Maybe the 2 combatants could give each other their personal email. They could then duke it out in private. The entertainment value ran out somewhere around sun up this a.m.

You are assuming Va Tech wanted to play us... Very few high majors are buying a mid-major team with 8 seniors who are picked to win their league. I also understand the buy game argument, but its not fair to ask this group to play the entire non conference schedule on the road. They are already playing 6 of their first 8 away from home

I may not know what channel this game is on, but I do know this thread has been hijacked and is playing a rerun.

With this administration we budget for one thing... FOOTBALL. I think a lot of this goes back to our Athletic Director and his unwillingness to understand we should be a basketball school and that is where our success comes from. My guess is most of the 95K from Michigan went to buy more ice for football. Danny White understood the importance of hoops. We might not agree with the way he went about things, but he was the only athletic director who saw that potential and that is why we had our biggest successes either with him in charge or thanks to the moves he made..

That’s not correct. Programs are built by their fan bases and the culture that surround them. What you’re talking about is having good teams but not a program. Those are the teams that were good until they lost their coach or star players. Programs are more than the team on the court at any given time. They persist over the years. They are respected and get good games even when they have losing streaks. You’re proposing a fleeting low major model. We need a program.

I believe it can become a rivalry especially if both teams can become relevant to local and national fans. Years ago it was Bona in the national spotlight but only over the last number of years has Bona been very successful in the A-10 and of course over the last six plus years has UB been successful nationally. We just have to enjoy these years for what they are. Next year with Bona losing all their star players and UB losing their main starters who knows what the teams will look like. On another note we have to enjoy the UB women’s team because it feels a little like what happened to both Hurley and Oats leaving for big time jobs that it could happen to Coach Jack getting offers for coaching jobs especially if the would win the MAC and go to the tourney again. Go Bulls!!!

Nice win the the team after the tournament. Sometimes when teams come back from away tournaments thy have a mental/physical letdown. It looked like that kind the first half against a pretty good Madison team. They had a b big athletic front court and a quick guard. We did not play defense with intensity and were off on our shooting. Summer had the same kind of shots she had in previous games but could not make a shot. The second half was like night and day. We increased the defensive intensity and started hitting shots. Summer continues to be a defensive presence with 13 rebounds even after having an off game offensively. A little concerned about our depth after Summer and Adeyeye. Christie looked totally lost and really has no quickness and presence on the boards. Hope Coach Jack can get a couple other players some playing time before conference play. Stilll no word on what happened to Gaba who I do not see on the bench.Looking forward the the next few home games and the Niagara game with the Parker sisters. Go Bulls!!!!

There are many reasons for this and we have talked about them before. 1. Teams do not want to come to Alumni Arena and play a roster of eight seniors...I bet you we will have no problem finding opponents next year. 2. Money - It's expensive to bring a D-I team in for a buy game. Probably talking at least $50k...That's a lot of money.. You want better matchups?? Donate to the Blue and White Fund. My guess is we are paying Point Park and St. John Fisher no more than 10k each. 3. NET Rankings - These games don't impact the NET. As mentioned we we have enough Q3/Q4 games on our schedule already with the bottom half of the MAC. Bringing a team to Alumni Arena would only hurt the resume. I don't think it would be fair to tell this team that have to play every game on the road because no teams are willing to come here. So unfortunately this is where we are at. The UC-Irvine game is a really god get. The others are what they are.

Hodgson He proved he was a great recruiter when he recruited a UB commit, or 2, to go play at Bama. All while still an employee of UB.

Don’t be sorry! I agree with virtually everything you wrote. It’s a shame that it’s turning out this way but the power conference teams have found a way to essentially cheat the system while consistently putting mid-majors at a huge disadvantage.

This is a convo I will happily stay away from. Big win by the ladies today on the court.
