  1. Kid is put together, looks like a hell of an athlete. This work is probably helping him average double digit rebounds as a 6-foot guard.
  2. Fans and journalists are held to different standards when it comes to the language and tone they use to discuss players and games. I think everyone knows that and it's the right way for things to be. It's when lines blur that issues arise. I'm happy that enough people care to get fired up about a UB hoops topic. People are hungry! 🀘🏼🀘🏼🀘🏼
  3. Gabe Grant is rough man... So is AJ. Seems like they're both really pressing in their one year.
  4. These announcers are stunningly bad 🀣. PbP may be slightly better than color, but whoa... sobering incompetence. Will Reagan might have hope yet.
  5. AJ got warned for raking his arm over the guy's head once, then did the exact same thing ten seconds later. One of the more bonehead plays this season. His basketball IQ is nothing to write home about.
  6. Right on. I know it is being discussed more now than at any point in recent memory, so fingers crossed it will be fully realized. To your second point, Gabe Grant was on Instagram the night before a recent game posting videos in disbelief that he couldn't get shots up in Alumni.
  7. Paperwork will be filed at the end of the season provided he does not play. They're "planning" to redshirt him, the only exception being if God forbid Mballa and Hardnett suffered injuries, Skogman would end up playing thus burning his redshirt.
  8. I did see a couple mid-40s Bona fans attempting to roll an empty keg out of the arena. And I heard that there was a hazing incident involving Bona fans and an usher but that's unconfirmed. Standard showing all in all.
  9. This is a new development for him on the ESPN rankings as far as I know, 24th PG in the country. While I trust them the least of the big rankings sites (ex: no trace of Freeman), I'd love to know what caused his bump up. Perhaps he's in for a breakout senior year, wouldn't that be great.
  10. The plan that has been discussed internally (and a bit publicly I believe) is building a new student recreation center for intramurals located north of the bookstore. That will free up alumni to be renovated as a hub for varsity athletics. Triple Gym I assume would become basketball central. Let's hope this is a 5 year and not a 10 year project.
  11. Did you guys have real information that changed in 5 days or..?
  12. UConn plays #15 Florida today at 3pm FYI. Their roster is littered with 3 & 4 star guys with size and skill. They start 6'9, 6'9, 6'11 in the front court so Nate, Gabe, Hardnett, Nickleberry and Mballa will be seeing big minutes. This is a talented roster that shouldn't be underestimated. I expect they'll be favored by around 5 on us, and I'd gladly take the points as I expect it to be a toss-up on the court.
  13. The Dartmouth game was atrocious. Our talent level should have carried us past our chemistry issues. Critique isn't necessarily a freak out. They deserve praise today as much as they deserved criticism that day.
  14. Rondo has the makings of an absolute star at this level...let's enjoy the ride 🀘🏼🀘🏼🀘🏼
  15. Cool to have a future Bull signing next to his teammate Jeremy Roach, a future Dukie. That hints at a certain level of recruit. Also, like Rondo is buddies with Nassir Little and other high-end high school/AAU guys, hopefully JoJo has some peer connections that will pay dividends in recruiting and program reputation. In the last three years his HS, Paul VI in Virginia, sent guys to UNC, Nova, Pitt, Butler, UCF, George Mason. That's the company we want to be in.
  16. $300 bucks for 16 games, 4th row behind the bench, premium parking. It's by far the best sporting deal in town. I don't think that anyone who was interested in seasons was put off by the $15 increase from $285 (plus there were one or two fewer home games last year I believe). And to the guy who said drink less beer...🀣🀣🀣🍻
  17. Not to derail this thread more, but they raised my ticket prices 5%. When's the last time they raised them? Aside from keeping up with inflation, I don't see a buck a game increase as unreasonable especially when we're all clamoring for improved facilities, gameday experience, etc. Beer prices reminded unchanged I should note 🍻
  18. A couple knee jerk reactions: The boys looked bulky and poorly conditioned. Wondering if the new musclehead S&T coach has them where they need to be. Injuries also may hint something is off. Multiple times guys looked confused as to what was being run on the offensive end. Granted it's a bunch of new guys with no chemistry in a new system, so it should improve. Very disappointing to see such an unprepared group. The difference in intensity between Oats and Whitesell from sitting right behind the bench was apparent. In a game where our guys were flat and the refs were inconsistent if not bad, I'm not sure I heard him raise his voice once. This team is significantly less mature than last year's, aside from just the experience lost. Judging from their social media they revel in the relative bright lights at the level and may have thought they could ride the coattails of the program's recent succes. Major reality check, time to grind. Quick player notes: Rondo is our spark, he'll be playing meaningful minutes all season. Incredible ball-handler at this level, shooting touch is there, intensity and quickness on defense along with Cocoa almost brought us back. The offense needs to get Graves more looks. He's going to have to be the go to guy. Had a jaw-dropping rebound for a stick back layup. I'm willing to write off Nate as ever becoming a reliable outside shooter. Also remains heavily left hand dominant driving. Just a stunning lack of skill from a recruit of his caliber. Exciting to have Mballa for three years. Quite raw in some areas but so much to work with. Fundamentals including focus on boxing out will need to improve. Going to give Hardnett the benefit of the doubt coming off an injury, but that was not the player we were looking forward to all summer. Low activity level, awkward athleticism. Will be watching him closely. Does anyone know why Nickleberry didn't see one minute? Hoping he had a slight knock and there isn't something else up. Otherwise shocking that a recruit of his caliber couldn't crack the rotation. Thought his length and vision could have helped spread the floor and make Dartmouth pay for their heavy overcommit/help defensive rotations. Long post but damn that was a brutal one. Hoping the program didn't blow too much of their momentum with the general public last night. Crowd felt large enough and tried to get into it during the comeback, but was mostly understandably subdued.
  19. In another thread it was mentioned that a P5 school came calling? Any info on that?
  20. I enjoyed the pod as well. We really do need more and better coverage of this team and the football team. Appreciate your efforts.
  21. They play Penn tonight as 7.5 point home favorites. Being honest in my heart of hearts, I'm rooting against them this year. Or at least for them to do worse than us.
  22. Noticed Hunter Jenkins wasn't on the bench for Daemen. Wonder if he is still on the road recruiting.
  23. That was a lot of fun. Tons of versatile pieces that will give the MAC matchup nightmares. Full student section was good to see.
