Syracuse gets to go to the South where nobody cares about Covid and come back.

They could say no to UB because any lawsuits would be against the state if something happened to a player. The is no clear direct liability for the state if something happened to a Syracuse player. As for Army, they are exempt from state regulation; something called the Constitution prevents New York from regulating Army. Think back to high school (if you went on New York) and McColloch v. Maryland.
UB05
Yeah, UB being a state school is the difference here. I don’t think there will be a hang up. While there’s no “waiver form,” the athletes do have the option of opting out and gaining another year of eligibility.
BrooklynBull
Siena has opted out of their early season tournament that has been moved to Orlando because of the 14 day quarantine required returning from Florida. https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1310738080094134272 As of this morning Illinois and Indiana are on the quarantine list in New York. If the schedule makers pay attention to that it would eliminate Northern Illinois and Ball State from the cross over game. As of today neither Ohio nor Michigan on the list. Not sure what Syracuse did after playing at North Carolina.
ChubbyHubby
Hopefully the 14 day quarantine would be waived. The players are all being tested on a regular basis, and I'm sure the visiting teams wouldn't bring anyone that tested positive.
promotherobot
This isn't going to help. https://buffalonews.com/sports/college/25-university-at-buffalo-athletes-test-positive-for-covid-19-activities-paused-in-3-sports/article_3af7891e-026e-11eb-ad4f-e3d0b4ecf86f.html

The likelihood that these kids will be fine in a week and/or not show symptoms at all is high. Unless the team continues to slowly see more and more cases leading up to the start of their first game I’d make a guess that this will end up being a non issue.

Cuomo just slapped down the Bills request for a measly 7K fans for their next home game. NYS is being pretty strict.
Dabulls
Should we be seeing a schedule any time soon? The pac 12 just released theirs not so long ago
dutchcountry7
Along similar discussion... are we still banned from playing OOC games in North Carolina?
Nonickname
This 6 game schedule is taking way too long to put together. I feel like this isn’t happening after all. Those poor kids.

Dabulls
Heard from a source that the schedule “should” be out today. The MAC was closely looking at how to make sure teams and personnel would be kept safe.

Nonickname
And just like that, a schedule. Unforgiving out of the gate. We struggle historically with Northern and Miami are MAC champs. Need a fast start!
RecoveringHillbilly
The BN had a small piece on football's upcoming season. The only new info I noticed was Leipold said had no players opting out at this time. We added 2 new transfers from FCS based on the updated roster: James Hook, a R-Fr punter from Wagner, and Mason Hoose, a local TE who started out at a JUCO in California, then ECC, then Jacksonville U, who they cut their program. RecoveringHillbilly
Novitsky added to the Remington Watch list. Spectrum sports ran a report about it, showing a practice rep. OL was Awosika - Gabe Wallace - Novitsky - Gall - Fuzak. If Thomas-Ishman ends up as a reserve that speaks volumes about Fuzak and Wallace's development.
