Wanted to start this thread a week early because I'm planning on making the drive to Ann Arbor for the game. Is anyone else going? It's awesome to start the season with such a high-profile opponent within a 5 hour drive. I might have gone just based on that, but my cousin Hunter Dickinson is a star on Michigan so that turns it into a must-see game. Hope he scores 40 and we win in OT 🙂

I swear I was gonna post this whenever the Michigan thread started lol. Zaakir Williamson has some highlights of him scoring on your cousin at 1:26, 1:34, 1:45, 2:14, and 2:36 in this video. Not to disparage Dickinson but rather show Williamson against high level competition. I'd imagine he redshirts but he won’t be seeing anyone 7’2” when he starts playing in the MAC

Here is bit more on the pre-season rankings using Massey Composite with a few additions (total of 9 rankings). I have set overall MAC ranking based on the median of three ranking sites, Kenpom, Barttorvik and Massey as this has been fairly predictive of final rank over the past 4 years. Here is summary of rankings: The rankings suggest the MAC will be fairly competitive for top 7 teams, with Buffalo, Ohio and Toledo competing for top spots. I do feel that they have underestimated UB. Here is chart showing historic predictability of the median (MAS, POM, TRK and SAG) - showing that overall they have slightly underestimated MAC in general, but with relatively high R-squared:

Both schools are not far from Nashville. Could be a fun road trip.

That’s not necessarily the truth… The game is won or LOST in the trenches….. Jaret who I LOVE and blessed to know him as a football player and more importantly YOUNG MAN… out of the 4 backs from last years wasn’t the fastest back more like 3rd in a 40’yard dash.. His vision and balance is what makes him special… UB last group of coaches claim to fame was Identifying potential and developing lineman… It’s crazy to think you can lose the best lineman in the MAC and one of the best WR’s and LB hire a coach late and expect the teams flow to remain the same, IF you know football… Not to mention EVERY MAC program but us got better thanks to the portal… Mo wasn’t afforded that opportunity because of the time of the hire. What i can say is Mo’ will have a opportunity to get some players he’s comfortable with next season…I’m making a prediction here and now we will win the MAC next year!! college competitive athletics is about RECRUITING and this group will be the BEST group of R/C that WNY have ever seen….🤘

Not sure if they do it but it would be a nice touch if the digital ticket had a print option not to be used to get in the event but if someone wanted the "stub". Like some art work and the date/teams/times etc

Not to be a debbie downer but what a pathetic slate of games. How is that supposed to grow these programs and sell tickets to casual Buffalo sports fans? I understand that St. Bonaventure was probably reluctant but they are a MUST for these type of events. Have them schedule a bigger name opponent or play Niagara/Canisius. They are a Top 25 team this year with a diehard fanbase. You want 10,000 fans, have them and Buffalo play relevant games. Worst case scenario, you can't and Buffalo plays Canisius like they will this year. That way you can actually sell tickets and build interest. Literally no one cares about Canisius or Niagara right now and Daemen is even lower on the radar though I'm happy for their program to be a part of this. Downtown games should be a big event. Not just something you do for the sake of doing it. There won't be more than 3,500 people there.
