  2. Didn’t know where to put this post but shout out to the best Bull ever on another Pro Bowl. Speaking of the portal and NIL, can you imagine if Khalil Mack played here now? maybe he’d last a season or two before getting a bag of NIL money and lured to the SEC or Big10. We were fortunate he played at UB for 4 seasons.

  3. I admit I have blind loyalty to U of Buffalo Yes, I have seen questioning play calling and lack of discipline for both football and basketball. Would I like coaches to be Vince Lombardi and Red Auerbach- absolutely. I also recognize we got quite fortunate with both Lance Leopold and Nate Oates. That all said we have good and improving teams. Lets give our coaches some credit. We have our best ever football recruiting class. Yes it is Division 3 Canton, but we look improved and only getting better Let’s be optimistic Let’s enjoy our progress in our holiday season let’s be respectful and supportive of our coaches and players Go Bulls

  4. We look incredible! Hard to believe this is the same team that lost to West Virginia...

  5. I’ve always said this…we should play NYC area schools more often. We need to both open recruiting pipelines into the city and gain more exposure for our city alumni base. Why not play Fordham. St. John’s. Rutgers. Seton Hall…on the road. I understand the need for home games and the net rankings. And I’m not saying do this formula of mostly road games every year, but every few years take the road paycheck. That way in the next season we can buy a good game to alumni. Just a thought.

  9. From what I read in the past - Niagara didn't want to play anymore. My brother counts it as a "forfeit" by them every year now 🙂 I agree that it should be possible to play the other SUNY D-1 teams (Albany, Stony Brook, Binghamton). And yeah, as someone mentioned, try to play where the school has a lot of alums. NYC area. And as I've suggested over the years - football and/or basketball should try to play a game every year down in Florida. The school can set up a tailgate and make a big deal for Buffalo people who have moved down there. As for last night - D3 opponent, D3 crowd (I was a kid at those games). But this team needs games, all these players need reps. They're not the finished product yet but I do feel like they're as ready as they're going to be for MAC play. They look a lot better than they did a month and a half ago. Caesar and Jack will get more playing time once they get better on defense. Both have good moves on offense, which will get them minutes off the bench. But they're freshmen - I don't expect to see the finished article yet. It makes Curtis Jones, in the first semester of his sophomore year, look like he's pretty far along. I'm looking forward to the MAC games and the increased intensity out there. I'm interested to see how the team handles that, and grows with it.

  10. Yeah, that's the one I was thinking. His name is Alek Reynolds out of Wayne HS in Ontario Center, NY. Says he's a 4.5 star. Venneri was good, but maybe one of them can kick too.

  11. Not sure why this kid wasn't included in the press release, but it appears we signed the #1 Long Snapper out of PA, so that's kinda cool: Whoever put the tree together should get bonus points!

  12. I would go to a Siena, Marist, Iona, Army or Albany road game. That would be preferable to firing up ESPN+ to watch a game vs a D3 opponent.

  13. It is announced after the signing day in February. Also to the poster above Coach Linguist is the fourth coach, not the third to take UB to a bowl game: Gill: International Quinn: Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Leipold: Dollar General (now Lending Tree), Bahamas, Camellia Bowls Linguist: Camellia Bowl

  14. Respect to Canton, they played hard for 40 and kept it clean. Hope they can get a boost from this kind of experience. Easy to say after that performance, but I want to see more of Ceaser building towards Cleveland. It doesn't all have to come at once, but the best version of UB in March will feature plenty of DEVIN.

  15. A couple of interesting MAC team's games tonight that should provide some perspective heading into MAC conference play. Kent St vs NM State - Kent favored by 4 pts - 7:30 p.m. - appears to be a listen only option. Kent St (Net Rank - 34; Kenpom 70; Torvik 48; Massey 90; Sagarin 57) New Mexico St (Net Rank - 83; Kenpom 104; Torvik 101; Massey 95; Sagarin 87) A win will solidify Kent as the team to beat in MAC while a loss would reduce the perceived gap between them and the rest of the MAC. Kent has been winning by playing terrific defense, opponent eFG% is 44.2% and forced Turnover Rate (24.5%), both stats are in top 25 in the country. Ohio @ Delaware - Ohio is a 2.5 pt underdog - 7:00 p.m. - ESPN+ Ohio (Net Rank - 168; Kenpom 194; Torvik 179; Massey 149; Sagarin 165) Delaware (Net Rank - 172; Kenpom 174; Torvik 174; Massey 148; Sagarin 163) On paper these are two very evenly matched teams. A win by Ohio could narrow the perceived gap between them and the top 3 of the MAC (Kent, Akron, and Toledo) The rest of the MAC slate is not all that interesting.
