  1. So if you are in a power 5 conference of one of the top rated conferences your team can have a 500 record or a little above a 500 record, a losing record in your conference and if you have 3-5 wins against the top teams you are going to make the tourney and a mid major that is say overall a 20 win season with 2-4 losses might not get in because of strength of schedule being weak because the majority of the big conference teams don’t want to play the UB’s of the world?????? There is no fairness in this system and there will never be. Again I am just letting off steam again. It of course is unprecedented for us even to be in these discussions but this is the beauty of college basketball at our level. Go Bulls!!!!!
  2. You just never know what can happen to mid major programs when a coach who was successful leaves for greener pastures(as in more money). John Groce leaving for Illinois, not working out and back in the MAC at Akron. Jim Christian leaving Ohio for Boston College but is on the hot seat there. Shaka Smart leaving VCU and is on the hot seat at Texas. Of course all of them left for big time jumps in salary from the $1.4 - $3 Million. Danny Hurley from Rhode Island going to UCONN in the $3 million range but he will get his 3-5 years to turn that program around. More money in different programs don’t mean more stability.but I guess these individuals always think they will get another job somewhere. You never know or can predict if your program is going to take a backward trend or be successful. It is important to keep Nate for as long as possible. Go Bulls!!!!!
  3. I think it really still comes down to the selection committee using the criteria any way they want to snub more mid majors and get more teams from the major conferences in. I have said many times it comes down to the NCAA wanting to please the major networks that pay millions of dollars to the NCAA. You will never get anyone in authority to admit to it but the most influential power brokers rule the roost. Fairness has nothing to do with decisions when it comes to money. I think the NCAA could live with a little less money in their coffers but sadly the world’s decisions have all come down to money, money and more money. Go Bulls!!!!!
  4. You are right about so many points. Until some big time power moguls want to change the status of all the power and big time conferences and let a lot of the lower conferences have more seats at the NCAA table nothing will ever change. It would have to take a revolt from the average fan screaming to the high heaven for anything to change. All these decisions are made with one thing in mind “money” and to hell with fairness. Do agree it is probably pointless but sometimes the average fans like us have to let off some steam. Our family really does not much of the the power conferences and for that matter the Sabres and Bills anymore for a variety of reasons. We are proud supporters of UB and that will never change. Go Bulls!!!!!
  5. That would be huge not only for the team and for us fans who have been praying for him to get out of his shooting slump. is all ok with CJ?? Go Bulls!!!!!!
  6. Do agree. With have to win our last two games regardless of what happens with the teams that are above us in the MAC. Hope Dillard, Hemphill and company can keep up their defensive intensity and get contributions on the offenseive end from some other players. Go Bulls!!!!
  7. Students that are on this board! Can you get more students to come out to the women’s game against BG on Wed???Does peer pressure work any more or was that just in the old days??? Go Bulls!!!
  8. All the polls can be confusing. On our site someone posted the NET rankings and the criteria used in making the ranking. But when the selection committee makes their picks you still are left to wonder if they will still favor the power conferences and conferences that are more nationally know??? It is still pretty confusing but with UB in the mix it is still exciting and keeps the interest of all our fans. On ranking of conferences the BPI has the Mt. West with Nevada #8 and the MAC #15. Thr RPI has the MAC #9 and the MT West #15. The NET rankings have Wofford #14 UB #15 Nevada #23 Arizona St #68 and Indiana #55 just to name a few. The only reason I mention Indiana is some sports media types have them possibly in the NCAA’s and they are like 6-12 in the Big10 with not a very good overall record. Another sports show had a discussion about the mid majors and the higher conferences and the point came up again that some of the mid majors with really good overall records in out of conference and in conference should not be picked over the teams in the big conferences even if they have a bad record just because the mid majors have not played a top schedule!!! The committee and a lot of the sports media types just want to see the big time teams and conferences and really do not care about the mid majors. The bias is alive and well and not sure it is ever going to change. The whole process is still very confusing and exasperating to the average fans like us that root for mid major teams that might not get rewarded. Still a fun time for us UB supporters. Go Bulls!!!!
  9. Do agree that parking can and has become a problem but only the last couple years when the crowds have increased tremendously. I appreciate comments back on this site that some of you tell us about other lots that are available. Not sure how many know about the free shuttle from the football parking lot before the games. We took advantage of that and we asked the driver if they do that for any other lots. He said he did not think so. Do agree this is the best sporting entertainment value in town . Go Bulls!!!!
  10. When still working and raising a family it was tough to make Cleveland but did watch as much as possible on tv. These last few years our family have not missed going to Cleveland and the memories will last a lifetime. Especially when both men and women won the MAC and celebrating with fans, players, coaches and all the UB supporters. It is great when you have both the time and money to make events like this. Go Bulls!!!!!
