A big consideration that someone wrote on Bull Run is that Harbaugh is on the hot seat and with another subpar year he could be tossed which would likely mean his assistants are all out as well. In other words, Linguist might be guaranteed $690k this year but we might be able to entice him with a longer term guarantee despite a flat/lower annual dollar amount.1 point

Linguist would be an upgrade in my opinion. Who would he be able to put on staff in May is the tougher question, in my opinion. Potentially promising possibilities. In the end, kansas changing their coach may pay dividends for UB. LL wasn't the "be all end all" (he's not Nate Oats), and simply the timing of this is the toughest hurdle to navigate.1 point
