  1. How many grad transfers from the MAC were selected? It's hard for the MAC to get seniors drafted when the "big" schools are allowed to take the developed players that the MAC teams churn out.
  2. There are 1000s of kids out there, between the portal, JUCO and HS. Just because we aren't listed on this one doesn't mean much +/- towards our team/coaches. We only have 1 spot left. There's no rush. Heck, our best "find" ever was a summer signing (CJ) and Mballa didn't come in until late last year as well.
  3. HJ seemed like a decent guy in the brief time that he was here. We have no idea what truly went down and likely never will know the details. Regardless, the investigation has gone on and completed with HJ being the only one implicated. For that reason, I stand behind the current staff and will believe that they were not part of whatever happened. It's kind of crazy that two young guys in the WNY bball area both left town quickly in a month's time this past season. Belein was at NU and gone just as quick as he came, same with HJ.
  4. You seem to think that it's impossible that he's lying. Generally when someone goes down for something, they don't like to go down alone, so they start trying to deflect blame. Is this the case here? I have no idea, but the investigation of many months didn't seem to turn up anyone else besides HJ. I'd prefer to believe in a long-term investigation's word over the word of one who just admitted to wrongdoing.
  5. It absolutely is your opinion. Yes, "it" happened, but your statement puts it in terms that JW was aware of it, or part of it. For all we know, HJ went rogue and wanted to try to impress his new boss and do great legwork to get Mballa cleared, which included gross lying and falsifying. Maybe they were all in on it. Who really knows? No one here, but your condescending nature towards JW (and numerous others) is always at the forefront.
  6. Shocking that you'd take yet another shot him.
  7. I agree with this, but the rules haven't adjusted to social media in that way. Fans can like, comment but boosters cannot. Therefore if you've never given $$ to ub athletics, then have a blast. Again, whether we agree with it or not, now ub will have someone looking over their shoulders now because of a very poor decision by someone who is no longer there. Luckily it was caught in a quick enough timeframe.
  8. Then you wonder why BB does what he does, whether you agree with it or not, it's to help prevent this type of "stuff". Is commenting on twitter equivalent to this gross abuse? No, but it all can add up, especially when now there is a reason to keep a closer eye on the UB program.
  9. In the end, it's his option. I'd rather he left before setting foot here, than being here and then leaving. I'd imagine he has a larger opportunity at WMU than here. When looking at the rosters, ours is a bit more robust.
  10. Based on the article, it sounds as if the schools just want to cut more programs. Only football and basketball matter evidently.
  11. I wonder if they're brawlers like many have been in the past. Maybe another DeLaRosa in the mix.
  12. Didn't someone on here say that there was no way that he was returning to BG?
  13. That won't be happening any time soon (multiple teams).
  14. If UB had gotten him in high school, everybody on here would've been drooling; 4 star guy, ranked top 100 by 247sports and Rivals. Now 2 years later he's "not a good player" and "been horrible", when no one here has ever actually broken down film of him, talked with him, or knows anything about him other than his stats from the past 2 seasons. Right, wrong or indifferent, I'd put my faith more into the coaching staff than others.
  15. For one evening, I'd prefer getting home at 11, although I'm sure kids would stand no chance being there for that. I can survive being tired the next day, but I can't see the first half if I can't get there on time. Either way, we need 2 wins tomorrow! I like to think that it will happen, but every game starts at 0-0.
  16. Based on both teams' play recently, there's no need for anything less than positive vibes heading into Monday. As it stands, both teams stand a very reasonable chance to make it to Friday, seeing as UB has beaten Miami both times (men and women) and the women have beaten Kent both times, leaving only the men who lost to NIU in the opening game of league play. It's one game at time right now in my mind though, as we've seen, there are no easy wins in this league, no matter which team "seems" to be the better one. Hopefully we get a nice crowd, although the 5pm start will likely be a challenge for many, myself included. Then once we win (positive vibes), I look forward to the trek to Cleveland!
  17. I haven't missed a home one yet. I won't start today.
  18. Come on Eugene German. Time for a 40 point performance!
  19. Yes! 20 win regular season. Fantastic!
  20. What a bad sequence. 10 sec violation then foul Turner 25 ft from the basket
