  1. Yeah, try not going to happen for 10-15 years unless football and basketball is consistent year after year in both sports, especially football. So the talks about conference talks is beating a dead horse.
  2. Really surprised he didn't bolt to Washington or something. That's exciting.
  3. Only difference between Mark Few and Nate Oats, is loyalty.
  4. We all did. Well, most of us did. I really thought he was going to be the guy who would turn the program into the Gonzaga of the east. I was stupid and foolish for entertaining that thought.
  5. I can't even fault Andre here. And my god, at least he had the decency to thank the university and staff for the opportunity. Good on him.
  6. Money talks. At the end of the day, that's all Oats cares about. And we now know it.
  7. Players are going to leave, and players are going to de-commit most likely. And the program is back to the early 2000's again. Unless by some miracle all of the players stay and all of the recruits stay, then MAYBE. But, it probably is not happening.
  8. He's gone in 4 years. Great coach in the MAC, and he will get swallowed in the SEC, especially him being at a school that does not care about basketball the slightest.
  9. What's it even matter at this point, this sets back the program bad. And even if we get a coach who performs at the same level of Nate, they're just going to up and leave, and this is going to be the same pattern. It's all the same with every mid major coach who does well and jumps ship. It's absolutely demoralizing. I actually believed Oats when he had visions of building something here, the Gonzaga of the East. And it was all a sham. Back to square one it is. Hope we recover....
  10. All these lies of him building Gonzaga of the east of distilling false hope into so many people. The university was coming around to build this thing and we are back to square one. Wow.
  11. @961819 you really riled up some folks on a simple theory LOL
  12. I think he just maybe want minutes in general and next year he will definitely get them if he proves to not be a liability on both ends of the floor. I would think he's gonna be the first guard to come off the bench.
  13. Because players in basketball often come to a team because of the coaching staff maybe?
  14. I'll never forget seeing him 5 months after the Miami tournament game. Gained like 35 pounds of muscle. That's the plan Montell needed to get on.
  15. All I have to say is, f*ck Mike Harrington. That is all.
  16. Brandon McCoy involved? Shocker. Wouldn't be surprised if UNLV was slipping him some money under the table as well.
  17. This is just mean and a tease lol. 4 day countdown.....*fingers crossed*
  18. This is really irrelevant to the title, but also nice reminder. Mark Few went to the sweet 16 four times in 15 years. Took him 15 years to get past that hump and made it to the elite 8 and then 2 years after that went to the title game and lost. I guess if we are patient enough, better things to come than the second round! (I'm really just trying to distill hope in everyone)
  19. I was kind of looking at it this way Projected Starting 5: F Andre Allen F James Rojas (Raymond Hawkins instead of James if we land him) G Jayvon Graves G Antwain Johnson (had great stats with his last season at Mid Tenn, will most likely start every game) G Davonta Jordan Bench Players: *Players in order to receive most significant minutes* W/F Jeenathan Williams G Ronaldo Segu G Durey Caldwell (potentially Noah Williams here if he flourishes in practice) F Tra'Von Fagan (might see minutes rotating for the 4 and 5 spot, who knows) G Noah Williams (see above) W/F Gabe Grant (really have no idea where he fits in the mix and I don't know much about him except for his stats for Houston and JUCO) F Brock Bertram (role player at this point, and I think we can expect him to transfer after next season) To me, Hawkins would be the final piece of the puzzle for next season. I'm thinking we are going to land him, but don't be surprised if he does choose Arkansas. Obviously this is a huge crap shoot of a prediction, but I love this time of year to throw around predictions and bullshit the roster.
  20. With all the negative comments here, all I can say is, we need to have our head's held high. I know mine is. I have sat through Cohan and Witherspoon, waiting for our time to come, waiting for the time for us to actually be in the tournament. We have have now been to 4 in the last 5 seasons. I never would have thought we'd ever end the season in the top 15. Well, we did. It's been one heck of a run. People here can sob about the Texas Tech game, it was not pretty, we got beat down, and it was a bad way to end a magical season. But folks, it's time to not dwell on yesterday and let's all think about tomorrow, think about the future and what we have. We have a ton of great players next year, with the potential to have Raymond Hawkins, which could be a recipe to a 25 win season. I can't help but to think of the good things that are ahead for the men's program.
