  1. That's a funny reference. I'm guessing that very few on this board know what you're talking about with the 6 on 6.
  2. Kinda like the "talk" that she had with Coach Jack right after the MAC Championship game. I'd bet money that she was saying, I'm going, and I want you to go with me, during that hug.
  3. Former Wilson girls basketball coach Doug Myer recognized early on that Zakiyah Winfield’s passion for basketball was virtually unmatched. “She loved to play basketball,” Myer said. “She just had that drive to win.” I'm really liking the players that Coach Burke is bringing in.
  4. The thing is, you never know when a coach, especially a new coach, has suggested to a player that they enter the portal because they don't fit into the new system.
  5. https://gscpioneers.com/news/2022/4/6/womens-basketball-re-shawna-stone-named-division-ii-national-player-of-the-year-by-world-exposure-report.aspx Looks like an awesome get.
  6. Looks like Perkins and Watson are from the same high school.
  7. You gotta remember, nearly every D-1 recruit was the BMOC at their high school. Many, maybe even most, of them come out being used to being fawned over. They show up at their respective college with a chip on their shoulder, not thinking that, Hey, everyone else in the room was the BMOC in high school. Practicing and competing alongside a bunch of mates at the same level (or higher) as you has a way of taming that arrogance. My wife told me about a certain local RB that came to UB about a decade ago. He'd walk into the office acting like his crap didn't stink. Didn't say hello, just walked through. By the time he was a sophomore, his attitude was starting to change. By his Junior and Senior years, he was a team leader, with lots of personality.
  8. Do you have inside info on this, or is it something that you just hypothesized?
  9. Now, she should start by getting Fair back in the fold.
  10. Problem with going from school to school to school, is that many college credits don't transfer in all cases. A person transferring often, has a slim chance at getting a degree. If that's not a priority, why bother making them keep their grades up, or even making them attend classes for that matter.
  11. Sorry John, I should have added context. I have no qualms with her moving on up. She has more than earned it. The tearing down I refer to is the poaching of our roster.
  12. She built it. I guess she finds no shame in tearing it down.
  13. I too will be sad if she leaves. I'll be mad if she decimates the team.
  14. As the gentleman in front of me Saturday said, "there's likely going to be other big name schools looking at her as well."
  15. Sounds to me like you're saying, just because it's socially acceptable, doesn't make it right. If that's what you're saying, I agree with you 100%
  16. Saturday was a great game. Ball St. never gave up, and gave us a run for our money, just as they did during the 2 regular season games (1-1). Ball St. Coach is very whiney. Loved riding him a bit. With the men not being in the finals, we had all day after the game to check out the establishments. Cold AF walking from place to place. Now, let's get it done in round 1 of the dance.
  17. Tickets purchased. Hotel booked. See you at Southern Tier Brewing around 10 a.m.
  18. There's always a Covid year available for some.
  19. Fair with 16 points and 3 assists at the half. Summer has 10 rebounds already.
