Jeenathan looks to have taken a big step. Graves is who he is, I’d like to see more consistency but he’s still a very good player. Brock and Mballa on the court at the same time seemed very effective. Reinforcements from his recruits haven’t had the opportunity to make an impact. Robinson is hurt, Brewton appears to not have a waiver, and Zachary is obviously in limbo. It’s tough to blame Whitesell for those 3 not having an impact. If you want to say Skogman and Gallion should have more of an impact at this point that’s fine, but they’re both still 2 games into their sophomore season. I’m not thrilled with losing to army twice in two years, but I want to see how we do against MAC competition this year before getting too frustrated. FWIW I think if Mballa played we would have beaten army

Whitesell on the radio pregame said it wasn’t serious or long term but said it was a wrist fracture

We definitely got lucky with the drops. I was extremely impressed with KVT especially after the first quarter thinking “if this keeps up how long until Myers goes in.” With a 6 game season there’s zero margin for error and thankfully he turned it around quickly and had a career game. Anyone know why Riggins and Washington are out? I think our defense played fine without them and gets a lot better when they’re back. Took care of business against what should be our toughest opponent. 6-0 should not be off the table now.

There will always be players who want to be “the guy.” Why give up being the star of a mid major to coming off the bench in the Big 12?

I certainly don’t think it’s going to hurt. The likelihood that these kids will be fine in a week and/or not show symptoms at all is high. Unless the team continues to slowly see more and more cases leading up to the start of their first game I’d make a guess that this will end up being a non issue.

Yeah, UB being a state school is the difference here. I don’t think there will be a hang up. While there’s no “waiver form,” the athletes do have the option of opting out and gaining another year of eligibility.

With a lot less players and staff than football, I’d hope they’d be able to obtain the testing necessary to pull this off and do it safely

Very cool to finally get some news in this area. Would much rather have waited to get a quality hire then grab someone right away after Jenkins left just to have one.

50/50? LOL, I don’t think we’ve gotten anything other than Whitesell and Grant bashing since the start of last season from you, followed by crickets whenever they did something positive. I don’t understand it, but it’s absolutely your right as a fan and at times it’s been warranted. As for 20 wins being “the goal,” you’re just twisting the argument to make yours look better. I don’t think anyone here is going to happy to coast along winning 20 games and not making it to Cleveland. But the fact you continually ignore is that we lost 4 of 5 from the starting Lineup of our best team in program history and the two best players to come off the bench in program history. And still won 20 games in Whitesells first year with an incredibly young team. All while pulling in 2 of the best recruiting classes in program history despite turnover of 2 recruiters and the loss of an entire class when Oats left. You ignore all this because cuts the legs out from under your silly insistence that this was a terrible, unacceptable season and that we’re somehow “back to the Reggie days” which is laughable and insulting to the current team and coaches.

How long? It’s been one 20 win season with a young team so far.
