This was what the apex of Bobby Hurley/Nate Oats style basketball looks like - lot of shots, high paced, take risks (turnovers) but when the shots (especially the threes) are dropping, you absolutely BURY some unsuspecting team.  Joe Mihalich's Purple Chickens teams with Tyrone Lewis aimed to do that too.  As some other posters have asked - when those shots aren't dropping, when the opponent is taking away how you want to play, can you pivot to something else?  Maybe that's where the "consistency" that people are looking for comes in - not doing the same thing every game (because let's be real, you're not going to shoot almost 60% every time), but being able to find another way.  Is that a lot to ask of a new group of players a little over halfway into the season?  Part of me thinks they're pretty far along because they can look THIS good when it comes together.

If you put Ball St. and the Bowling Green game, that is some high powered, in conference basketball. Our ceiling is high, but there is no saying they can do it day in/day out, but when they do, boy is it fun to watch!🤘🤘

How about this stat for Armoni Foster, he is really starting to find his way. This was published by Josh Whetzel:

"Armoni is first Bull in at least ten years to be perfect from the floor with at least eight shot attempts. He’s first in country this season to go at least 8 for 8 from field while also dishing out at least seven assists."

Do agree. Foster seems like he is becoming more comfortable in his play. It is a wonderful thing when we can have great stats in several categories. I did not see the game but was there better overall ball movement where the guys were getting open shots?? But of course better ball movement and open shots mean success when we can make them. Wonder if this is what we will see the rest of the year or can they become a more consistent team on the positive side? Go Bulls!

Ball St began turning the ball over right from the start, and UB was on fire. Foster fed Jack for a couple layups and Jones and Adams hit a couple outside shots. I didn’t see anything different from other games except everything was falling. Some of Ball State’s TOs were unforced. Sparks was a non entity. Their only weapon, Coleman, started cooking later and couldn’t miss. As others have already mentioned, it was great to see the Bulls hit back after the Cardinals cut the lead to 9. This team is fun to watch, and when they are on they’ll match up with anybody in the MAC. Can they be consistent? Let’s see how they follow up at Kent on Friday. The Golden Flashes will be licking their wounds, but I think the Bulls can give them a game.

UB’s 3-Pt shooting has picked up in MAC play at 37%, 5th best in the conference. Last 3 games the Bulls are shooting a sizzling 45% from deep (27/60).

UB is 3rd in FG% in MAC games and 2nd in FG% defense.  Bulls leading the MAC in rebounds and assists, tied for 2nd in steals, 3rd in Assist to TO ratio, 2nd in pts per game and 4th in point differential.

For all the ups and downs, there is potential to be a top 3 or 4 team in the MAC and it’s encouraging to see this team sticking together and continuing to play hard. If not for the frustrating losses to MOH and CMU we’d all be feeling a lot more confident going into the game with Kent. But that’s why they play all 40:00 of these games!
