  1. Princeton looks like a competitive team and should be a good test for us. They play seven players primarily with decent size with no player less the 5’8’. Their top three players average 18, 14 and 10with the other two averaging 7 points. Their top three players all are 6’ and above and appear to be a decent rebounding team. If only Adeyeye could stay out of foul trouble and hope McEvans is not injured. Hope the strong play for Woolley continues and hope both Fair and Hemphill can have strong games. Go Bulls!!!
  2. Do agree. That is the highs and lows of each game. Every game has its own identity. The ebbs and flow change based on player matchups and of course what players have great shooting games. Just trying to enjoy each game and be thankful that our family can be together. Go Bulls!!!!
  3. I think Coach Jack was thinking about the shot that Reid made against CMU at MAC tourney but both shots were really a great result. Some familiar faces on the VCU bench. Former head coach of Canisius Terry Zeh now an assistant and former UB forward Keona Walters now on VCU. The head coach at VCU was an assistant under Zeh for four years. Walters was not suited up for the game and not really sure why she left UB as her last year here she was a fairly productive player and a good downlow presence. It is amazing how the coaching fraternity goes around and around. Did notice the VCU team went back off the court for the national anthem and got booed when they came back on. As a veteran lost all respect for the entire team and not sure what the reasoning is as the players were joking and laughing when they came back on the court. It also did look like Coach Jack was not happy about what VCU did.
  4. Very good win tonight and exciting right down to the end. Should not of come down to that if we had made our foul shots at the end.Missed foul shots by several players and some very shaky in bounds plays. Woolley played another good game on both ends of the floor. She came up with a great defensive play along with a great outlet pass to Fair. Overall the defensive effort was very good. Still concerned about the foul troubles of Adeyeye and the poor play of Christie. Nia Jordan looked overwhelmed down low and I believe McEvans hurt her ankle and did not play down the stretch. Still a great gut check win after blowing that lead in the last minute. Go Bulls!!!
  5. Really sort of a mystery what happened to Mballa’s mental state. Without Mballa returning to some sort of play like last year I can’t see us winning the MAC. Skogman has not shown anything other than wanting to shoot 3’s and Brewton also has shown no consistency shooting 3’s. Hardnett has not shown he can be a full time player in the middle. Really putting all the onus on Williams, Segu and Jack and not sure they can do that night in and night out. Will continue to support both our teams and hope to go to Cleveland again. Go Bulls!!!
  6. Agree. Good team win with contributions from many players. Good ball movement with Fair not shooting great but with 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Summer finding her shooting touch with 20 point after the last two subpar shooting games. Woolley continues to look more comfortable and confident. VCU should be a good challenge. Go Bulls!!!
  7. Bona has been relevant because of being in the A-10 and finally getting some recognition because of winning. Same can be said about UB because of the national stage since winning under Hurley and Oats. The question is can both UB and Bona continue especially after this year where both teams are losing their top core players. Do think with Bona all the acolades they received can cause players to not being mentally into games. On paper with five senior players and the success they had last year they should roll over many teams but that is why you play thee games. Hope to see an exciting, competitive game with UB coming out on top. Go Bulls!!!
  8. Do agree with your recap. Angel Parker looks like the real deal being very quick and athletic and the younger Parker showed talent but with growing pains playing against better and more talented players. Do agree after those two there is really no help. What the Parker sisters would be like if on our team!! Do agree Christie looks totally lost with no upside. Coach Jack giving some minutes to Jordan and Keita shows no confidence in Christie. A little concerning over the last two games about Summer’s shooting but she helps in so many other ways. Woolley will help big time if she continues to be confident in her shot selection. The next few games will be a good gauge as UB will be playing better overall teams. Go Bulls!!!
  9. Looking forward to see the Parker sisters for Niagara. They are averaging 14 and 12 points per game. I seen them play at Cardinal O’Hara and were impressed with their overall ability. Nice to see some of our local players stay in the area. Looking for a big win tonight and hope better overall play from some of our reserve players. Go Bulls!!!
  10. Wow!! Amazing how the state of basketball is you live and die by the three point shot. Teams do not or can not change their game plan in today’s game. Very seldom do you see pull up jump shots or many shots inside the three point line. Games are littered with terrible three point percentages but very seldom do you see coaches change. Go Bulls!!!!
  11. Do agree with the three keys above. My concern is both Skogman and Fagan don’t match up against anyone on Bona. Skogman only seems to want to shoot the 3 ball and not sure on Fagan as either an outside or inside presence. Brewton could go a long way on helping if he could only become somewhat consistent from the 3 point line. Only hope our big four starters can stay out of foul trouble and play good team ball. Was not really counting on Brock but seen him in a walking boot the last game so not sure of his status for the year?? Who will be the the next man up?? Go Bulls!!!!
