  1. That was the most exciting UB athletics event I've experienced in a long time. Congrats, ladies!

  2. So... who is making an unplanned trip to Cleveland tomorrow?

  3. Definitely. And let’s all agree that whatever happens tomorrow, win or lose, that we’re proud of this season and this group. Friendly reminder the MAC picked us to miss the tournament as 8th in the conference. Toledo was 10-2 favorites to win the tournament

  4. 30 more for Chellia, up to 712 and 3rd place with at least 1 more game to go. No matter how she does in the championship game, it’s been a season for the ages

  6. The team got a great sendoff from the hotel by the pep band, cheerleaders and dazzlers. I'm glad the ladies are being treated the way they deserve! They are the one bright light for this year. Wrestling and Volleyball have also done well.

  7. I need a Kent State-Akron final in hopes that the full diss track finally gets leaked.

  9. A lot of Canadian players go under the radar, especially if they stay up in Canada for HS. This kid is an absolute baller

  10. As much as I’d love to see their season continue if they don’t beat Kent, I don’t think their 19-12 record and 190 NET ranking would make the cut. But let’s think positive and hope the Bulls punch their ticket to the Big Dance, and leave the NIT to Toledo and Ball 🤘

  11. If the bag of cash is big enough and he still has a lot of family there, he will trade in his red and back to blue. His money stretches further in Alabama though, so the Michigan sack will need to be bigger. Also, with Saban gone, does the Alabama mystique wear off a little? Should be a fun offseason.

  12. To quote Shania Twain, “Let’s go girls!”

  13. But at the same time I almost want ball state, yes they battered us but we had nothing to play for and looked bored and learned how they play. However I have to say Kent because we saw how poorly UB handled the full court press from Toledo late. Ball does that all game

  14. Horrible end of game management. Needed a timeout there when things got sloppy. Should’ve had the last shot but now their fate is in Toledo’s hands

  15. There were 36 names here: https://getsomemaction.com/news/2024/3/12/mac-announces-2023-24-mac-mens-basketball-all-mac-teams-specialty-award-winners.aspx None were from UB. I don't have the time or heart to check back in the history books to see when this happened the last time for UB (though who knows if there were 36 slots back then). I understand the various tables and figures (and analysis therein) allows one to go deeper into the numbers (which is fine), but the "eye test" tells me that this is reasonable. There was a poster recently that looked at the (recent) history of Freshman and their impact -- it was a good look into that. I remember about 15 years or so ago people on this board would project the hell out of some of our players who were underclassman and coming off questionable seasons. Things like "so and so will be a junior next year" and that fact alone was supposed to account for improvement. It was silly then and its silly now. -- I think 0 - 36 and 3 D1 wins tells you all you need to know about the year. On the plus side...I bleed blue...so...Tim Oboh! I hope GH3 and his staff have a phenomenal offseason in filling out the roster. Go Bulls.

  16. All-Ohio semis, the MAC's wet dream. Used to be our job to crash that party. Definitely can't count on the directional Michigans to do it.

  17. Rinse and repeat with that school from the walleye capital of the world. Same result year after year. Now let’s hope the UBWBB can send Toledo home too.

  18. Time was eventually called on Reggie here not because he didn't have competitive teams but because those teams (for various reasons in those games that we don't need to re-live) couldn't get over that hump and raise that trophy. Every year I say Kowalczyk's pink slip is already filled out, they just need to sign and date it. I absolutely agree that he's a good coach who has built a program that yearly fields good teams. But he hasn't won a thing, unless you want to count the regular season. They're stuck - you'd be crazy to get rid of him, but is it EVER going to go anywhere further? I'll say this from our experience here - if you make that change, to say that "good" hasn't been good enough (and I get it), it has to be someone who's clearly better. And the pressure is on that person right from the start - they're inheriting a ready made contender and they need to win ASAP.

  19. It was 3 - CMU, Georgia Southern, and EMU. Get it straight! 😂

  20. TB32 covers this season, but if you're talking broader success I would much rather have two NCAA tournament wins, 4 tournament championships in 5 years, and be nationally ranked for nearly an entire season than hang some regular season banners and play in a second or now third rate tournament. If you exclude 2018-19's dream team and a couple MAC Tournament Championships you get me closer to preferring Toledo's regular season success but in the end being in the NCAA tournament counts for so much in the public's eye.

  21. Would I rather get the #1 seed with everyone on the roster having at least one more year of eligibility or the worst MAC team in two decades that will lose its 3 best players?

  22. I would be happy to see those 5 stay, I would like to see Boldin stay, but we will see. He may not necessarily "need" NIL money compared to others, but if someone else wants him, he will likely go. We were one of a very few that offered him if I remember correctly. I'll give Graham another shot, gotta be tough not thinking you are eligible then being thrown into the fire with a days notice and expect to be at game speed more than halfway thru the season. Given that state, we have room for 7 or 8 (pending Boldin). You can make a lot happen with 7 new guys, if they are the right guys and fit whatever the scheme was intended. I will take a wait and see approach.
