LL salted away his legend at Kansas. Beat undefeated Oklahoma, 6-2 record, tearing down goalposts. Another extension forthcoming and a new stadium renovation coming soon.

Wouldn't be surprised if USC is on his horizon.

LL Cool coach,  you ain’t kidding about the statue.  That man is the best coach and no ego

Consistency in his coaching staff cannot be overlooked. Like it or not, these dudes stick together and have a common vision. Very rare in college sports these days at any level. They are all getting paid way more than they ever thought and are making where they are at the best they can be.

#21 Kansas hangs on for another win, 28-21 @ Iowa State. Jayhawks first win there since 2008, and locks up their first winning season also since ‘08.

Some creative play calls on the last couple possessions by KU to keep the chains moving and ice the game after ISU had cut the lead from 18 all the way down to 3 early in the 4th.

Next big step will be if LL can lead them to 3 more wins to reach double digits for first time since ‘07.  Pretty cool to watch even if it makes you wonder, what if?

Lance is one of the best!  He truly cares about the players, their education and families.  Amazing coach, wish UB could have held onto him a little longer.

Big game tonight for #25 Kansas vs #21 KSU.  Jayhawks just tied it up 7-7 late in Q1.  With UB’s season all but over I’ll be rooting for LL and imagining where our program might be today if only we could’ve afforded to keep him around.

Unfortunately they fell, but still a really good season and he should be able to attract more talent and keep it going three. 7-9 win there consistently will be well received there, plus their schedule will get easier for the next few years at least. He’s done a nice turnaround for sure.

The AD made the decision to let him leave, not an affordability issue from what the story is

Since all contracts have buyouts if a coach wants to leave, I am not sure how an AD can not let them go.  Also, would you want to keep someone working for you who has told they do not want to be there?

Not affordable?  He is making more money than he could have ever dreamed about when he was at Wisconsin - Whitewater.  He is at around $5,000,000.00 per year.

This is comical. It absolutely was an affordability issue, although Lance has never been one who wants the last nickel. He left for an insane paycheck but also his staff got significant raises obviously too. Also, it’s well documented Lance wanted a long term contract. The state only permits 5 years.

I bet a bunch of people in College Station wish Texas had the same restrictions on contract length.

They have nobody to blame but themselves. When these groups shell out that kind of money, that is 100% on them, not the coach. There is 1 national champion each year. At best, you might get 4-5 undefeated teams a season (and that is a tremendous season). Most of these groups are completely delusional. Look at Penn St? The people there are nuts, want Franklin's head. Their last national championship was 1986! They act like they are going to be in contention every year. Do you know when Texas A&M won NC? They won 3 - 1919, 1927, 1939, yet they feel they should shell out $100 million on their coach? There are plenty of more examples, but this is glimpse at the ridiculousness of college football. LL is even cashing in just because his team is slightly above mediocre at a school that just paid their college basketball coach $10 million/year. He has been at Kansas now 20 years and has 2 national championships. It's pure insanity the money that is thrown around and the hype to "win it all" when even the best have the odds stacked against them.
