  1. This year’s committee... http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/mens-basketball-selections-101-committee Make of it what you will
  2. Dude I hope you’re right. I feel they don’t deserve it. Them and Texas don’t. But they both had top notch wins. We will see. But I agree with you and hope you are right. But they committee has done crazy things before.
  3. Fire codes were meant to be broken lol. Pack it till people are standing on other people. I’m joking obviously. And @squire17 I’m not getting at you, but we can’t complain when it’s not packed and complain when it is packed.
  4. The selection committee is always gonna favor major teams. Which is why as inconsistent as they are Indiana will get in. Texas will get in. St. Johns will get in. They are supposed to use all the metrics in their decision making and not just lean on one. Thing is I think they don’t actually watch teams and games throughout the season. They lean too much on numbers that can be manipulated to support any argument. Relating this to us...currently I think we are safely in. And that we are playing for seeding at this point. I feel like somehow we are still gonna be seeded a seed or 2 too low though. Our non conference slate took a big hit when WVU ish the bed all year. And it wouldn’t shock me that we got penalized for that and not blowing teams out during conference play, like stupid Wofford has done. Relating this all to us in the future...the model is there. Oats has done a great job of scheduling in the non conference. We know teams won’t go to us so let’s go to them. Then schedule cupcakes at home. Put a non conference tourney in there and we should have good metrics. Then on great years dominate the MAC. In down years still be in contention to secure the auto bid. The beauty of playing in a mid major conference is that we always have the hope of winning the conference tournament. Bc let’s face it, a team as dominate as Gonzaga won’t happen all the time. So in most years the conference will always be up for grabs in March. It’s always an uphill battle for mid majors but at the end of the day a 3/4 game winning streak in March is all you need to go dancing. And usually in most mid majors there is no one team that perennially runs the conference. Unless your name is Gonzaga.
  5. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/03/01/tyree-jackson-buffalo-nfl-draft-2019-combine Here’s an interesting article. There is a quote from Tyree that says he’s never been exposed to certain things when it comes to refining his mechanics. Makes me question the staff at UB. Did we just let him be and win games purely on his natural talents? Or did we actually try to develop him while winning games?
  6. I’m sorry but slant routes, in routes and routes across the middle (like a guantlet drill is) need to be thrown hard bc of small windows. Screw Steve Smith...receivers in the NFL have to catch rockets plain and simple and if these kids at the combine can’t catch then their stock should fall. Smith was sticking up for wide outs. Completely biased. Also I forgot who tweeted it but scouts and NFL front office heads said Jackson’s arm while good isn’t the best they’ve seen. So for Smith to interrupt a combine get off a set and do this...he was in the wrong.
  7. Last true road game of the season. We have a tendency to lose focus on the road so I hope we come out and take it to Ohio. No doubt at home when we hit a lull the team feeds off the crowd to get them through it. On the road we tend to get complacent. Let’s get one more road win and come home for Friday’s festivities. Go Bulls. PS...will Jeremy Harris please show up
  8. Yes it shows you how finicky the selection process is. I was simple just saying that it’s nice that our two big wins have not gone unnoticed. Whereas with the men we win and get no credit bc we aren’t blowing teams out. Also the ladies have a home game against BG Wednesday. Must win against the leagues worst team that beat us. Then they close with Kent which is on the road and will impact seeding.
  9. This is kinda big. Last week we were in the next four out line. That’s a pretty big jump. Good to get some recognition for beating the two top Mac teams record wise. Gotta keep the momentum going. Very winnable games to close out the season. Gotta win them. Then let’s make a Mac tourney run.
  10. Yea. In one of my post shortly after this quote I address the whole football being an issue thing.
  11. Yea but...the ACC is not gonna want little ole us. The ACC is massive as it is. I think the best conference is the Big East. Geographically makes sense. We would move up to a good basketball conference that may be looking to expand. But I just found the problem with the Big East...no football. Ugh. Which takes it back to the Big 10.
  12. According to the all mighty Lunardi, he has Marquette as a 4. Us as a 6. With their loss I don’t see them dropping two seed lines and falling behind us. Plus they beat us head to head. I think it’s best if teams like Maryland, K-State, stupid Wofford, Miss St, to name a few, lose games. They are teams seeded on the 5,6,7 lines.
  13. Definitely bad for us I would say. I would say that we want all our opponents that we’ve played to win as much as possible. Just look at how WVU’s lost season has hurt us.
  14. I think joining the AAC is a bad idea just from a travel logistics point of view. Imagine the expense of having to travel to Tulane, SMU or USF to name a few. Would joining that conference outweigh the expense??? I rather join the Big 10 or Big East. As pipedreamy as those may be. Geographically makes most sense. Big East to me is more attainable since they only have 10 teams and might be looking to expand to 12 or more.
  15. I’m a bit surprised by Nevada. They didn’t particularly schedule well in the non conference and in watching the game last night...lots of iso ball. No fluidity in a half court set. Shocking for a bunch of guys who are seniors.
  16. I think it’s pretty much coming down to us and Arkansas. I have a strong feeling we might land him. It’s just a gut feeling. But I think this is best opportunity bc all the other P6 schools will bury him in the depth chart
  17. I’m pretty sure that at some point in the near future before the season begins a date can be scheduled in which we have a home game (probably easier during non conference play) and UAB doesn’t play at all that way Turner can travel to Buffalo to be honored properly without it being an inconvenience to his job.
  18. It’s that time of year where one well timed winning streak can take you places. So even garbage teams have hope. I lived the Ohio comeback and bc of that I wanna wipe the floor with them at every opportunity.
  19. Alumni is a fine game atmosphere. What we need is a dedicated practice/training facility. One with modern amenities. Weight room, training room, locker rooms, practice courts and film room. That’s where the student athletes spend most their time. That’s what we can sell on the recruiting trail. There’s nothing wrong with Alumni for 2 hours a game. We need the ancillary stuff that make players want to come here.
  20. Lock up a top 4 seed and just win the Mac tourney. Leave no doubt.
  21. Oooo. Style points. Points that don’t count. They are a nice story and a team that could win one game in the big dance. Just way over hyped imo. If they get seeded higher than us I’ll lose my lid.
  22. Slightly off topic and a rant/vent by me but why is Wofford all of a sudden a thing??? I’m seeing them seeded 8th or higher. How!!!! Sure they went undefeated in conference play but they have literally beat nobody. They played high major teams in the non conference but lost those games. They have Q1 wins only bc the next 3 teams after them in their conference have lofty records. Teams like Furman, ETSU and UNC Greensboro. The latter two have beat nobody. It’s like Wofford is getting credit for losing to high majors. Wofford’s best win is against Furman, twice. Furman’s best win is against Nova. I get that Wofford is undefeated in conference and I respect that they are ranked, but an 8 seed!? Gotta be kidding me. To me our body of work is more impressive and we are barely a 7 seed.
  23. I hope Ohio is blowing their load today.
  24. I think what this shows you is that we have some prognosticators who believe in us and some like last night who said we should be an 8-9 seed. Opinions are mixed bc we haven’t blown out every Mac team we’ve played. We are losing the style points game but winning actual games on the road! We are a tournament team. We are a lock. Seed us where ever and we will come to play and can play with anybody. Go Bulls!
  25. Agreed. I said it before...if we win out and enter the tourney at 31-3 as MAC regular season and tournament champs we can be rewarded with as high as a 4 seed IF the committee rewards us. Realistically if we win out we SHOULD be a 5. If we lose one more game I can’t see us dropping lower than an 8-9 (which are basically the same). But something tells me we are going to be a 6 or 7 seed.
