  1. This is horrible, hopefully they can figure it out soon.
  2. Assuming they both lead to a W, I don't care but if I had to pick I would say 10/10/10, I like seeing the Juniors take on the scoring load to get experience being the "go to" guys for next year.
  3. Also wondering this, might just try to watch it on the ESPN website until that game is over.
  4. Tonight is so important for whitesell. Getting back to the tourney will be such an important recruiting tool. If he shows he can keep us playing in late March, it should help him grab some solid talent.
  5. Preston might be the scariest player in the MAC.
  6. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/kansas-coaching-candidates-lance-leipold-jeff-monken-among-top-options-to-replace-les-miles/ Hopefully Leipold doesn’t make the same mistake that Gill did.
  7. Time for him to go, the question is if Alnutt will actually pull the trigger.
  8. Great, right as we were building momentum another game gets canceled.
  9. The fact that he is considering us and 4 major conference programs is encouraging.
  10. I remember we made a fathead of this and he came and stole it after the game.
  11. Whatever happened to Hawkins? I remember him entering the portal but didn't hear much after that.
  12. I think there is a middle ground. Rankings do matter, wins and losses matter as well. Weren't half the posters here making fun of Danny White for calling UCF national champions when they went undefeated? If the only thing that mattered was wins and losses then the March Madness bracket would look a lot different every year because there are a lot of lower ranked teams that don't get in despite having very good W/L numbers.
  13. Not sure if this is stemming from my comment in the other thread. But I have donated to athletics and my statement still stands. Our facilities are MUCH closer to MAC level than Big Ten level.
  14. I agree on Whitesell, I am not happy with his performance so far. To say we are a Big ten school playing in the MAC is unrealistic. We have a football field that has a track around it and only seats ~25,000. I agree that we should be top of the MAC and hopefully can get to a better conference, but we just don't have Big Ten level facilities at this time.
  15. It must be mental at this point, it seems like he gets worse and worse every game.
  16. Not me, but I love to see it.
  17. While I am not a huge fan of Whitesell at this point, I think the big issue a lot of posters have is that people have unrealistic expectations. There has been negative comments about Leipold this year. We went 6-1, won a bowl game, ended in the Top 25 and have had the best stretch of football in UB history. But people still aren't happy with Leipold because he hasn't won the MAC yet. Yes, it is good to have high expectations, but sometimes it is just tiring to read people constantly complaining. Everyone has the right to post their opinion here, but it is hard to take people seriously when they throw shade at the best UB football coach of all time.
  18. I don't know if it is good or bad that he truly looks like he is trying his hardest. Just seems like he can't put it together.
  19. I'm normally pretty positive, but we look horrible. Can't make a layup.
  20. Seems like a lateral move at best. Maybe because we ran the ball too much?
  21. I agree, trash talk happens in every basketball game. If we are being honest, why would SU what to play us? It is a high risk, low reward game. If they beat us "they were supposed to", if they lose then it looks bad for them. While I don't think it has happened yet, there is a real chance that we eventually could compete for good recruits with them. To my knowledge, Jeenathan wasn't recruited by SU, but he was a top 100 recruit from Rochester. If we continue to play SU close and/or beating them, those games could be the deciding factor for someone like that. Until we get out of the MAC, they won't want to play us.
  22. Do I wish we won the MAC? Yes, obviously. But this was a solid season and I am very happy with Lance. Hopefully he stays and next year he can get over the hump and win the MACC. In the last 3 seasons we have 70% win percentage (23-10), won two bowl games, won the MAC East twice, and were ranked in the Top 25 for the first time ever. We have had a winning record for the past 4 years. In the 17 years prior (since 1999 when UB joined the MAC), we had two winning seasons total, our best winning percentage for a season was 61.5%, won 1 MAC championshp, won the East once, and had 0 bowl wins. This program is headed in the right direction.
