Time to move on from Mark Alnutt?
everlast2504 replied to Big 4 Hoops Blogger's topic in Buffalo Bulls Basketball
I still don't get why they just didn't keep JW on the "payroll" for those 4 weeks. -

UB - 92 Buttler - 89 It's all about the positive mental attitude and Christmas spirit. -
Its Buffalo and sports. Nothing surprises me any more. I could also see the worst loss ever in NCAA history.
-
I would not be surprised if we somehow win this game.

NIL from Jim Mora's point of view is millions. The MAC there NIL deals would be thousands. Its insanity that UB dosen't have well funded NIL programs. The school doesn't need that much money at the mid-major basketball level and MAC football level to compete for Athletes.

If Miami is a public Ivy, then I'm a overweight near 40 year old "Josh Allen"....

Army to join the AAC for football only
everlast2504 replied to promotherobot's topic in Buffalo Bulls Football
I don't see how they can circle this square. The Army Navy game is a very big deal with the economies around it. I would say it matters more to the Acedemies and their fans more then the conference championship game. -
Hard to say he has had a lot of injury and down years. But his first few years was playing at an all time level.
-
We would have to retire numbers for that to happen. We have a long list of players who numbers should be retired or at least discussed. Starks, Means, Oliver, Wily to name a few with Starks and Means both winning super bowls. Mack isn't the only one.

If Reggie is even half the great person we think he is. He would be proud of one of his former players, then coaches moving up in the world and advancing his career. If Cage is half the person we hope he is, there were a few conversations with Reggie about this as well.

Also known as make up some BS and get them on the floor/field?

UB NIL Collective (or lack thereof)
everlast2504 replied to UBinMD's topic in Buffalo Bulls Basketball
It's SUNY. They have along repeated history of mucking things up when they start going well or a something involving one school shows some initiative. I would not be shocked if it ends up needing to be a SUNY wide collective or something. -
UB NIL Collective (or lack thereof)
everlast2504 replied to UBinMD's topic in Buffalo Bulls Basketball
UB is a SUNY school. The red tape is probably going to require UB to invest massively into some grand plan of the future of how this collective will work. Let's call it the UB 2030 collective. Then after years of planning the state government is going to say its unfair to the other SUNYs. The collective is going to be highjacked and instead of UB creating an avenue to give student athletes money, each school gets $6.75 and a pack of bazooka joe..... -
The stadium is owned by the county and the state. I really don't think the Pegulas can charge anyone to use it.
-
Good question. But isn't the NIL money ultimately money from private sources and not really subject to Title IX?

We may need some transfers or holding back a scholarship or 2 to rebalance things a little as well.

George Halcovage III the next UB Men's Basketball Coach
everlast2504 replied to Jeseph's topic in Buffalo Bulls Basketball
That Cage number seems low. How bad was his pay down the road? I doubt he took a pay cut to coach at UB. -
George Halcovage III the next UB Men's Basketball Coach
everlast2504 replied to Jeseph's topic in Buffalo Bulls Basketball
From what the article says I am shocked UB did not structure Whitesell's termination to owe him only 400k and not 500k. Their could of been some favors being done by bringing some people in. Pump their stock up the recruitment firms gets a higher commission, and in return helps us out. And I'm describing kickbacks at a public university..... -
I would imagine if they do end up all at the same place the NCAA will have several questions.
-
I put on an extra tin foil hat for this one. I have a guess what happened it involves Scott Johnson and Wyatt Foust doing some pretty nasty collusion to try and damage the program, along with influence and pressuring these kids to do what might not be in all of their best interests. It's to inflammatory to come outright and say. I know lame by me. I will just leave it at it includes recent events at the school and the state of divisive politics currently in the US.

I'm going with some outside influence. We had 5 decommit there is a 0% chance that happens without some else pulling strings or influencing people.

I did say it's a hill I'm willing to die on. I'll amended my stance a little. We need to get PR and our students in a good place first before we worry about TBT and Blue Collar U. I view TBT as step 99 in a 100 step process and we are on step 3. UB has a lot of work to else where first.
