  1. No it has not. The area has 2 baseball teams, two football teams (allegedly), two basketball teams and three hockey teams. It is not a college sports area. It will not become a college sports area. Rutgers, which is 20 minutes from the southern most part of New York City, despite being in the Big 10, is a non-entity on the New York sports scene. Stony Brook will not take the area as the college team.
  2. Today UB was named the co-flagship university within the SUNY System along with Stony Brook. Both are the only AAU institutions in the system. Would have preferred being the only one, but this is better than not having the designation. http://www.buffalo.edu/home/story-repository.host.html/content/shared/university/news/news-center-releases/2022/01/007.detail.html
  3. The who sets the rules? No one? By the way the most hypocritical thing going is schools complaining about the NCAA rules. They voted for them.
  4. This describes a clear NCAA violation. Deals are not allowed to be used as an enticement to enroll at any school. Nor can any company participate in recruiting. Only employees of the university who have passed a NCAA test can recruit (which makes you wonder if the statements of Deion Sanders that he helped recruit for Florida State when he was not employed by the school will be investigated). Early report of NIL earnings were under $500.00. That number was skewed because of a couple of very large deals (some of which probably were buss for the companies that paid out the large numbers). Also both Miami (Fl) and BYU are under investigation for possible violations, although in the absence of NCAA rules on most NIL deals, I am not sure what of anything the NCAA can do about it.
  5. Been there, done that, although it was a Wednesday. Much better than 130 degrees on the field in Lincoln.
  6. But nobody really knows who Q is or if he really exists.
  7. I have not seen this skimming through the thread, but the is one simple reason they lost, foul shooting. Miami: 20-24 .833 UB 19-32 .594
  8. Done deal. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/central-michigan-to-play-washington-state-in-sun-bowl-after-miami-pulls-out-due-to-covid-19-issues/
  9. So much for an excuse not to go to the in-laws on New Year's Day.
  10. Miami of Florida has backed out of the Sun Bowl, COVID. Ditto on Boise for the Arizona Bowl. IF the MAC allows Central Michigan out of the Arizona Bowl they are headed to the SUN Bowl for a $4,550,000.00 payout instead of the $350,000.00 for the Arizona Bowl. Decision within 24 hours. This would mean a lot more money foe everyone in the MAC. A silver lining in the cloud of COVID.
  11. See what happens if they lose to Cincinnati. There will be people who will Saban gone. He cannot win back to back titles anymore.
  12. The open man? In a post about women's basketball?
  13. Not really the Schlitz bull, since that was actually used in the 1970s. But yes.
  14. It takes a while for the news of logo changes to make it to the west coast. Supply chain issues with the Pony Express.
  15. Coach Daniels the running back coach and recruiting coordinator has moved on. He will be the running backs coach at Georgia Tech.
  16. How about going to crowded places without masks.
  17. Rescheduling issues. It also puts pressure on all players and staff to be careful and not do stupid things.
  18. Simple fix. If a team cannot play a game it is a forfeit. If both teams cannot play then a double forfeit.
  19. Princeton shut own the day after the game. Fortunately, it was a sparsely attended game.
