  1. The UB basketball team from say February 1st until today would beat the November team by 30+ And that's saying something considering UB was handled pretty easily last night against a very average Kent st team the last month or so was the first time I saw actual improvement, the improvement is there the question is in my opinion is it where it should be

  2. UB is bad, but I think that they have improved from the start of the season at least. This game would be a lot closer if Chatman was having an average game and Sullinger wasn’t sinking 40 footers.

  3. UB is actively working to setup a Collective and is soliciting money for the startup fees for a 3rd party administrator. Once setup it would be a not-for-profit collective that would focus on Men's Basketball and Football. If anyone is interested in helping with setup fees (NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE for this effort), let me know.

  4. Based on the announcement of the scheduling for the next three seasons (before they have to go back to the drawing board with the addition of UMass) the schedule should be release any day. Travel Tip for Out of Towners: If you are going back to Buffalo for a game or games, book your hotels rooms before the Bills schedule comes out. Once that schedule comes out Saturday night rates will go through the roof.

  5. BGSU, Western Michigan, Miami, and UMASS... only 2 more and we can make our own hockey conference!

  6. Anytime you add a team to the conference that is both in your geographic region and is historically at a level that would put them higher than the median program in the conference, you've got a massive win! UMass to the MAC is great for UB basketball.

  7. While I don't completely disagree with the statement, the "improvement " isn't much, and reasonably every team "should" improve over the course of a season, in theory. Yes, Sabol is serviceable and even solid at times now as a spot up shooter (improvement) and Z isn't completely out of place on the floor now (improvement), but that's picking at straws in the overall scheme. Again, every team should be improving over a season, so even if this one has done so even marginally, other teams have as well.

  8. This actually made me LOL. You are out of your mind. So what's your line for the WMU team (#301) we just lost to by 19 against November UB? 50? Too bad we didn't make all this improvement earlier or we'd be contending for a final four!! JMU only beat us by 15, Bonaventure only beat us by 15, Butler only beat us by 13. This current UB team has to be a lock for at least a Sweet 16 then if we'd win by 30 I truly can't believe the flip this board has done where I was on the optimistic side of posters during the Whitesell years and now people are taking moral victories (that are based on??) from a string of double-digit losses to 3rd and 4th tier MAC teams

  9. Who that is retained vs leaving brings you hope into next year? Sy is done, Jo is surely leaving along with Adams. Sabol, Bolden, fulcher, McVeigh, Z, Wilson, graham + ??? gives off optimistic vibes? The "???" better be 2+ studs and 3+ strong role players because none of those potential returning guys are Alphas next year, and several aren't even strong enough to warrant time on a contending squad, sadly. Fingers crossed for better days ahead.

  10. I wish there was some culture or identity or something we could point to as a start for next season. I cannot find it. Looks like ground zero next year.

  11. This board has given this team a lot of credit for not quitting... but I'm afraid that's not an accolade we can give these guys so far tonight. The last 5 or so minutes of that half were a team that looked like they quit, in my opinion. And I feel for them. I really do. Gotta remember these are kids. They're a 4 win team a few days out from the season being over. Can't imagine it's easy to get up and be motivated to play under those circumstances. I feel for Sy, who is likely playing his last competitive basketball on US soil. I feel for the freshman who I'm sure didn't imagine year one of college ball feeling this way. I don't really feel for everyone else because I'm sure they've got one eye on the transfer portal at this point, lord knows I would. Except for Zaakir, whose hill I will die on until he graduates or transfers 😅 And it's a shame, because really all we have to look forward to as fans right now is effort, growth, semblance of culture... and the way this season has gone, well, that's a near impossible ask to get from this group, in this day and age of NIL and it's impact on mid-major conferences. Not really sure what else there is to say... Go Bulls 🤘

  12. Always sorry to see a UB fan get disenfranchised. I've seen bad years, dreadful years and even some good years. But I think I'll hang around...

  13. You aren't getting multi-star recruits. The trick in the MAC is to develop players. That's what makes coaching so important. Mo wasn't just in over his head, he was at the bottom of pool.
