  1. I agree. Teams are gonna start to sag off Harris and let him shoot rather than have him drive around them like he was able to do so well against Arizona last year. The last two games I feel his minutes have been down (someone fact check me) and against Akron he wasn’t on the court in crunch time. Last night I didn’t see him hustle for loose balls and I saw him rush shots and his body language was bad. Seems like it’s gotten to him mentally. If he isn’t gonna shoot well from deep he can contribute in other ways but if he gets defeated mentally and checks out then he is hurting his team. We still have time to get him going. Hopefully he steps up and gets some confidence back.
  2. We see flashes of good and flashes of bad. But that’s a freshman for you. Also they don’t play very many minutes...8-10 a game if they are lucky. So not much in game reps for them. I thought Williams was good tonight. Hit a 3 and had 4 boards, 3 of which were O-boards. Their time will come and I have all the confidence in the staff to grow and develop them. Their weaknesses are easily correctable and coachable. I keep using Graves as the example of the kind of leap they can make from year 1 to year 2. I agree Segu needs to fill out more physically, develop a pull up jumper and run the offense better. And that both players need to work on their defense. I feel Williams will be the better defender in the long run but the talent is there in both of them. Their time will come and their best games are ahead of them.
  3. Next year. Next year we will lose games like this on the road. And Miami will be better as their underclassmen age. But that’s next year. For tonight we leave Oxford with the W.
  4. All we do is win win win no matter what! Call it ugly call it whatever. We won. I rather win ugly than lose pretty. Yea we didn’t shoot particularly well. Yea we missed free throws and yea we turned the ball over (mostly in the 1st half, only 3 in the 2nd half) but we won another road game. The one thing I’m deeply concerned about is Harris. His game all around has deteriorated. He needs to find himself. And fast.
  5. https://goo.gl/images/iyP7dL For all of us who can dream...forget bowl seating this is the way to go. This is an image of Ole Miss arena seating chart. I dig it even more so than Houston’s arena. Hold 9,500
  6. My one issue with this article is that is says we’ve barely been tested. I guess 10 true road victories (12 if you count neutral sites) in hostile environments means nothing. Still have two more true road games. Whoever wrote this sounds like they really haven’t followed us closely.
  7. Big time win. I guess Cierra was really was sick last week and coach was right. Some big games coming up for the ladies. Miami (who lost last night) at home over the weekend is another huge one. Let’s keep the big mo going. Hopefully we can get to 20 wins and clinch a top 4 seed for the tourney. I wonder if this win moved the needle for us in terms of getting an at large bid? Imagine what beating the two “best” teams in the conference back to back could do for us and our resume. Go lady Bulls!
  8. Hard to ignore what Rick Barnes has done at Tennessee. It’s great that Oats is on this list. Great exposure and notoriety.
  9. I love when they call a player a dog...means he gets after it.
  10. Solid overall win last night. I love when other teams try to impose their will on us and we respond and say ok we will play your style and beat you. That’s what we did last night. We tightened up the D in the 2nd half and Akron went cold from outside. We pounded the ball inside to Perk and got them in foul trouble. Good adjustments made and a good win. On any night any of our guys can beat you and last night was the big 2 (CJ and Perk) and Graves. Still hoping Harris steps up as the calendar turns to March. At this point I’m worried bc with him hitting shots we are so much better. But we still are balanced to overcome his poor shooting. One thing of concern are the silly fouls Dontay and Jordan are picking up. Also the tech that Perkins got. Albeit he dominated after but we have to be more composed than that. If Dontay drives to the rim misses and feels he was fouled he can’t get up and commit a frustration foul. Gotta be more composed. Onto Miami.
  11. Who knew one ranked season would make us such a wine and cheese fan base lol. As long as no one is cursing keep bringing the noise and bring the funk.
  12. I agree. But it’s not out of the realm of possibility. We are currently 16th in the Net rankings. Which equates to a 4 seed. Keep winning and we will definitely shoot up. Just a matter of how high and is the committee going to screw us. But I agree anywhere from 5-7 is more likely.
  13. I wouldn’t mind a rematch. And I love that we are in Hartford. But what’s most important is that Lunardi moved us up a seed from 7 to 6. If we win out we could potentially be as high as a 5. No lower than a 6. If we win out and enter the big dance as Mac regular season and tournament champs with a record of 31-3 could we be a 4 seed? Either way it’s all right there in front of us. Keep winning.
  14. Piggy backing off previous comments I think having already played them we can study the film and look to exploit them. I feel like this game in the end won’t be close...we have too much firepower. Unless their 3s fall, and they chuck up a lot of them not at a high percentage just volume, they can’t hang. Let’s close out this homestand with another big victory. Go Bulls!!!
  15. I think Perkins might not wanna give up the 6th man award so easily lol. Gonna be a battle between he and Dontay.
  16. I was there for the largest crowd pre-renovation and it was great...can only imagine what yesterday was like. Two more home games left. I suspect senior night will break yesterday’s post renovation record. I also love that you guys are all making plans for Cleveland. Soon we can make some big dance plans too!
  17. No hate no dislike. Just love the player we have in CJ. Love the team we’ve built. And just having fun with the whole Navigato/CJ narrative.
  18. This is what P5 schools do. They are always looking for better talent. Then hedge their bets. And in cases where they land both they usually play the higher recruit. Which is why if Hawkins wants growth and playing time his best bet is us bc Arkansas is always going to be looking for better. Even if that better is someone in 2020. P5 schools recruit from a position of greed and we have to be more strategic with our offers. Use Arkansas as an example...they have no Junior or Senior centers on their roster. A 4 star sophomore center and a 2 star center returning next season. 5 returning power forwards. 2 of which are 3 star or better. They have 3 current offers out to centers including Hawkins. The other two are rated higher. Point is it’s easier for Hawkins to go there and get buried on the depth chart whereas here he could have more impact sooner. Especially since most of our future bigs are Jucos.
  19. Guys I want to apologize for being ABSOLUTELY WRONG. As the season progresses and teams jockey up and down the net rankings, games CAN bounce between quads. Our game and victory against San Fran is now a quad 1 win...for now. We will see at seasons end if it remains that way. My bad for giving out wrong info. Here’s a great article explaining it all... https://buffalonews.com/2019/02/21/ub-mens-basketball-ncaa-tournament-mac-quadrants-net-west-virginia-kent-state-2019/
  20. You guys think Dontay is this year’s 6th man of the year winner?
  21. I’m just providing some conversation based on what’s been in the news. Yes the nba has smart ppl but they are always going to work in favor of the nba. I can see the league allowing high schoolers and using the G League as a minor league. That’s been rumored. Of course this is a ways away and all will be determined by a new CBA but just some food for thought. Athletes wanna get paid...eventually they will, by whom is the question.
  22. We got CJ when Navigato bailed. IDK about Bearden...
  23. Safe to say we dodged that bullet. Is it me or has Navigato put on weight too? Either way thank the heavens for CJ.
  24. I hope you guys are right. There’s always a trickle down. And usually the little guys get screwed. Using CJ as an example. Maybe in the future a person like him would have had more options and he wouldn’t have fallen into our laps. Now that we are moving up in the world of recruiting I would hate to see the bigger programs come swimming in our end of the pool for recruits bc their end was being drained by the NBA. I def hope I’m wrong but this will be interesting once the time comes.
