  1. We did win right? Against the team that beat the #1 Toledo team last week? Wouldn't know after reading these posts. Hard fought win, needed that after 2 routs of teams that weren't playing any D. Hopefully 2 more wins next week on the road before the doubleheader next Saturday. Personally, it was an entertaining game and a win. Good time had by all, in the limited and relatively sedated crowd.
  2. Yep, lost 2 home games this year (UC Irvine and CMU) in an already thin home schedule.
  3. Fun game from the women (as usual). Fair was on fire and we got to see some old faces on the floor again in Gaba, Young and even Paea. Ade was back in uniform, so hopefully she'll be back by the end as well. Wooley struggled with some turnovers, but matched them with 6 steals. This team has it all and can beat anyone at anytime. Hopefully they continue to roll and get the better of the Toledo rematch in Cleveland. UB put out the lineup of 0-1-2-3-4 at one point, similar to the men's 1-2-3-4-5 of a few years ago.
  4. Jones hobbled off at a timeout and never returned to action. No idea what happened. He remained at the bench with his teammates so hopefully nothing major.
  5. He has done that for games. Also did it on the 90%+ night.
  6. 4 dunks in the first 12 minutes is something that I've definitely missed seeing!
  7. Like always, need to win 3 (or 4) games in a row in March. Whether it's 20th or 10th, they're only getting 1 team in like every other year.
  8. You can only win the game in front of you. Teams ebb and flow during a season, unless they have a $20mil budget. Even then, they struggle at times (though less often). Last year's team was .500 at this time and won nearly every game the rest of the way. Hopefully this year's squad can mirror that, with 1 extra in the end. No team in this league is unbeatable, while every team is capable of the upset (miami over us, ball st over toledo as 2 examples). This group is good enough to win a bunch down the stretch. Here's to hoping they do!
  9. Personally, I'd make the coach walk home. Only up by 23 with 5 minutes left. Regardless, nice to get back in the win column. I hope the missed game with CMU gets rescheduled. UB is far and away the better team of the two. UB seemed to go solidly 9-10 deep today, getting more involvement throughout. Definitely some things to clean up (always), but a solid game with a lot of intensity and much improved ball movement (most of the time anyway). Need another W on Tuesday.
  10. Nice 4th quarter by the women to pull out a 10 point win. A win on the road is always a good thing. Hopefully 2 for 2 in a couple of hours with the men!
  11. I think Wooley and Hemphill are solid plan Bs. Wilson showing some force down low as well. This team is limited in numbers, but a high ceiling.
  12. The women are tied at the half with lowly Cmu. They had a challenging time with them at home as well, before finally taking the W. Nice to see Gaba back on the bench (hasn't gotten in the game). Hopefully they can win this half and get ready to come back home for Monday's game in front of some students (maybe?).
  13. So a partial court photo with a handful or less of people leads you to believe what, that the head coach just is sitting on his couch eating chips? You can't be serious.
  14. Agreed. These breaks are crazy, especially considering there still is one game with CMU that hasn't been rescheduled yet. Considering all of the haters of the staff on here, what about Bona? They were ranked and now are .500 in league. Maybe Schmidt should be canned. He's making nearly 3x as much as our coach also. Regardless, 8 days off, time to make a run like they did last year after being in a similar spot at this time of the season.
  15. Stephens to Missouri. There ya go chubby
  16. Nice bounce back win today. While not perfect, it was a W. Wilson, as expected, was a huge gain to the lineup. This team has the potential to get it done in Cleveland.
  17. Yep, masked fans, no band, no students and music that many of the fans don't really enjoy doesn't make for a lively crowd. Who cares? No students live nearby? That's a weak excuse and ridiculous that the students are never around for over half of the basketball season. The apathy is evident.
  18. Dontay and Jordan would help right now. They played HARD always. We just floated all game and have been told that we're top end. Unfortunately tonight's opponent played like they wanted to be here and we didn't.
  19. Completely outmanned tonight. The other team was by far a better basketball team, in every facet of the game. The only good thing ub did was have an empty arena, so maybe people didn't see this debacle.
  20. Completely overmatched in every aspect. Might as well go home now. Mballa can't even catch anymore.
  21. Pretty big name and been at big schools. Hopefully he can continue the quality RB ways.
  22. They only suited up 8. VP wasn't dressed. Wilson, who hasn't dressed all year was on the bench suited up for this game, but her and Jordan didn't see the floor. The other 5 are definitely stronger than the 3 on the bench ( although Wilson could be strong down the line, however hasn't played yet). The mop guy, like most doing that job each night at UB, seem very disinterested. When you watch games in other arenas, the towel/mop people run out there and clean the floor, but not here. The players and coaches asked for that area to be wiped and he casually sauntered out there and did a half ass job, so coach showed him how to do it with passion and properly. That's all we'd need is anothet injury due to a sweaty floor!
  23. Ade on crutches and a big knee brace. Not good.
  24. They played extremely efficient. They made their FTs and cashed in on their shots, especially down the stretch. They're far from unbeatable, but were the better team tonight over 40 minutes. They never seemed to stray from their game plan and it paid off. UB seemed to go "guns blazing" for stretches but then also were very flat footed during others. Toledo's consistency paid off tonight.
