  1. I completely agree. Back in the bleacher days we would all pack in and stand for the entire game at center court. By moving the student section back to center court the place would be louder and more intimidating to the opponent also. And since every game is now televised who wants to see ppl sitting on the butts? I wanna see the students jumping yelling and getting loud. The locals can fill up the seats that aren’t seen on tv.
  2. I remember the days of the football team losing to Colgate and Shaggy and Tony Hawk being the halftime show. Also remember the first sea of blue against Kent State. I attribute that game as being the beginning of this long journey. That set the foundation. Shoutout to all the mighty maniacs. And yea I agree I feel the boards were more active back then. But hey let’s get it rolling now.

  4. Nice! Let’s get after some more talent.
  5. Big time get. On paper I like the size and stature. Add him to the two JUCOs already committed and we have length coming in next season. The two transfers to provide senior leadership hopefully. Along with another year of Jordan and Graves, etc. And a blossoming Williams and Segu. Next year will be a “down year” comparative to the expectations of this season but future remains bright and the cupboard stocked. Does this complete our recruiting for next season?
  6. Got my subscription to ESPN+ and a few brews, I’m ready to rock. Let’s go boys!
  7. How do you guys feel about a 9 seed? Realistically I think it may be a seed or two too high and I don't like the idea of going up against a #1 seed so soon. I feel like the committee does this often where they give a top mid major a top seed as soon as possible so that they get knockout sooner and blue bloods move on. Just think about the treatment Wichita State has gotten in past tournaments. That said we can smoke Wisconsin because their style of play is slow ball. Kansas however...may be the best team in the country. Although they tend to choke in tournaments.
  8. Consider this...had we been able to upset Kentucky, and honestly we were in that game until the final 6-8, we could've beaten Kansas State and it could of been us versus Loyola in the Regional Final. My point is we were so close last season to a final four. This season will come down to 3 things 1) Can we play up to our potential and expectations 2) How will we handle those expectations and 3) How significant will Wes Clark graduating be? We are a dark horse but boy do I feel like the dream of a final four is actually a reality. A win at West Virginia, Cuse or Marquette will prove we are legit. Our non-conference schedule is difficult so right away we will be tested and come March hopefully we run the MAC tourney and wreck some brackets.
  9. https://twitter.com/mikemeiler/status/1058163866914508800 Summer Hemphill academically ineligible for the fall

German was also charged with battery from a August 7th incident.
  11. http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/buffalo We go where Oats take us. He and the staff have already begun recruiting for 2020 and beyond. We know the style that we play so we recruit to that. Oats wants length (not necessarily height but wingspan) and athleticism. Prospects who can play multiple positions and just as importantly, guard multiple position. Case in point Jeremy Harris. With the up tempo style you know he wants athletic wings who can both shoot and drive, smart ball handling point guards and athletic bigs who can get up and down the floor and rebound. Hopefully we don't get hit by the transfer bug. Which is why I feel Oats leaned more towards JUCOs and transfers for next season. The future beyond next season is heavily invested in Segu and Williams. They are the building blocks you supplement. But I feel as long as we keep winning, pull some upsets and Oats sticks around we should be able to consistently bring in 3 star recruits and the occasional 4 star.
  12. Should be a good test to tip the season. St. Francis is predicted by some to win the Northeast Conference. They return their top two scorers so this will be an early test for our defense. Hopefully we shoot better from 3 but after tonight's display there isn't much to criticize. https://bustingbrackets.com/2018/09/18/ncaa-basketball-predicting-32-regular-season-conference-champions-2018-19/22/
  13. Seems as though we will need him now. https://twitter.com/coreyevans_10/status/1055928564166656000
  14. Update: According to a tweet from Cory Evans, Sean Miller-Moore has decided to open his college recruitment. So it seems like he won't be in the fold next season. I wonder what happened. Maybe he see us having too much backcourt depth.
  15. I agree entirely. It was probably a strategy for this season. And next season with our scholarships we may go true freshman oriented. Which if that’s the case is smart. Bottom line is get talent however and where ever right. In Oats we trust and I can’t wait to get this season going.
  16. While I love the fact that we now have 5 guys coming into the program next season there’s something that worries me: We still don’t have a true freshman signed as of yet. All incoming recruits are either transfers with one year of eligibility remaining (Grant and Johnson) or they are jucos with 3 years left (Miller-Moore, Allen and Caldwell). This worries me bc maybe true freshman recruits are worried Oats will leave after a another good year. So maybe coach is recruiting to leave the pantry stocked in case he does depart. Or maybe this is currently the best we can get. While I love the recruits there hasn’t been that one gem like a Williams or Segu just yet. We lost out on Andrew for whatever reason. Just some food for thought. Also...can we get an athletic big
  17. Hopefully we land Emmanuel Andrew. 247 has him as a 4 star top 150 player. And they are predicting us to have a 67% chance to land him. For whatever that prediction is worth. He could be the crown jewel of the class.
  18. Committed! 6-6 juco wing. Coming to UB. He was on campus this passed weekend.
  19. We’ve got 3 incoming recruits for next season so now is the time we go hard for some big fish. The recruiting season is fully underway. I would love for us to secure a 3 and/or 4 star prospect(s) to round out our 2019 class. Just being in it for a 4 star recruit isn’t enough anymore. Let’s get one.
  20. https://www.ubbullrun.com/buffalo-basketball/2018/9/1/17808838/juco-prospect-andre-allen-commits-to-buffalo Looks like we finally got some height.
