I suspect there's some funky numbers in northwest Ohio. I find it odd that Toledo outdraws CMU and BG is around CMU's attendance. Especially given BG's fall over the past few years.
That being said, it's terrible that UB WBB does not draw a larger crowd. The crowd (butts in seats) has grown exponentially over the past 5 or so years. But we are spoiled with Coach Jack, and quite frankly on borrowed time. She was reportedly offered the Penn State job, and there's no doubt in my mind that if she wanted to she could get paid more. I had zero interest in women's basketball (or men's basketball to be honest) before UB, and I now find myself driving to Storrs and Albany to watch NCAA tournament games. Go watch this team, you will not be disappointed.
I've been to half of them. Most for a game. I don't get the full tour of facilities like others may, but from my limited view as a fan of the places I've been: Akron, Toledo, (gap), Miami, Western, (gap), Kent, UB.
Akron players take note. A technical foul will be now assessed when “derogatory language about an opponent’s race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.”
I feel like it's dumb to ask if you've been to Army-Navy, so I'll ask which year(s) you've been.
I feel like it's also because Army (and Navy to some extent) have also been pretty bad recently. If Army was competing for national championships it might be a little different.
Who would want to play at our stadium? Syracuse's stadium is +/- the awfulness of ours (depending on how much orange is around me) and their "best" OOC team is:
2019 - WMU
2020 - Liberty
2021 - Rutgers
2022 - Notder Dame (if it doesn't get moved), Purdue if it does
2023 - Army
2024 - Ohio
Of those, we'll play all but RU and ND/Purdue at home in the same time frame.
I like this. Cheap travel for fans and the team, and a school that we could build a regional rivalry with. I also grew up an hour away so Mom gets a visit.
Now more home games please
I misread the release and thought it said two CAA tournament wins (as in winning the tournament twice). Turns out it was two wins in the tournament over five years. Regardless, I have a ton of faith in FLJ and the current staff.
You can't tell me that somebody's going to hire him. He's hired a softball coach (and a basketball coach) and sent out a few extensions. Surely there's no way that a Power 6 (lol) school is going to hire him based on that. That would be unprecedented.
Isn’t that the case for everybody though? Guys that we’re recruiting now we didn’t recruit when we had Oats because we thought that we could get somebody better.