  12. I believe it can become a rivalry especially if both teams can become relevant to local and national fans. Years ago it was Bona in the national spotlight but only over the last number of years has Bona been very successful in the A-10 and of course over the last six plus years has UB been successful nationally. We just have to enjoy these years for what they are. Next year with Bona losing all their star players and UB losing their main starters who knows what the teams will look like. On another note we have to enjoy the UB women’s team because it feels a little like what happened to both Hurley and Oats leaving for big time jobs that it could happen to Coach Jack getting offers for coaching jobs especially if the would win the MAC and go to the tourney again. Go Bulls!!!
  13. Nice win the the team after the tournament. Sometimes when teams come back from away tournaments thy have a mental/physical letdown. It looked like that kind the first half against a pretty good Madison team. They had a b big athletic front court and a quick guard. We did not play defense with intensity and were off on our shooting. Summer had the same kind of shots she had in previous games but could not make a shot. The second half was like night and day. We increased the defensive intensity and started hitting shots. Summer continues to be a defensive presence with 13 rebounds even after having an off game offensively. A little concerned about our depth after Summer and Adeyeye. Christie looked totally lost and really has no quickness and presence on the boards. Hope Coach Jack can get a couple other players some playing time before conference play. Stilll no word on what happened to Gaba who I do not see on the bench.Looking forward the the next few home games and the Niagara game with the Parker sisters. Go Bulls!!!!
  14. I did not mean that these coaches cannot win to some degree with players that are not highly rated. There are many coaches that just have the it factor when dealing with young players on how to treat them and many coaches that are better recruiting and better at game decisions. It really is just the nature of sports that makes it exciting. Go Bulls!!!!
  15. Whoever the coach is he still has to have good players. I think the majority of Iona’s team is portal and transfers from other schools. Do agree a coach has to hit on transfers and recruits and turn them into players that play some kind of team ball. I still think all the high end and successful coaches would not be successful without the players that are the the best of the best in the country. All good conversations with fans about coaches and why they have been successful. Looking forward to seeing how both of our UB teams show progress this season. Go Bulls!!!
  16. Alabama was not bringing in 5 star recruits before Oats because they were not winning in conference that’s way they fired the coach before Oats. Recruiting and winning go hand in hand just as what happened here with successful teams comes better players wanting to come to your program. It is just specullation that Oats would of been successful at Canisius because how many top tier players would go to a MAAC school with the location of the school and a gym that is like a high school gym, It is always fun to talk about the what ifs in basketball. Go Bulls!!!!
  17. Nice turnaround game from last night. Positive points from the last game: more energy on the defensive end, better ball movement and making the extra pass, only I believe 9 turnovers, 52% shooting, 60% from 3’s, 93 % foul shooting, Mballa active on both ends of floor. I wonder if the coaching staff got on the players on last night’s performance. Go Bulls!!!
  18. Agree and with all of their top guys seniors that helps in tight games. Welch is the one player that has struggled shooting 35% from field and 29% from 3’s and averaging a little over 8 points. Watch out if he gets hot and starts finding the range on his shots. It will be interesting on how we can handle Bona’s constant pressure because they are not going to let up. Go Bulls!!!
  19. It is going to be interesting as the year goes on what the rotation will look like. What players will be able to give positive minutes for our starters. Still think Coach is giving too many minutes to Brock. It seems like he is being rewarded for being the faithful soldier all these years. It is important to give some playing time and game time exposure to the players that will be here in the coming years. Go Bulls!!!
  20. Good question on Wilson and also what’s the status on Gaba?? Do agree that it was a nice win over a team that is not very good with both their coach and many players leaving. Does it seem as Fair goes so do the rest of the team?? I think we can have a very successful year as we will not be playing the likes of South Carolina and Oklahoma. Go Bulls!!!
  21. Will see what both the players and coaching staff can learn from these beat downs. Summer and Adeyeye had better showings. Both Camp and Woolley were overmatched again. Fair shot horribly and only played 24 minutes. Did she get hurt or just taken out to let other players get some game exposure?? Look forward to their games back home when the competition should be more in line with our ability. Go Bulls!!!
  22. My brothers and I have been saying since the Syracuse debacle that we need to enjoy this team and the players we have because if and when Coach Jack leaves a number of our best players will be going with her unfortunately. We will make all the games and hope to go to Cleveland for the MAC and see this team win it all. Go Bulls!!
  23. Both Summer and Adeyeye both in early foul trouble and eventually fouled out. Camp showed some growing pains and did not match up against superior South Carolina. Woolley the freshman from Australia who showed decent in our first two games was 0-9 in this one and hopefully the team will learn from playing a quality team. Go Bulls!!
  24. I do agree the depth issue could be a concern. How this coaching staff handles the rotation and gets some other players into the mix could be the key to our success once the MAC schedule starts. Go Bulls!!!
