UB85
There are very few coaches ahead of Nate that I would take over him. Coach K and that might be it. Hurley at 63? Nate has done more with less than Bobby.

If and when we have success this year Mark Alnutt better tear the contract up and give Oats and staff another raise and extension. Go Bulls!!!! squire17
Is this about money? Is a coach ranked (valued) according to salary? I’ll take Oats over just about anyone, except for Beilein.
Kevin
He's 14th in the nation as a midmajor and just came off a huge year. 111th???? Is this even close to serious?
bull_trojan
I think nationally the perception is, well he got a head start from Hurley but we need to see a bit more before we crown him. UB nation: He used Hurley's name, to start, but ultimately he was the engine behind the Hurley teams and he now can use his name to open doors, let the good times roll. After CJ and Harris leave, the nation will write us off, but if we stay near the top of the country, then Oats will get his national respect. UB92
Here is Joey Loose's methodology: "Devising a methodology to rank all of them is virtually impossible, so the following was used as a baseline. Certain statistics such as career winning percentage, NCAA Tournament success, conference championships, and expectations for the 2018-19 season were all taken into account. There may be some coaches who seem too high or too low, but any coach can see a drastic change in the ranking with one good or bad season. Most information was gathered from Sports Reference and future projections were taken from KenPom’s ratings. " Here is the one comment I found on the article: "First of all, this list is just insane. There is no objective measure to determine one coach being better than another. Even on subjective measures, you are flinging poo. How can you say that Josh Pastner is a better coach than Bob McKillop? That is just nuts." ---- The less time we spend thinking about Joey Loose and his list, the better.
