  1. All the ratings put on players in high school are just ratings based on their performance in high school. What matters is the kind of competition they played against. It is still only the potential the coaches see in these players and if they can develop and turn into good D1 players. It is based so much on how some of these kids mental state is and how they react to coaching and when things are not going like they were in high school how they adapt to the college game. You just never know and all these kids have to be given some time. It will be interesting to see how Segu and Williams come out next season. We were told they were always in the gym shooting after games but there was really no improvement in their overall shooting but again time will tell and I will not be surprised if we see improvement in their games. Go Bulls!!!!!
  2. Do agree. Wes Clark had a total all around offensive game. He could drive and finish around the basket, shoot the 3 ball and most important could shoot the pull up jumper around the foul line. Truly with the advent of the 3 pointer the pull up jumper inside the key is a thing of the past. Players probably do not practice that shot and coaches have abandoned it for the most part. Very interested to see what Johnson’s offensive game is like. I can only hope Jordan upgrades his overall offensive game next year along with his free throw shooting. Go Bulls!!!!!
  3. Thanks for your informative reports. Just another venue for more fans to learn more about our teams and hopefully will lead to an increase in fan interest and support of our local teams. Go Bulls!!!!
  4. It was an amazing season and the highlights far outnumbered the lowlights. But unfortunately the last game is the one that we all remember. The game was not like a lot of our games this year. We started out hot hitting shots and running and playing good defense and the opposing team missing shots etc. TT did hit a lot of contested shots, made foul shots and did not give us any easy buckets in the paint. AS we continued to miss shots from almost the entire team it just snowballed and we could never get over the hump. Collectively our worst game with Harris, Caruthers and Graves with single digit scoring and losing the rebounding battle, missing foul shots. There is such an upgrade in very good teams in the tourney that when you have a bad game you can lose big. A case in point with Fletcher Magee of Wofford one of the best 3 point shooters in the nation going 0-12 from 3’s and Ja Morant from Murray State missing 12-15 2 pointers which was the worst of his career. Our family will remember this season for all the great moments especially our home games with sold out crowds, the senior game celebration, notables like Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas at games and talking to the team, and of course our MAC championships in Cleveland with great UB crowds and having game day watch parties with family and friends that rivaled parties when the Bills and Sabres were in post games. These are memories that will last a lifetime. Horns Up and Go Bulls!!!!!
  5. Do agree. A year like none ever. So many things have to go right to have a season that was unprecedented. Having other teams have off nights, players in foul trouble, officiating going your way, a team having the mental toughness when things are not going your way, having a deep talented team that when one or two players have off games that others pick up the slack. Just a tremendous season for both the men and women and should be a interesting off season with the changes to both teams next year. Go Bulls!!!!!
  6. The Bucky and Sully show at least gave college basketball a lot more air time than that pro sports station who really only jumped on the bandwagon because of all the national and other local interest UB was getting. Sully, Gleason and Howard sat right behind us at the upper press table and after the game really did not want to give us the time of the day. I guess we are just the little guys but we are not losing any sleep over it. Go Bulls!!!!
  7. Do agree that on paper it looks very promising but that is why they have to play the games. It is amazing what having success and winning big time does for recruiting. I will always remember what Reggie said the last few years he was here when asked about recruiting and he said it is really hard to recruit players to a school like UB. He has said it at Canisius also. Without the right kind of culture and of course winning it is hard to get top players to come to your college. I think Rojas and Allen are two players that will be keys for us. Just a great time to be a UB supporter and fan. Go Bulls!!!!
  8. A very informative video. If I understood it Nate said they will build another facility for sports and Alumni can become the basketball facility and upgrades can be done for the basketball only type venue. Hope this is the first step for Nate to stay here for years. Go Bulls!!!!!
  9. Do agree. CD in the WNBA!!! Will have to catch some of her games and will be interesting to see which team she ends up on. Just a great job be Coach Jack and the entire coaching staff. Our family thought this year could be a middle of the road team with the loss of 3/4 of the starting lineup. To outrebound UCONN is very impressive. They had 3/4 trips where they came up empty being down only about 10 points that could of proved very interesting. What a great ride and can’t wait to see what Coach Jack cooks up for next year. Have not seen who she has coming in next year and how she can replace Dillard with her scoring and leadership. Go Bullls!!!!
  10. Can’t really disagree. UB picked the worst time to play their worst game of the year. TT had a lot to do with how the game played out. When they did not make shots early, don’t rebound, don’t make their 3’s, don’t make their foul shots it can make for a very tough game and again against a very good TT team. The bottom line is collectively except for Perkins we had our worst game. That does happen in the tourney as their were many very good teams who had their worst games and lost by double digits. It still does not distract from the great overall season we had and brought many fans back to following UB basketball. Go Bulls!!!!
  11. Two very good forecasts for next year. Do agree one very big key is how much Jordan improves in all aspects of his game. If he does not improve some other player will have to step up. On paper all the opinions look good if it shows on the floor. The key as always is can these players mesh together and have success. In order to gain confidence they have to win games and show individual progress. I point to the women’s season. With the loss of 3/4 of the starting team there was not an expectation that they could achieve that much success. It was the incredible work of the coaching staff and the players mindset, hard work and never give up that they achieved success. Nate and the incoming players will have to show that same work attitude. Our family will remember our Cleveland journey forever, Go Bulls!!!!!
