I had a dream last night that UB played Gonzaga in the final four. Unfortunately we lost 151 to 150 in OT. Afterward the announcers were calling it the greatest game in the history of NCAA basketball. By the way, Harris hit a clutch 3 to send the game to OT.

LINK: Let's send the UB seniors out in style! My article today is a pretty simple concept! Let's enjoy what tonight represents by soaking everything in. This senior class has been special. Nick Perkins was the first one to join the Bulls with CJ Massinburg committing shortly after Nate Oats became head coach. They're the ones that helped pave the way for Buffalo to get to the next level but it wouldn't have been possible without Dontay Caruthers, Jeremy Harris and Montell McRae joining along the way. Congratulations to all of them tonight on their final home games at Alumni Arena!

Thanks for your comments. A lot of the passionate fans comments are based not on any facts or some insider information we know but just like me I want him to stay because of what Nate has meant to the program and what it has done for the UB family and fans. I just can’t see him leaving and go to a team that his in shambles and in a conference where the team has a bad record with little chance of competing against the big boys. There are coaches all over the country that have taken other jobs and after 3/5 years of failure have lost their jobs and have to start all over again. I know it can come down to the money but in Nate’s own words it has to be the right fit. Go Bulls!!!!

Heard also that Noah Williams a 6’3 point guard from Seattle, WA will also be visiting. What a great time to have two possible recruits here. A sold out game where we can set a record for wins and with senior night festivities. Looking forward to a big win and a great send off for our seniors. Go Bulls!!!!!

That means loud and proud. No sitting on our hands tonight. The entire student section should follow the lead of True Blue and the band. No sitting. As for the rest of the crowd... every time BG is at the free throw line, need to be loud and distracting. Can't tell you how many times the cheerleaders, after running down the side with their "Be Loud" or "Make noise" signs, come back and say, "everybody just sits there". Let's show our guys, especially the seniors, know how much we're behind them. In doing so, we'll also be showing the recruits what kind of atmosphere they could be playing in next year, all while show the national TV audience how great UB is.

Can it be 5 p.m. alright so I can go to the game? Loving the press we are getting right now.

Sort of a random update but just picked my sibling up from the airport, her flight in from Las Vegas had Hawkins on it. He laughed when he felt how cold out it was then started nodding and walking to his ride. My point though since we knew he was coming, is that he looks much taller than 6’9. I’d say he’s more 6’11 bordering the 7 foot area. Looked a little skinny, would need to do some bulking up but pretty much every freshman not named Zion Williamson comes in needing to hit the weight room. Go Bulls

John, I do have some insight as I know both Nate and Crystal. I have talked to them. They have shared their love of and for UB, Buffalo, the community and their desire to build a "Gonzaga" type program with me. While we are far from that now, who would have thought it possible just seven or eight years ago that UB Basketball would be where it is now? I was certainly one who did. But there were few other Bullievers. I am confident Nate will be here next year as I was last year when many if not most thought he would be moving on. As I have written elsewhere continue to Bullieve, support the program, donate when and as often as you can, promote the program (how much fun is that right now?!?!) and keep going to games! Go Bulls!!

This is gonna be awesomely insane! Can’t wait. They may need to shut down Alumni. Hope we click and get some positive momentum going and start trending up. After Friday’s game we get almost a week off. Good time to rest, recover and practice.

I just think the notion or suggestion at all of UB as a national champ is quite amazing. Not sure I would have expected that thought in my lifetime. I still dont think we end up that high (4 seed) but just the look of it on a bracket would just still seem surreal.

You just never know what can happen to mid major programs when a coach who was successful leaves for greener pastures(as in more money). John Groce leaving for Illinois, not working out and back in the MAC at Akron. Jim Christian leaving Ohio for Boston College but is on the hot seat there. Shaka Smart leaving VCU and is on the hot seat at Texas. Of course all of them left for big time jumps in salary from the $1.4 - $3 Million. Danny Hurley from Rhode Island going to UCONN in the $3 million range but he will get his 3-5 years to turn that program around. More money in different programs don’t mean more stability.but I guess these individuals always think they will get another job somewhere. You never know or can predict if your program is going to take a backward trend or be successful. It is important to keep Nate for as long as possible. Go Bulls!!!!!
