Rather than view everything as black and white - maybe understand that many of us think Whitesell isn’t the greatest coach on the planet and all evidence points to him not taking us to the next level. But he’s certainly not the worst and we’ve got a pretty good squad this year. Also, I don’t think people understand the toll so many games in such a short period of time takes on the body. Especially long bus trips to Miami (and now another long bus trip today to NIU). I enjoyed the dub!

Can you believe Ken State? Ohio outscored them the entire second half (literally half the game!). Flashes need to do some soul searching…

One thing I’ll never understand about the Women’s game is they never bleed the clock. Last night Ball State had hit a 3 with 40 seconds left to be down 2. UB called a timeout, inbounded at half court and ran a quick handoff to DF. Immediately she launched a 3. She hit it, so kudos to her. But this is one of so many examples that our Women’s team never bleeds the clock when up in tight games. This was a “What are you doin…NICE SHOT” moments. Coach Jack has forgotten more than I know about hoops. But this is one thing I’ll never understand.

Correct. He was out the WKU game. Still crazy to see how far they’ve come. I think they are undefeated on the road as well.

Maybe people here haven’t been college basketball fans for all that long. I don’t know. I get it, we all thought we would be better than we are. Get over it. It seems people expected us to maintain the level we were at when Oats left. As in one of the best seasons in college basketball history, especially for a G5. Even Nate Oats wouldn’t have matched that season the next year, had he come back. But what in college basketball history tells you it will be maintained? It was a special group of players. But we’ve been consistently good since then too, but more MAC good. It’s ok to want more. But to set that as your baseline expectation isn’t realistic. Let’s enjoy Jeenathan and Rondo while they’re here. It doesn’t mean everything is rosy, Whitesell has his worts for sure. But I’m sure Toledo, right now the best team in the conference, doesn’t think Ball State is garbage. It was a nice win in a game we sometimes haven’t shown we can pull out. Some things to work on but a fun team nonetheless. Let’s Go Bulls!

Also, as per most games this year, crowd def filled in much more after tip off. Nothing like it used to be, but much better than the “5 minutes to tip” photos show.

+1 This game thread is comical. It was a fun game to be at. Typical bad refs but is what it is. Sparks is going to be a problem in the future but again, fun game and our team executed enough to get the win. Williams is quietly an all-time great and taking the charge down the stretch was HUGE.

Not sure if anyone is paying attention but North Texas sits at 17-4. Hell of a win earlier this year.

Obviously whether you’re the 4 or 5, it really doesn’t matter. Last year we made the run all the way to 2. Let’s make that run again.

I like Williams and think he has talent but he disappeared at the end of the year. Some his fault some the poor QB play but it seemed he wasn’t much of a threat for defenses to respect.

Having covid has nothing to do with it. I don’t know why he fancies himself a guard. He jacked up 4 threes bc Kent was leaving him wide open out there, for good reason. He also had some easy scoring opportunities after he established himself down low but instead passed out of them. He’s a big part of our team and I totally understand if he was sick/recovering. But his decision making this year seems to have regressed for whatever reason.

What the heck is up with Mballa? He was at the 3 point line all game - on offense and defense. Yo man, there’s a reason they leave you all by yourself. STOP SHOOTING! Also, he had several easy layup/potential dunks and he chose to pass it back outside. Head scratcher.

Think Peck said we were like 56-0 when that happens? Not sure if I got that number right, but it’s a huge number and it’s crazy!

Honestly nobody knows what their team will look like, given the transfer portal and all. Also, while there are varying degrees of likeliness, technically Mballa, Williams and Segu have another year if they so choose. Brock has to be done, right? Lol