  12. All the comments here are spot on. This has been an incredible last 4/5 years where both teams continued to get better and better and the passionate fans that have supported the teams thru tough years experienced the momentum building. The casual sports fan started to show their interest and joined the ride. The future looks the brightest it has looked in years. Our family also join in to thank all the players, coaches and all the other support people who have made this the best of times. Fans like all of us will be here no matter what the future holds and only hope the casual fans will continue to support our teams. Thanks to all for the memories that will truly last a lifetime. Go Bulls!!! Horn Up!!!! And already looking forward to what next season will bring for all the passionate fans. Go Bulls!!!!
  13. NIce to see GR jumping on the bandwagon. I remember years and years ago the Sabres and Bills were the talk of the town but alas how can anyone talk about the Sabres and just hoping all the players the Bills picked up will somehow turn out to be good players. We are talking proud about our UB teams and more and more fans are joining in, Go Bulls!!!!!
  14. They lost to the two top teams in the polls and are in a very weak conference and have won games this year that have been closer than usual. Nice for a change to see UCONN not the best team in the land. Go Bulls!!!!
  15. A very interesting synopsis of UB. Experience and balanced scoring but I lost track of how they were ranked in rebounding in the country. I think rebounding is the most important part of the game. Even if you are not shooting great rebounding the ball on both ends can overcome some other areas you are struggling in. The other biggie is defense. How many games this year were won when we locked down on the defensive end. Go Bulls!!!!
  16. Another awesome day with both teams winning in different ways. A whole group of fans at my son’s house with two TV’s and watching both games. We all decided we are wearing the same clothes on Sunday!!!! ASU shot terrible from outside and even though we started the game playing individual ball we settled down and took control. The women had a tough 2nd quarter with something like 9/10 turnovers and had trouble with the Rutgers press but Hanna Hall’s 3 pointer at the end of the quarter settled everything down. A great turnaround in the 2nd half as far as handling the press and some big shots from players other than Dillard. Dillard was really harassed with double teams almost the entire game. Something like a 13-2 run at the end of the game was incredible. The joyride and this incredible run continues. Go Bulls!!!!!
  17. Agree Souther Tier seemed to mostly have just UB fans where Harry Buffalo is years past seemed to have other than just UB fans maybe because of how close it is to the “Q”. We did stop at Harry Buffalo and the staff said they missed us and thought the Toledo fans not the best. We had a great time at Southern Tier and I would think we will be back next year. Go Bulls!!!!!
  18. Do agree. This has been another unbelievable season and we are in more uncharted waters. Boy, times sure have changed. When first getting to the tourney we were hoping to be competitive and hope to win. Now we are the better team with the better season stats and should win. It does give all of us a different perspective and being nervous about the game. Let’s keep this joyride going with two wins today. Go Bulls!!!!!
  19. Two very good games on how outcomes come down to free throws missed in the New Mexico State game and the Belmont game is another case of poor coaching decisions of waiting for the last shot. Belmont had something like 24 seconds left trailing by one with the last shot and waited to start their offensive play with 10 seconds to play. Their guard started his drive was double teamed and never got a shot off or a good pass off. Do not understand why most of the coaches don’t start their offensive sets and try and get the defense to have to react to you. I would really like to see the stats overall the year where teams with the last shot wait until 10 seconds left and wither tied or won the game. Hope that does not come to that in our games. Go Bulls!!!!
  20. Welcome also and a very good analysis of the team. My brother and I watched some ASU games and it was really an up/down type season. We seen them play some great games against some of the top teams and then lose some games against the bottom feeders where they shot horrible. They do have athletic talent and it should be a good test for us. We have to play a 40 minute game and not let up at all. Look for Hurley to get another “T” as he does not look like he can control himself. Go Bulls!!!!!
  21. Thanks beyond words can say. Our family listened to all UB’s post game interviews and they were special. We were up chanting and yelling Go Bulls!!!! I think the police are at our door. I think we will invite them in to listen to the interviews!!!!! A great time for all UB supporters and fans. Go Bulls!!!!
  22. Again the best weekend is an understatement. Our family and friends of a group of nine strong were there from Wed on and attended all the UB games and even some of the other games. The Southern Tier Brewing parties were great especially before Sat’s final. I won the autographed basketball with Coach Oats and Jack signatures. I already have it in a glass enclosed case with sensors and protected by guard dogs Ha! Ha!. Drove back home on Sunday on cloud nine and took three days to get back to normalcy. Let’s continue the momentum and Go Bulls!!!!!
  23. Do agree. With all lot of our JUCO’s coming in I can’t see anymore additional minutes for Brock. Fagan looks like he has potential but has never gotten enough minutes and time on the court to become anywhere comfortable or get into any flow. He appears like he has some quickness and athletic ability. Hope Fagan gets a chance to play and get some minutes next year. Go Bulls!!
  24. I am sorry if it came across like an “us vs them”. Our family have been proud passionate supporters and have talked proud of all our sports teams. In our earlier years members of our family have had Bills, Sabres, Bandits tickets and have followed many of our college teams. We are and have been True Blue UB supporters forever. I have been critical of media coverage of our local teams and UB but unfortunately it has become the sign of the times for the pro sports and the college teams nationally because of the almighty buck. These last 4/5 years have been the greatest with our UB success and will give us memories of a lifetime. Our family will try and get off the negative bandwagon of our local media and our pro sports teams and shout to the rooftops for our UB sports teams. Go Bulls!!!!
  25. Great idea. I hope the powers to be are listening to the average passionate fans who care more about winning than the almighty bucks of the Sabres and Bills. Go Bulls!!!!!
