  1. Can’t disagree, but since he is still on the roster, I’d have to imagine there is a reasonable chance that he will continue to be. Not to mention who on this board has all of the facts of what happened? If there is no trial, we may never know. There could be significant reasons he stays on the team or not. It may be true that I do not understand the process on how a student athlete can be dismissed from the team and his scholarship with cause. I imagine that he has already completed the student judiciary process.
  2. All the best to him. Plenty of good reasons to select every team on his list. Who am I to say it’s a recruiting blunder? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, but the young man picked the best option for him. Plus we still don’t know the status of Malik Zachary who is a PG. I think there is at least a reasonable chance he is on our team next year. He came to our program with some decent offers after a year at JUCO, so there should be some expectations for him.
  3. I was rooting for him to win it all! Why not? Happy for him and the success he has at at Alabama and will certainly have moving forward.
  4. Next year promises to be a better year.
  5. I’m excited for our juniors and adding Maceo Jack. If Skogman reaches his potential, it could be a big year. Backup pg and wing will be important needs. Hopefully some freshman as opposed to jc transfers.
  6. Tons of individual talent on the team. Great athletes. Good college basketball players. Not enough basketball IQ. We have to hit on one if our transfers based on the law of averages. Hopefully Maceo will be ready to step into a big role.
  7. Disappointed is an understatement. Congrats to the team for a tremendous turnaround this year. It was a fun ride. Many teams would have folded. The team deserved a better ending. It’s not all doom and gloom. Williams game improved significantly this year. So did Mballa. Segu has a tremendous year too. If Williams defense can improve as much as his offense has, he will be POTY. All the best to the seniors, especially Graves. I’m sure he is way more disappointed than any of us fans. He is a tremendous athlete and will go down as one of our top players.
  8. Can’t disagree. Reasonable conclusions. Hiring Coach Whitesell was the right move at the time. I understand the arguments on why we should have went another direction when Whitesell got the promotion, but I thought it was the right move. He and his staff did a remarkable job after a 6-6 start to the season. But the 6-6 start represents his career numbers. It’s easy to second guess coaching decisions. We didn’t loose today because of coaching. Oats would have lost this game too. Ohio played really well and deserved to win. However, unless expectations are adjusted, many of us will likely be disappointed. I’m for a reset, but that’s not happening. Hopefully Whitesell outperforms his career numbers again next year. Go Bulls!
  9. This team needs a guard that can shoot the ball. Toledo packed it in and dared us to shoot. Bulls have two elite players in Mballa and Williams. Need more production from the guards. Guards had a rough game. Segu is a great player but he is best when he is distributing the ball. Graves is a fine role player but he has certainly regressed. We did not lose today because of coaching! Toledo shot the ball well and deserved the win. Granted, I still questioned their switching on the ball on defense and the use of timeouts once again. That Williams turnover on the inbounds on the sideline was horrendous. We are who we are at this point. We have the the most athleticism in the conference and have tremendous potential, but I’m sorry to say we are destined for an early out in the conference tournament.
  10. He’s a heck of a ball player when he’s playing with confidence, but it appears he has no confidence right now.
  11. Graves was a great role player his first two years, but what has happened? Cannot finish. Playing without an ounce of confidence.
  12. Whitesell Has gotta go. I’ve seen enough.
  13. That’s not a good look for Coach Boeheim. if teenage athletes are talking junk on the court, it’s hardly out of the norm. I’m not excusing something that may have been said, but for Coach Boeheim to say that he will not play Buffalo again is a bit harsh. I’m sure it has nothing to do with some dominating play by the Bulls.
  14. I was hoping Coach Quarles would be given the head coach role with Coach Whitesell on the sideline. Nothing against Coach Thorpe, but I like the idea of a rising prospect (aka Coach Oates). Go Bulls!
  15. Bench play has been poor. That’s been the story of this young season. No energy from coach. Cannot picture Whitesell turning this horrid start around. He doesn’t have it. Alnutt’s going to have a decision to make after this season. I’m willing to be patient, but I’m not too optimistic. On the positive, Segu has improved and can score in many ways. Williams can score in bunches too, but he is less reliable on defense. I think we will go as far as Mballa takes us. 1-0 with him. 0-2 without. Hope he is back soon.
  16. Disappointing loss, but give credit to Army who played well. They should have a good season. A few observations....Segu is going to fun to watch. Graves was inefficient over the the first two games, but I think he will be fine. Hardnett is an efficient player, but he has to improve his body language on the court. I’ve consistently noticed that about him. He’s always shrugging his shoulders. Today he slapped himself in the head a few times after a play. Gallion brings energy, but too many poor shots. He comes into the game and almost immediately shoots a contested three.
  17. I’ve searched social media, other fan forums, etc. and found nothing about about Josiah withdrawing his commitment. It’s a big decision and if it’s true that he has second guessed himself, he won’t be the first. He appears to be someone that will play as a freshman if he commits to playing defense. It’s clear this kid can shoot the three. Go Bulls!
  18. This is my first post. I’ve been following this board for a long time, but finally created an account. I’ve been going to games since Coach Weatherspoon took over the program when we hosted NC. I just finished listening to Coach Whitesell on the UB basketball radio show. I like Jim. He seems to be authentic and that’s certainly important quality in life. However passion is just as important IMO and that seems lacking at times with Coach. I was frustrated how satisfied he sounded by just beating Miami on Saturday. Coach Oats set a new standard for our program last year and we seem to have gone back to the old days. We should be blowing these MAC teams out. We probably have the best roster of talent, but not the best team. That’s on Coach. I certainly believe it’s possible to win the MAC tournament, but probably equally possible to lose the first game. Hopefully Coach and his staff can inspire these players to get it done in Cleveland. A little more passion wouldn’t hurt. Go Bulls!
