  1. Well well well, things got dicey when Bona closed it to 6 with the ball. But we responded on both ends. Dare I say this team is growing.

  2. I’ll eat crow, I didn’t see that coming. Great win for UB. I’m really encouraged by the 1-2 scoring punch they’re developing with Jones/Powell. It’s never easy controlling the tempo against St. Bonaventure and the Bulls controlled the pace from the very start.

  3. Happy to see the guys playing up to what their individual talents are, and taking care of things as a group over these past few games, especially the last 2 at home. Also happy for the coaching staff, who put together a team that does have some solid talent, after being depleted by graduation and a couple of transfers out. While this team won't be a top 25 team like a few years ago, this team is more than capable of competing in the MAC for a title. Will they win it? Maybe, maybe not. There's 12 teams in the league and their chances are better than many and likely comparable to the remainder. Let's hope they keep playing team basketball and staying within themselves. The record is now even and will likely move above .500 against a sub-par opponent on Tuesday, before hitting a gauntlet over the rest of the month before MAC play. Fun times recently, let's hope it continues!

  5. Put $50 on Akron to cover that insane 13.5 point giveaway and got the best of both worlds. The win and the money! Congrats on the win, boys. It wasn't much of a season but hopefully the bowl game will elevate some spirits and help maintain some of the roster for next year so we can build on it.

  6. When I go to a game I go to see a game. Being at a game live is different than watching it at home. I have never once nor will I ever decide to go to a game because of some side show that goes on during the game. If I want music I would go to a concert, a bar or a club where music is the attraction. The food offered for sale at a game is irrelevant as well as to whether I go to a game. If I eat at a game it is some sort of junk food, popcorn or a pretzel. As for when the conference games are played, they are Tuesday and Saturdays. The Friday conference games are for TV. The two Friday night games are on CBS Sports Network and ESPNU. Possibly a Saturday could get picked up for a national broadcast, and then TV will dictate game time. When I was at UB about 15 minutes before a game we would leave the dorms and walk over to Clark Hall and watch the game, regardless of game time. Did we cheer? Yes and without a "student section" The way to get better attendance for the on campus students is to black out the games in the dorms for streaming and on TV channels. If you want to see the game they would be forced to actually go to the game.

  7. Ohio down 21 at the half to Marshall, who beat Akron by 11 in their last game and Miami by 26 couple weeks ago. Miami lost by 27 to Indiana State today, who beat Drake by 2 in their last game. Ball State lost by 1 to Duquesne, who beat Colgate by 5 earlier this season. Interesting to see how other MAC teams are faring against common opponents of UB’s (or vs opponents who have common opponents w/ UB). Seems like we’ll be right in the mix in conference play.

  8. Very nice win. Improvement with turnovers, foul shooting and rebounding. Jones and Powell emerging as lead scorers. We attacked the basket. The team appeared to have fun. We do need more production from the bench We will be more than ok this year. With football win yesterday, let`s enjoy the moment go Bulls

  9. I recommend the BBQ sauce with your crow. I hope this continues and the confidence grows. Getting 4 in double figures, 1.8 TO/A and the passing was outstanding. Looking for the open man and once SB focused on Jone Zid did his thing. Also, the FT shooting was the best in a while.

  11. Student section finally showed up. It was light early on. General attendance is decent. Probably 70-30 bulls fans

  12. So I guess Curtis Jones took exception to my post, so I apologize.

  13. The Bonnie's have responded to losing to the Griff's very well The pace this game is played I think is key played at the Bonnie's pace isn't where UB will succeed. Would expect too see ub's players with speed to get a bit more playing time today to help with this

  14. Ever watch a Duke game at Cameron Indoor? Plain and simple I rather attend a game with a rowdy crowd than those who sit on their hands and barely cheer, thus the need for artificial noise. I get it, we are grown adults can’t act like kids. But the students are kids…they can go nuts. Cow bell, naked dude and all. Bring the noise. An example…standing while chanting defense is better than fans who sit and wait for a forced turnover to cheer. Question for you…whether you are at home or at any sporting event…do you not stand when moments are tense?

  15. KVT sitting at 3,900 yards and 25 TD on a whopping 558 pass attempts (46.5/game). Very similar metrics to last year at UB just much higher volume like you said, and overall has had a better year statistically than Snyder though they both wound up at 6-6 so not sure he would’ve been a difference maker had he stayed at UB. Will be interesting to see what bowl Georgia Southern plays in, and very interesting if it winds up being vs UB as someone mentioned in another thread. Wish him well whoever they play.

  16. It’s not about proving something. It’s about supporting the team. Providing a home court advantage. Making alumni, which is a smaller venue, a loud place for visitors. To his point, when I attended UB from 02-06 we stood for all 40 minutes. It was just what we did. And anyone can check the records and those who attended in those years can attest, alumni was rocking. I’m not gonna say it hasn’t rocked since, I’m simple agreeing that the atmosphere is different. We don’t need a dj. The play on the court, the band, cheerleaders and dazzlers (if they are still a thing) is more than enough. Instead of providing a college type atmosphere we grasp at straws to get ppl to come. Yes the team needs to be better but there needs to be better giveaways and student engagement. On all ends. Rant over.

  17. Agreed. Any college kicker should be able to kick a ball straight when kicking into 20 mph winds. Money Mitch was way better.

  18. I really wish the student section would stand during the games. There was a decent stretch of a few years where the entire student section was on their feet for most/all of the game.

  19. This is unfair to McNulty and doesn't recognize how good he has been for almost all of his UB career, especially on extra points. That was always an adventure, pre-McNulty. Heck, I think we missed a tying extra point at the end of a game versus NIU several years ago (we came back late). McNulty on extra points 2018: 3/4 on extra points 2019: 40/42 on extra points 2020: 42/42 on extra points 2021: 37/37 on extra points 2022: 37/38 on extra points (not including the many he will kick today versus Akron). It is, basically, automatic and we did not have that prior to McNulty. McNulty on FG within 40 yards 2018: 1/1 2019: 8/10 2020: 1/3 2021: 8/9 2022: 10/11 Where McNulty has really become a weapon this year is 40+ yards on FG, where he is 10/12. UBinMD, the reality is you haven't had to close your eyes on extra points for many years, not just this year. You (and many others) will miss him when he is gone.

  20. Curtis Jones gets much less hype and has averaged 22/game the last 3 weeks. I’ll keep Curt.

  21. I do think it's interesting that Vantrease's metrics at Georgia Southern this year are near the same as they were for UB last year, just with far more passing volume. Snyder this year is performing slightly worse than Vantrease last year in most metrics, though he adds more on the ground and has a better TD/INT ratio, so it's roughly a wash. UB is throwing the ball significantly more this year (which is fine) but has gotten essentially no increase in the quality of QB play.
