  1. Lance never had heralded recruiting classes. But he developed them like crazy and recruited to his system. That’s all I ask for. MAC level guys aren’t watched super closely.

  2. Alnutt takes criticism which he should. But he’s not a complete idiot. That product Mo put on the field last season had to embarrass the heck out of the AD. Those last 4 games on the ESPN networks were low FCS quality football at best. maybe even worse. I think this is a good choice to get the program in the right direction.

  3. Both Rana and Lewis-Williams with way too many turnovers and we have seen the trend now from these MAC teams. When Watson gets the ball out on the perimeter they double her and pressure her and she still tries to drive through them. Other players have to be open and you would think the coaching staff should figure out a different offensive philosophy. Do not understand why Ogden was not on the floor in the 4th quarter especially when she did hit some early three’s. Still think Davis needs to play more minutes if and it is a big if she can stay out of foul trouble. Still think this team is a work in progress and will see if anything will change as the season continues. The Bowling Green game on Wednesday will be a challenge as they have a better overall lineup than WMU.

  4. So, Lembo was coach of Lehigh when they beat us back in 2002. I like the hire....

  5. I'm a fan of the hire. I covered Ball State a little bit when I was a sports anchor in Fort Wayne. My BSU connections were all positive about Lembo at that time and thought he was a solid head coach. Buffalo is looking for someone to stabilize their program and be here for the long haul. Lembo knows how to run a D1 football team and has won at the MAC level with lesser resources than he'll have going forward. I think we're going to need to be patient but I'm confident Lembo has what it takes to win at UB.

  6. Checks some of the boxes I was looking for. I’m trying to be positive. The last guy was a clown show. At least Lembo has been there and done it before. Seems like a safe choice, but that’s kind of what UB needs at this time. Get the program back on track.

  7. Peter Lembo (born April 16, 1970) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the associate head coach and special teams coordinator at the University of South Carolina. In 2022, Lembo oversaw the highest rated special teams unit in college football with the Gamecocks. Prior to that, he was the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator at the University of Memphis, a position he assumed in January 2019. Prior to Memphis, he was the associate head coach and special teams coordinator at Rice University. Before joining the coaching staff at Rice University, he was the head coach at Lehigh University from 2001 to 2005, at Elon Universityfrom 2006 to 2010, and at Ball State Universityfrom 2011 to 2015. He was also the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator at the University of Maryland for two seasons. Lembo enjoyed success in each of his three stops as a head coach and accumulated a 112–65 career record over a 15-year period. His 79–36 record in ten seasons at the FCS level makes him one of the winningest coaches in the history of that classification. Also 2 Patriot League Championships. you want a winner at a lower division? He was really good at FCS. Could end up as a pretty good hire. He has spent time at an SEC school and BIG10 school recently and #1 special teams unit in the country. If he’s the guy, I’m ready to rally behind him.

  8. Can't be worse than what we've had the past 3 years.

  9. Well, now that we have a coach, can we get a quarterback? I'd have preferred a successful FCS, DII or DIII coach, but would love to have to eat those words.

  10. I just realized that while Tunney was playing for the Brantford Majors, there was another up and coming kid playing for the Brantford Steelers (Minor Hockey)....some 10 year old guy by the name of Gretzky. A lot of good came out of (1971) Brantford.

  11. Without him UB athletics would still be at the bottom on the MAC with regard to their infrastructure. It's pretty sad that someone could have anything negative to say regarding his positive impact on UB. There's no one more worthy of a spot in the HoF than him.

  12. I heard that he did call his Administrative Assistant and thank her for everything.
