  1. Yep, but I don't see the "FireJack" and non-stop coaching criticism posts, after an essentially mirrored game (and rightfully so).
  2. Wtf. I feel as if I just experienced deja vu from yesterday. Not good.
  3. I have no problem with the stadium as it stands. I'm sure that I'm in the minority on this board, but as the original post's final sentence is an accurate one.
  4. There are a lot of teams that have big recruiting classes, but unless the players buy in to the coach/system, it doesn't matter. UB didn't have a top 20 national recruiting class when they were ranked in the top 25, but Oats built a system that they bought into and the whole was greater than the sum of it's parts (the parts were very good, better than their "rankings"). Now, he has tremendously talented players (according to the rankings) and they've bought in (much more than last year, or even the beginning of the season) and the proof is in the results. They're fun to watch, much like we were during the "big year". I am fully behind this team and it's staff, but it's definitely different now than before.
  5. Typical mac refs bail out kent
  6. That last possession was awful
  7. You beat me to it (although he looked to be fouled pretty clearly, the no call added insult to it).
  8. Good post and while I agree on the premise of the post, if Nate was still here, all of those guy would be playing well as would the returning guys. Oats got the most out of his players, his team, everything. He's a great coach, which is why the team won 30 games in his final year here, and why his Alabama team is now having success after years of mediocrity. I have a hard time believing that we'll ever get another close to him. Back to the players themselves, the recruits that have been brought in have been "big" according to rating systems, but for the most part don't seem to be panning out. Is that coaching, the players, or other factors? No one on here who isn't part of the day-to-day dealings would be able to say for sure, I know that I can't anyway. I have belief in this team and hope that they can right the ship after Friday's tough loss. We'll find out more in a few hours!
  9. BG wants it more. That last sequence cemented it. Several literally standing there watching BG get board after board.
  10. Mballa was ridiculous and it was nice to see them draining the 3s today. They got a little "cute" at times, but I'd wager that a few of the players feed off of it, especially without fans and the long lay-off. Nice to see them play (and win) again!
  11. That's not really a fully fair statement, but I knew it'd be mentioned. Nate (and others before him) had issues too, Moss, Quate, etc. Sadly, it happens and while I'm not happy with it either, I can't put full blame on the coach as he can only do so much in the end. It's super disheartening though, total gut punch.
  12. I didn't see that. I read that he was in the portal. Happy new year chubbyhubby.
  13. Patterson joins Nunn and others in going to the draft. I hope these guys (especially him, an underclassman) are making the right decisions, and don't end up in a similar position as Tyree.
  14. Well, the game hasn't been the prettiest, but a 3 point lead at the half is always better than the opposite. Whether you like his coaching or not, Lance is about as class act of a guy as they come. I, for one, hope that he stays here for several years to come.
  15. and another missed kick 😞 Gonna be an uphill day I think, unfortunately. I hope that I'm wrong. Merry Christmas group.
  16. Wahhhhhhhhh. You are a shell of your former self. Time to retire buddy.
  17. The Michael Jordan "flu game" never should've happened. The game probably should've been postponed. If one player or "tier 1 personnel" gets covid and the team needs to stop for days/weeks, there will never be any semblance of a season. That goes for UB and for anyone else. It just can't work mathematically if stoppages continue to occur. Maybe once UB returns, their MAC opponent has to stop, then another. It's a never ending cycle at this rate.
  18. Sustained winning should be expected, considering the amount of $$ that has been put into the football program over the last few years. Comparing previous teams/regimes to this is not nearly equal comparison. This team has a fieldhouse, new locker rooms, training and rehab facilities, nutrition bar and more. These items would've aided past staffs/teams to recruit at a higher level as well as perform and produce more wins. Don't forget that when making your take above.
  19. I would've rather seen the win but it looked much better than the BG game and other spots in the season.
  20. Step in the right direction overall though. Team depth is more limited than hoped, which showed down the stretch. They showed that they are MAC contenders. We knew going in that it was going to be a Cleveland winning steak or nothing, so get in and then win 3 games!
  21. That's a lot of $$. The whole system is crazy.
