. Rutgers, which is 20 minutes from the southern most part of New York City, despite being in the Big 10, is a non-entity on the New York sports scene. Stony Brook will not take the area as the college team.
  19. Today UB was named the co-flagship university within the SUNY System along with Stony Brook. Both are the only AAU institutions in the system. Would have preferred being the only one, but this is better than not having the designation. http://www.buffalo.edu/home/story-repository.host.html/content/shared/university/news/news-center-releases/2022/01/007.detail.html
  20. The who sets the rules? No one? By the way the most hypocritical thing going is schools complaining about the NCAA rules. They voted for them.