  11. Bringing that game up again bring back memories that are the worst. Yes agree with a lot of the comments that there were other factors in that game that could of changed the outcome but if you are a good game time coach you can control when you call timeouts and how you communicate to the players. We could go on and on about Reggie but sometimes things change for the best. The memories we have had with both the men and women these last few years has just been unbelievable and unprecedented with more to come. Go Bulls!!!!!
  12. Also thanks for the update and it gives all of us games to key on. Just like the men the call is for the women “Just win baby, just win.” Go Bulls!!!!
  13. Isn’t that the fun part of college basketball talking up your team and the rivalries between teams. I still remember the Ohio win against us in Cleveland when we were up by 20. If we come to play I am confident we will be victorious. Go Bulls!!!!!
  14. Our family have been talking about that very thing. We are ready to book as soon as we know where UB will be going. Go Bulls!!!!!
  15. Agree. The dedicated practice/training facility should be the 1st priority and if we have continued success Alumni can be discussed. Look how long it took us the get the Fieldhouse to match the other MAC teams. Go Bulls!!!!
  16. I am sure Nate and staff will let the team know what Ohio has done lately. The players need to throw the records out and play 40 minutes of UB basketball.Has anyone heard on CJ is with his ankle?? Go Bulls!!!!!
  17. A super week is an understatement. After their loss to a not very good Akron team it looked like we would have a tough go to be the 4 seed with games against Ohio and Miami. It just goes to show that is why they have to play the games. Kudos to the coaching staff and the players for their total adjustment. Not sure if Coach Jack talked to Nate but their defensive intensity with all five players moving as one took Miami out of their offense and the UB offensive quickness and ball movement was by far the best we have seen all year.Kudos to Coach Jack for starting Finess Dickson at point and Adebola Adeyeye the 6’2 freshman forward who is a stronger more physical presence in the post along with Summer to neutralize the bigs of Miami. They both are still freshman but they are showing improvement from the start of the season. Onwuka also had a good game who does have the athletic quickness needed on defense but is still out of control on offense at times. Still need to get contributions from Wilkins, Morrison and Hall in order for us to go far in the MAc tourney. Hope for a big crowd on Wed and the final time to see Cierra Dillard. Go Bulls!!!!!
  18. I brought this up over the last few years about student attendance and was sort of berated to worry about general fan attendance. I said at the time that our entire family have been UB supporters and season ticket holders and attend and talk proud whenever we are out in public. Why the student association, true blue or for that matter the UB administration can’t get more students to come out is beyond our family. It was a beautifully played game on both ends of the floor with Dillard and Hemphill being at their best. It was a wonderful senior day with tributes and videos of each senior and sincere appreciation by the seniors.. Something like 3,300 for the CMU game and 3,500 for the Miami game who came in as the leading team in the MAC. Hope crowds like this continue for the Bowling Green game on Wed. Go Bulls!!!!!
  19. How are his videos on his offensive ability? Sounds like he has his head on straight. Go Bulls!!!!!
  20. Just a great time of the year and for us to be in all the conversations. As they say “This is the best of times.” Glo Bulls!!!!
  21. Agree. If the players thoughts are more on their ranking and who they would be playing instead of the game itself it can get in their heads on how good they are. That can change both their concentration and intensity in games they are playing. Finish the year on a high and win their remaining games. Go Bulls!!!!!
  22. Harris is now struggling with the other parts of his game also. When was the last time you saw any pick and rolls with him to get open. Teams know where is game is now. If he has a three and takes it than so be it. But teams now are fronting him with pressure from one or two players and he has nowhere to drive. When was the last time you saw him inside the key and take little jumpers. just so hard to watch but praying for him to turn it around. But here we are talking about poor play and the team has only three losses. Go Bulls!!!!!
  23. Both Canisius and Niiagara gyms are small with only around 2,000 seats. When both Niiagara and Canisius had their very good teams and the place was packed it was a great college atmosphere not withstanding both colleges don’t have any money to change the gyms. Kudos for Reggie for what he has done with this team without Reese but the MAAC this year is very average or below.
  24. I have all the confidence in the team this year and next year. I am guilty of probably thinking these two players would show more even with their limited minutes because of their overall status of athletic ability. We hear they are in the gym all the time and hope that will translate into play on the floor. Next year’s team is going to be like the women this year. A different makeup of players. Do agree we gutted out a win that maybe in other years we might not of won. Hope CJ is okay and a little concerned KitKat the last few games he has had ankle injuries. Go Bulls!!!!!
  25. Is there any tape on this player out there to look at????? Go Bulls!!!!!
