I am personally shocked that 2 players would follow the coach that recruited/mentored them 90min away to play for a higher profile team.

No but Oats has the awareness to identify this as the problem and presents it as one that he wasn’t able to fix. We just watched our 3rd season without identify, leadership, and consistency. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t believe I’ve heard Whitesell speak about it this way. If Oats has that same problem 3 years in a row you better believe he’ll be on the hot seat. and yes, of course I acknowledge there are may factors at play I just don’t think this year was isolate — instead it is part of a pattern.

Yes. I'm small potatoes. The funds that I made available for donation didn't move any needles. I'm aware of this. AND I donated for 2 years, watched the school get a significant buy-out and then went hired a "safe" coach with a non-competitive salary, perhaps that contributed to the lack of Basketball Excellence? What should lead me to believe that additional dollars would be used differently this time?

I was donating to the Basketball Excellence Fund. The school did not invest in basketball excellence. I don’t think my funds were restrictive and I don’t think a poor investment is a “speed bump”.
