Wish they never let it get close but it’s good that they had to find the fight in them, keep it rolling against toledo. Didn’t get to watch any of it but looking at the final boxscore it seems we didn’t get the short end of the stick with officiating with 16/22 FT’s vs only 9/12 for BG? Good 3P shooting (8/18) by UB vs bad for BG (5/27) seemed to be the big difference in this one. Watson leading the way with 24 pts including 4/8 from 3. The calls against Buffalo, however, were critically timed. They call an offensive foul on Watson negating a basket with a BG flop, then on the next possession Rana gets called for a blocking foul that should have been a charge as compared to the Watson charge. We were severely out rebounded which was a big reason it was so close. There were a number of 50/50 balls that could have been BG fouls that became BG offensive rebounds. It will likely be more of the same Friday, but we can savor this. BB loses her entire staff and recruiting class, somehow improves on both within 3 months, gets to a 4 seed (predicted finish 10th), FPOY, arguably POY(1st team at least) and a quarterfinal win. We made the plays in the last couple minutes and BG rebounding advantage was offset by our 48% from the field and 44% from 3 point line and the free throw difference for us. Just a gritty win and now to see how we can compete against a very good Toledo team. Congrats to the entire team for a great win especially when you can beat a team three times. If a 5'3 point guard can get 1 (almost 2) triple-doubles, 5'10"-6'2" people should be able to be better than -15 on the boards. Hopefully we focus on that before tomorrow at 10am. Language is overblown in this age of PC crap and hurting peoples feelings.
