They're confident until they're not. They have a severe case of schizophrenia. One minute they think they completely stink. Then after winning a game they're world beaters. One minute they like Groce. The next they think he should be fired. The fact of the matter Akron is an offensively challenged team. In conference our defense is #1 theirs # 2. Our offense is much better. You have to play the game. But the Bulls will bring it to them!2 points

I'm actually not a fan of the idea of moving to the AAC, we are too far removed from the other teams location wise. In my dream scenario, we would continue the success in the MAC for the next 10+ years and then move to the Big10. Is it likely? No, but you never know.2 points

People on here aren't getting this, the football team can't have one good season, followed by 4-5 bad seasons and expect to jump conferences. Unless we by some chance get invited to another conference, we are sitting in the MAC for a while...as you said, at least 10 years. Football team's gotta show consistency.2 points

That 3 by CJ at WVU was my favorite 3 since Hamilton's to win the MAC. Felt like it was in the air for an hour.2 points

Don't ruin my weekend. That's all I'm saying.2 points

I'll guess. 1) Bump in pay to a mil/yr. 2) Practice facility is next athletic project. In the meantime they mock something up in the fieldhouse or put up a bubble. 3) Within 2-3 years we'll be in the AAC.2 points

Lost in all of the hubbub of the MAC Basketball tourney, is the fact that today is Pro Day for UB. All I've heard so far is that the Bills fieldhouse * is crawling with pro Scouts. Has anyone heard anything as to how any of our players are doing? * It will sound great next year when we can say The Murchie Fieldhouse.1 point

This should be an all time classic. Two great coaches. Tons of mutual respect and a building rivalry.1 point

I was not a fan of Treg’s when he played for the Bob Cats. But I am now. He’s experienced a very difficult journey and has survived where others may well not have. He penned a very personal and moving, at least to me, on bobcatattack reflecting on his experiences and how Saul Phillips impacted his life. I post it here because I think it is well worth the read. And just perhaps Treg will stumble on this thread and will realize there are many people many who have no connection to or with him that understand his struggles, wish him well and are pulling for a long, productive and happy life. Here it is. http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/topic.asp?FromPage=1&ForumPID=1&PID=2780681 point

MAC makes 833k annually per school. AAC deal is up, they could make as much as 20 million annually per school and are not expected to make less than 10 million annually per school. Less games in Ohio, more games in our Student-Alumni footprint. Long trips to fun destinations: Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, Orlando, Tampa, Carolina Coast, Philly, Memphis...1 point

Good thing she scored so much in the quarterfinals, no need to score anything in the semi finals!1 point

I just found this funny. I can easily name 4 MAC coaches who will be fired this year. That number may be as high as 7. Seems many in the conference want to get rid of their “Reggie”. Oats may have done more for the conference then anyone person in decades.1 point

They really needed a video for the COTY post? I dont know, maybe spend the time making the POTY video better? Longer?1 point

Canisius and Niagara are in a decent hockey recruiting area, you can't tell that by the teams they produce.1 point

Idk everything said there pretty much was accurate. I’ve always thought Akron fans were some of the most respectful and respectable that I’ve seen. I remember the one year at a road game at Akron both student sections participated in a “Kent state sucks” chant. I have nothing against them, just hope they lose. St bona fans on the other hand...1 point

Cmon ladies let’s start this “weekend” (yea it’s only Wednesday) off right.1 point

Lately we have been taking it to teams early and then hit our mid game slump and let them back into it. I wanna see a full game without major lapses and we should take care of them handily1 point

We ain't moving conferences in 2-3 years........lol.1 point

This game must have been very distracting!! I had to read your post several times to figure it out...1 point

Something is wrong when a team that went 16-2 in conference, and has the number 1 seed, gets to play its first conference tourney game in an arena that is 20 minutes away from its opponent’s campus. According to kenpom, the opponent is ranked 3rd out of the eight remaining teams in the MAC tourney. This scenario doesn’t pass the smell test. Time to look for a different conference.1 point

At least we'll get to watch Groce go insane on the refs once the game is beyond reach.1 point

Let's not turn every recruiting thread into an argument about arbitrary details/word choice. We know how this process works.1 point

Kinda like the way he was at UB if he wasn't the one that hired you. Or, if you didn't have deep pockets.1 point

Agree. UMD wiped out all the coaches/staff that had any part in creating that so-called "toxic" atmosphere and also, those who mishandled Jordan McNair's collapse during a team workout. So they are starting fresh with a new coach- Mike Locksley. He was able to recruit some very good players and got a 4-star QB to commit , who was previously heading to Florida St. Things looking up for the Terps.1 point

I’m not sure I agree with that. I’d say Maryland is still a big step ahead of us. We had one good season now that ended on a loss in the conference championship and bowl game. Next year looks like it could be back to the basement. I think Maryland is way ahead of that. Sad to see him go but wish him luck1 point
