Agree with both of you 100% - would be perfectly happy if he plays so well that transfer becomes a possibility - as this will hopefully mean team success. UB has been very good of late parlaying on-court success to keeping transfers to a minimum, but it will impact us at some point I am afraid. As a case in point, here is latest year 'success' of keeping people out of the portal vs the MAC - we only lost 1.4% of our total minutes to portal.

You know, I read through these threads, and theyre common amongst many fansites, and it leaves me with this solitary, and depressing thought..... If World War 2 (The last time this country and its people were really tested) happened today, theres no way in hell the United States would have survived.

This is where I am. It's an empty gesture that flies in the face of all available data on transmission. It burns valuable public patience and compliance that is actually needed elsewhere. But I'll be at the games, mask casually in the vicinity of my face, enjoying it all.

I am. The portal doesn’t bother me. It is just an extension of college sports in general. Rosters are always changing.

Great post, I had similar thoughts. Deep down though, in dark places usually best left unexplored, another thought began to sprout. His progress will continue at UB, and in three years he will be portal’d to Tech, or another program that just began to follow him. UBFandom will turn into a pitchfork and torch carrying mob, calling for the heads of all unfaithful student athletes. Good thing I plucked that thought like a weed, before it could mature and grow fruit.

While we love the bigs that we have on the roster, guard play wins games. Just look at the national title game. We loaded up on bigs, now time to solidify the backcourt. Love this addition.

Ok, let's wear cloth masks (that have no scientific proof of effectiveness), outside (where the virus minimally spreads), while vaccinated and generally healthy (.0007% covid deaths of vaccinated people). Enjoy living in your world. Again, if you'd like to, or feel more comfortable wearing a mask, have at it. I'm not going to however, when there is essentially unlimited scientfic data proving it is completely unnecessary outside while healthy and vaccinated. Disappointing to be unable to attend, but it is what it is, so long as unnecessary mandates are in place by UB. The players who are in each other's faces breathing on each other won't be wearing a mask, but those sitting in the stands must, because you know, "science".

While I agree that mandating masks for outdoor events is gross overkill, I certainly wouldn't miss a game because they tell me that I have to wear one. That makes absolutely no sense if you really like going to the games.

Yeah it sucks having to wear a mask to games but it’s better than not being able to go to them like last season
