  1. It is encouraging that he tweeted about Coach Jenkins and then tweeted that. Hopefully he picks us, we are going to need guards next year.
  2. Saw on instagram that Nickelberry has started practicing with the team. Any news on how he has been doing?
  3. Yeah I listened to their podcast and no joke one of them was convinced that Jackson was less risky than Kyler Murray. They are too biased.
  4. Hopefully the kids currently growing up in Buffalo have a different opinion.
  5. I’m not sure. Back when I went to UB it seemed that most of True Blue was actually not from the Buffalo area. My best guess is that most students who start following the teams due so as freshman when they are in the dorms and it is the fun thing to do. A lot of students from Buffalo commute to UB and don’t get as involved.
  6. Just watched some of his high school highlights. He looks like he can run too.
  7. 11 days until football is back!
  8. I'll probably check it out for the Giants/Knicks/Yankees/Rangers anyway. Thanks!
  9. Do they post a decent amount of UB related material?
  10. Could this mean that Mballa will be playing? I might be wrong, but I thought that Johnson and Grant didn't have numbers on the website last year.
  11. I agree but with an emphasis on football. Football is still king and often drives the decisions of the P5 conferences.
  12. 40% is a good amount, but the poster that I quoted said that nearly every team starts 3 guards. Which is just not true.
  13. Honestly I am fine with three guards starting but I don't like the reasoning being that it is because they are our 3 best players. Was it a no brainer to start Perkins because he was one of our 2 best players?
  14. Nearly every team? Here is the data from RealGM. 1. Virginia - 3 Guards, 2 Forwards (1 Guard was 6'5") 2. Texas Tech - 3 Guards 2 forwards (1 guard was 6'6") 3. Michigan State - 2 Guards, 3 forwards (1 guard was 6'5") 4. Duke - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards (1 Guard was 6'7") 5. Auburn - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards 6. Gonzaga - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards (1 Guard was 6'5") 7. Kentucky - 2 guards, 3 forwards (1 Guard was 6'5") 8.Purdue - 3 Guards, 2 Forwards (2 Guards were 6'6") 9. UNC - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards (Guards were 6'4" and 6'5") 10. Tennessee - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards 11. Michigan - 3 guards, 2 forwards (2 Guards were 6'5" and 6'6") 12. Houston - 3 Guards, 2 Forwards 13. Florida State - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards (Guards were 6'4 and 6'5") 14. Virginia Tech, 3 Guards, 2 Forwards (2 Guards were 6'5") 15. LSU - 3 Guards, 2 Forwards (2 Guards were 6'4" and 6'6") 16. Kansas - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards, (1 Guard was 6'5") 17. Buffalo - 3 Guards, 2 Forwards 18. Wofford - 3 Guards, 2 forwards (2 Guards were 6'4") 19. Kansas State - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards 20. Villanova - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards 21. Oregon - 1 Guard, 4 Forwards 22. Maryland - 3 Guards, 2 Forwards (2 Guards were 6'4" and 6'5") 23. Nevada - 1 Guard, 4 Forwards (no player under 6'7") 24. Wisconsin - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards 25. Iowa State - 2 Guards, 3 Forwards (No player under 6'4") So 10 out of the top 25 (40%) had 3 guards starting. Out of the teams who had 3 Guards, only Buffalo and Houston had 3 players under 6'4". Only 3 teams had 3 players starting who were shorter than 6'5" (Buffalo, Houston, and Wofford). So I am not really sure why you said nearly every team has 3 guards starting. I guess if you count all the teams with a NET below 200 you can find a bunch, but that isn't what we are striving for. The last two years we got knocked out of the tourney by long and athletic teams. Side note: After typing guard so many times I realized it is a really weird looking word.
  15. I wouldn’t start Johnson because we have more forwards than in previous years. Also, like I said previously, he could be like Perkins where he comes off the bench but plays starters minutes.
  16. If what you are saying is true I think we might stretch the rotation to 10 players this year instead of our usual 9. Maybe Johnson follows in Perkins footsteps and comes off the bench even though he is one of the better players. Jordan/Segu Graves/Johnson Williams/Grant Nickelberry/Skogman Hardnett/Bertram This is assuming Mballa doesn’t get a waiver.
  17. Obviously I am biased but I think we are going to be much better than 9-9 in conference this year. While we did lose a lot, this year we will have the highest rated collection of recruits ever. Recruit rating doesn't guarantee success, but there is definitely somewhat of a correlation between the two.
  18. https://cuse.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbasket Looks like Syracuse had enough of us last year.
  19. Yeah Cacok has been everywhere and looks much better unfortunately.
  20. The cameramen love Perk. Seems like they are zooming in on him during breaks and during the pregame.
  21. I think we will see a 9 man rotation again consisting of the following players in tight games. PG) Davonta Jordan/Ronaldo Segu SG) Jayvon Graves/Antwain Johnson W) Jeenathan Williams/Gabe Grant F) David Nickelberry F) LaQuill Hardnett/David Skogman This is assuming Mballa is sitting out and Fagan is on the IR for the year. If one of them plays I could see the rotation stretching to 10 players.
  22. Welcome Laquill! This turned out to be a very exciting class for UB.
  23. I watched the first quarter and kept up with the box score on my phone. When I saw him he looked pretty good, any idea why he didn't really play in the second half?
