  1. Felisha Legette Jack had a 141-163 record between her previous two jobs before coming to UB. Since then, she's gone 143-86.
  2. I think an endorsement from the players would help, but we shouldn't be making decisions based on "if he doesn't stay I'm gone" Need to build the program for long term success. If it means hiring the right guy but having some players leave, so be it. Remember when a player went to Toledo after committing to UB when Hurley left? We made the right decision to hire Oats.
  3. That's absolutely not true. We probably aimed higher than we should have. Our last hires have been from oldest to newest: Community College coach of 2 years, A-10 assistant of a year (assistant for 3 years total), internal hire who was a HS coach/math teacher previously. We were looking at tenured assistants at power schools.
  4. On the other hand he might have a better offer lined up already. I would be fine with him, not heartbroken if we don't get him. Similar to how I felt about Lainer.
  5. Don't disrespect Brock like that๐Ÿ˜€
  6. An absolute beast. Imagine Dillard as PG and Hudson as SG on the same team.
  7. Worked (kinda) for us and Shannon Evans.
  8. MSU landed in the Twin Cities today. I'm sure there's maybe one or two other job seekers there too but that's a lot more encouraging than Buffalo, NY or hell any other place right now.
  9. I'm sure he wouldn't trash him on social media regardless. Also ๐Ÿ‘€ tweet sent from Bloomington, MN.
  10. Seems odd given Segu's RT. Inclined to not believe what he said. Don't think it matters much one way or the other now.
  11. Transfer rumor/news. WBB Blog has posted that freshman Alexis Adams will be transferring from Buffalo.
  12. This is probably new topic territory, but I don't see a perfect way of doing it. Let players sell their autographs and the bagman for LSU is dropping $10k for some autographs. Pay the players - you need to pay everybody. The 5* QB that's risking millions by playing in the Rose Bowl gets the same pay check as the track and field athlete that sees a few people cheer him on at his meet. Mid major athletics dies and the divide between huge budget programs and those with smaller budgets gets wider. I wish the system was better, but don't know how it gets fixed.
  13. I guess it very much depends on the person as well as the industry and job. I'm sure the answer would lean more towards no in non-profits, government work, and charities, and more towards yes in sales and at corporations. Maybe that's what did it? ๐Ÿ˜
  14. I did. Maybe she's happy with what she has here and either will stay here forever or will be extremely selective as to where she goes if she goes. If somebody tripled your salary for the same job with more resources (but higher expectations), would you leave your job?
  15. Wonder if the Silver Bulls played a small part in the decision? There's a significant contingent of supporters at WBB games now. I'm sure Penn State has a similar group of supporters, but Silver Bulls seem to know and interact with the coaches/students at a personal level.
  16. Leipold, Oats, Stutzman. Who's next? Tennis? http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/wrest/2018-19/releases/20190403gicry9
  17. ha ha Bonnies draw less for a championship game on broadcast TV on the same network as the selection show than the women do for a run of the mill first round victory vs Buttgers on ESPN2. Bona should look at joining the MAAC, they would be much more competitive there than the A-10. On the other hand their annual loss to Niagara would count as a conference loss unfortunately.
  18. I wonder how much better of a job NO could have gotten if he didn't take Alabama. Virginia Tech would have been a big upgrade, though no lake for his boat. VT is a decent tier 2 team in the ACC, while Alabama is a bottom tier SEC team. Penn State vs UB is an interesting choice. I think there's some decent advantages to UB, but do agree that this seems to not be a "give me money, where do I sign?" transaction. Location: Her son is in school at GW in DC, both BUF and SCE have direct flights. Buffalo is 2 hours closer to mom in Syracuse. Advantage: UB, by a little Program (Basketball): UB women's basketball in recent history is 100% FLJ. Penn State has a lengthier history. Advantage: Penn State Program (Overall): We can't compete Advantage: Penn State, by a lot AD: I'm not sure of FLJ's relationship with ADMA, however I don't see why it would be anything but positive. The Penn State fanbase is not happy with Sandy Barbour. Advantage: UB Job Security: I am of the opinion that it would take a lot for FLJ to get fired at UB for performance. Like 3-4 years at the bottom of the conference or 6+ years without a NCAA appearance. Penn State might not be as forgiving. Advantage: UB Salary: Penn State would roughly triple FLJ's salary. Advantage: Penn State
  19. So either sheโ€™s going somewhere else (currently Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and now Marquette are open - none of which I could see her taking) or weโ€™re really building this.
  20. Pack it up folks, UB kicked out of FBS. You heard it first here
  21. Neither are required sports for the AAC
  22. Segu followed La Salle assistant on Twitter. No point guards on the roster currently at La Salle.
