Tv isn’t paying big money to low level conferences. That’s my point. It’s eaten up by the big guys. The lower level conferences would do well to lean into what makes college sports special - regionality for fans and rivalries. The Power programs don’t care about rivalries bc their stadiums are full and they’re getting gobs of tv money. We should do the opposite. I agree we should add WKU and MTSU. Problem is last time we had that chance, some MAC Presidents reportedly voted no bc they felt like they’d have to further invest in their own programs to stay competitive.

Not in the G5. The Sun Belt has leaned into regionality. Because in the G5 the tv money just isn’t there. Heck, the PAC12 just found that out. The G5 needs to lean into the fans for a change and do everything to make it fan friendly and have local rivals.

I get it. But these are professional athletes that won $1 million last year. To each their own, but asking for hand outs doesn’t seem to sit right with me.

Honestly I haven’t seen GH3 say anything about even being good lol. Only “I like their intensity” and generic things like that. While I agree, SUNY does not regulate private enterprise, which is what a collective is.

That’s not a collective that pays players which is what we’re all talking about.

SUNY has nothing to do with it. Collectives are private entities created by donors. The school/state has nothing to do with it.

I think many forget that you can get a transfer with multiple years to play (that isn’t as easy to transfer out). Q had 3 years here, Mballa I believe did as well. You can get impactful players from the portal that aren’t 1 year rentals is all I’m saying. We need guys who can be impactful not just this upcoming year but the following one as well until these young guys can develop more. I don’t mind a rebuild. I just don’t want to be dead last and not competitive either. Last year we got beaten badly by the top teams and that was with guys like Curtis, Q and others here.

Well right now we have the same team as last year, minus Q, Curtis and Zid + Sy. None of the freshmen initially seem like they will be impactful in terms of scoring consistently, so we’ve lost a lot and gained a little. Some upperclassmen to balance out the roster seems ideal, IMO.

Still a ton of guys in the portal it seems.

Only Wild West for P5, not schools like Buffalo.
