  1. Soooo, this team is capable of beating some very solid clubs, or losing to anyone. I wasn’t sure how good or mediocre Army is? Then I checked and they lost to Binghamton by 15 and Merrimack by 9. So this is a pretty bad loss.
  2. Great win. I hated that some people on social media were ripping the team after Vandy. Coach has this crew playing some solid ball.
  3. Should be a good game. Awesome location. After getting snubbed a couple years ago this is a nice reward for the coaches, players and staff. Was checking out the Charlotte reaction on Twitter. Lots of their fans seems ticked they could’ve had 20,000 fans attend a nearby Bowl (their first ever) but now only a few hundred may attend tops.
  4. I believe i heard that Sunday December 8th is the big selection show for all the Bowls and playoff games. Of course there could be leaks before then, and the Bahamas Bowl will likely be announced earlier because the two programs involved will need extra time to obtain the proper travel documents.
  5. Lance is solid and he's the best thing for UB. Again, this is a hard program to keep consistently winning. He runs a good program here. He has to fix the special teams miscues but it's never going to be perfect at UB. I thought they could win 5-6 games this year so they've overachieved for me. Shoulda beat Kent and Ohio but S* happens. that's why we watch sports. it's not 100% predictable.
  6. Great game last night. They imposed their will in the 2nd half to avoid another meltdown. The O-Line, D-Line and RB's are balling out. Did ya see the stat of Sack totals over the last 6 games: Buffalo 27 , Opponents 1 Must win the game vs. Bowling Green, there are no other options!
  7. I like Lance. If they dump him, watch the next guy turn this program into Akron. It's very hard to build a consistent winner at Buffalo. These blown games are infuriating but he runs a solid program and we have better athletes than we used to have. This was going to be a re-load/rebuild type season. That being said, Kent State played fast the whole night, while UB played their running/plodding style on O. The fast team just overwhelmed them towards the end and UB could not make one single play to turn momentum back to their side. Make ONE play. I'm sure Leipold won't be sleeping well for the next week.
  8. A team who’s strengths are O-Line, Running backs and Defense should never blow a late 27-6 lead. Unreal. Special teams at UB are usually near the bottom of FBS, unfortunately
  9. I’ll give Kent credit as well. They could replay that game 100 times from 8 minutes remaining And I bet 99 would result in a UB win. That whole sequence was scripted perfectly for them. The coaching failed, Terrible special teams, the D wilted, the QB has to do better than 9 for 22.
  10. There’s no coming back from this. Felt similar after MAC championship game last fall. (But at least they made it that far)
  11. Vantrease looks pretty good. Two very questionable 15 yard penalties against UB cost Patterson a TD and extended a scoring drive for Kent St (after they were stuffed).
  12. Some of these Ivy League teams are really tough. And no one knows how good of a season they’ll turn out to have. I don’t think it’s a horrible loss for Bama (or UB), but it upsets the fans and tempers expectations. Maybe that’s not a terrible thing. It gets players full attention, quickly, that’s for sure.
  13. Tough loss but these guys will establish some chemistry and jell soon enough. The automatic home wins are over with for now. Just get better. Who knows, maybe Dartmouth will prove to be a very solid team this year?! by the way, are the Volleyball lines on the basketball court all season?
  14. Somehow, EMU beat Illinois of the Big Ten,, who I believe beat Wisconsin. Very bizarre
  15. One only has to watch Connecticut play football to appreciate what we have in Lance as the head coach. He runs a good, solid program here.
  16. I don't feel much connection to the football MAC teams. I'll give a slight nod to Ohio since we were alternating wins with them for a few years. Now they've won 2 in a row.. I've said it for as long as we have been in the MAC. The average WNY sports follower (who is not a hardcore UB fan) most likely thinks Kent State & Akron football are no different than Colgate and Villanova. They probably have no idea the first pair are FBS and the others are FCS. The MAC schools are just not well known and hence, not a big draw here.
  17. I’m starting to wonder which player(s) on UB are most likely to enter the portal at seasons end. Because they want to experience playing in front of 40,000 people weekly not 8,000. Attendance is low throughout most of the MAC, and down in general I think. unless you’re talking about Bama, Clemson, UGA, Penn St, etc...
  18. The Leipold to Rutgers chatter has been a popular Rutgers message board topic since early last season, especially after UB beat them. But then we lose 3 of the final 4 and then with losses to Liberty, Miami and OU this season....many of the RU fans have jumped off the Leipold bandwagon. They want someone more innovative and younger, who can attract the hot recruits. I don't think they will really be targeting Leipold. And I like Lance at UB. He runs a good, solid, respected program here. I hope he doesn't get swayed to leave.
  19. Ugh. Just awful. The story of this season are a Really good Oline and RBs getting offset by Poor kicking game, and nothing special at QB or WR. Although it was good to see some of the other receivers get some action today. D played hard on the home field, made some plays, just couldn’t close it out.
  20. In between getting hit after throwing and misfires, Myers threw a few balls downfield that were spot on. if we had some skilled receivers they would have been caught. I have no idea if Vantrease is much better but as you said he seems like a game manager. However, against Temple, Myers managed the game pretty well. don’t really get how our QB was crushed several times after releasing the ball and there weren't any roughing the passer calls. One in particular looked like the helmet crown hitting Myers’ face mask. UB breathes on their QB and gets hit with roughing.
  21. Miami just looks like a team that wants to win this game so much more than UB.
  22. Somehow Georgia Tech is a +10 underdog at Temple this weekend. Temple is a better team than they looked this past weekend at UB, but how bad is GA Tech this year? I believe they took UB's awesome strength and conditioning coach. Must be tough times at Tech this season.
