  1. Oats mentioned in an interview he is away from the team due to a death in the family
  2. Some upper echelon Euro league team should just scrap their roster and adopt this one because I swear as good as these guys are all on their own it will never be as good as they are together.
  3. Obviously looks bad, but I’ve never seen a player go down with an injury and come back into the game later more than I’ve seen Wes Clark do it. He’s a warrior.
  4. In true Buffalo fashion, core players had off games and a host of others stepped up. Very cool to watch these guys play together again - something I’ve wanted to see for a while come to life
  5. Oh wow good catch. Mading caught juicing.
  6. https://www.instagram.com/p/CRo9hXXtLHL/?utm_medium=copy_link UB men’s hoops Instagram posted a picture of the current squad with the TBT team. Mading is crazy tall
  7. Why? TBT is all about the players and their relationships with one another. No scholarships, no curriculum. Players assemble teams based on their comfort level with one another to win $1 million. Bearden left because he felt it was a better opportunity (or positive drug tests squeezed him out, who knows). He still spent a significant amount of time at Buffalo and developed relationships with players who obviously trust him and his abilities. Moss left under worse circumstances, but the same can be said of him. They’ve both matriculated from the amateur ranks and as adults are choosing their teams to make some money, and their teams are choosing them. If they think Andrew Atman adds something to their bench more power to them. They owe nothing to the university at this point. I for one am just excited to watch them play again.
  8. Can’t wait to see this team play together, especially with Moss rocking this look
  9. If it's Ianello I am done giving Alnutt the benefit of the doubt.
  10. Kid hasn't even committed and we're scheduling his transfer out.
  11. Good Luck Lance. Les Miles coached this squad to an 0-9 season but I'm sure you know what you're doing...
  12. Solid get. Regardless of how he’s ends up as a player I love it just to keep the Indian Hills pipeline rolling. Graves is definitely a loss, but if you’re talking Graves, Nickelberry and Gallion out vs Jack, Jones, Williamson and Mading in, I think the turnover could be a net positive for this squad in terms of production.
  13. Justin Moss & Dontay Caruthers - more Indian Hills players please.
  14. I like it a lot. I don’t know how long he’ll extend his shooting range in college but he looks like the type of 5 that can fit well in a fast offense. He reminds me a bit of Toledo’s AJ Edu who’s college career has been derailed a bit by injuries but should be great for them going forward. The prep school circuit in Carolina is no joke either. I’d hope he’d be ready to contribute sooner rather than later.
  15. Love the tape. This is a recruit I would truly be excited about
  16. James Reese (North Texas) has entered the transfer portal. This one surprises me - seemed like he found a good spot after Buffalo.
  17. I get what you're saying and Oats is a terrific coach but what he's done isn't magic, it's coaching practices that should be apparent and imitable with every practice. Whitesell was on his staff for 4 years and should be able to duplicate Oats' approach to the best of his abilities. If his aim was not to duplicate Oats' success but to highlight what he himself brings to the table I'd argue that's a fault not a strength of his hire and a betrayal of the very reason we'd have moved him up the bench to the HC position in the first place.
  18. What a waste of Justin Turner's career.
  19. Preston and BVP are fun to watch. I’m glad they’re moving on
  20. Friendly reminder that UB is presently on probation due to the actions of an assistant hired by our current Head Coach.
  21. Disappointing effort tonight. Hope our core group return next year to prove this isn’t who they are.
  22. We look like a D2 team tonight. Hope we can make it competitive in the second half but hard to hold out much hope
  23. I definitely take a step back on my criticism of the Whitesell hire & era given the recent surge of competition. The team looks to have gelled and is playing with a fire not seen earlier in the year - I criticized Wihtesell for that earlier in the year so it would be hypocritical to not praise him for the turnaround. Regardless of what happens tonight, getting here was a huge step. Win and the undisputed dominance of Buffalo over the MAC conference continues. Lose and this stud junior class has a huge motivation to stick together and prove that they can return to win it in their senior season.
  24. I love it. TBT Instantly becomes must watch basketball for me.
